BuzzJack Music Forum _ 21st Century Throwback Archive _ Round 1: End-of-Year Number 16 SURVIVOR

Number 16 time! I think this batch outshines the previous one in my opinion. tongue.gif The vast majority of these songs are well-remembered and Noughties classics. I also think there is no obvious winner among these. Beyoncé is of course the only pop girl here but she's not universally liked on this forum. kink.gif

Vote for your least favourite. teresa.gif

ugh this is not a good list at all!!!

where do I start lol, there's like 5 songs I equally don't like kink.gif

Posted by: rebekah vAddy! 16th October 2020, 04:11 PM

voted JLS

Posted by: Scene 16th October 2020, 04:14 PM

I'm voting Beat Again although it was a tough call between that and Light My Fire. unsure.gif LMF is dull but BA contains some truly tragic lyrics. laugh.gif

I need a No Promises / Lady / If I Were A Boy top 3. kink.gif

Voted for 'If I Were A Boy' - pleasantly surprised that I'm not the only one so far!

Posted by: Scene 16th October 2020, 04:28 PM

It would be quite something if the only female artist appearing in this was to get voted out in Round 1. laugh.gif

Voted for D12 for tactical reasons, but if I've already noticed that If I Were a Boy had already 2 votes I would have voted for it. tongue.gif

the 2 that charted lowest for me were Beyonce at 55 and JLS at 56.

So, JLS first, then Beyonce to get the boot.

Posted by: T Boy 16th October 2020, 06:22 PM

I don’t hate any of them but I’ve gone with JLS.

Posted by: dandy* 16th October 2020, 06:32 PM

JLS to go.

Junior Senior had better win this!

Posted by: Crypt of the Wombat 16th October 2020, 07:36 PM

Move Your Feet or Lady (Hear Me Tonight) are the only acceptable winners here.

Gone with Beat Again first as it brings back painful memories of my sister as a JLS loon x

JLS

2 songs here that stand out as being significantly below everything else - voting for BodyRockers for having shockingly unsettling vocals for a mainstream hit single. Next target after that would be Beyoncé, one of her worst songs.

Poor brave JLS.

I agree! biggrin.gif

Definitely Light My Fire. Can't believe only one other has voted it!

Posted by: pippa 17th October 2020, 07:25 PM

D12.

Beat Again is so good, no! sad.gif

By a mile, I Like The Way, such a deeply uncomfortable song, really makes my skin itch.

Posted by: Grim Bréaper 18th October 2020, 12:43 AM

Ooh this is a lot closer than when I checked the other day. Another vote for 'I Like The Way' expeditiously pls xx

Why do people hate If I Were A Boy?

Posted by: RabbitFurCoat 18th October 2020, 08:43 AM

Junior Senior and Daniel Bedingfield are light years ahead of everything else in this. I went for Bodyrockers, pleasantly surprised at the number of votes it has.

Agreed. I think the opposite and think it's one of her best imo ph34r.gif (was a 7 week number 1 in my personal chart too) I think ballads for the most part get a hard time on buzzjack though.

I voted JLS but I've never liked them so that was a easy choice lol.

Bye Beyoncé. tongue.gif

Can't speak for others, and I continue to like most songs that I chart (including JLS and Beyonce) - but I just prefer the other songs on the list, and prefer a good many of her other singles to this one, which had good intentions in the lyric, but didn't grab me. That said, I feel the same way about others voting off Blur's To the End in that rate, their best record to me, but there you go, that's democracy biggrin.gif
