The Spice Girls have a total of only 5 ( ) lyric videos published on YouTube.
It is safe to say that to this date, only two seem to have been somewhat successful: Wannabe and the Viva Forever one (which is actually their most viewed, surprisingly, as it went semi-viral last year when it was released). The others, not so much, with Mama and 2 Become 1 barely scratching 300,000 views and Step To Me barely having views of notice, sadly... BUT the general consensus is that they are all pretty good and high quality, actually. So, which one is your favourite and why? And which of their other singles and album tracks you think they should definitly release Lyric videos to? Wannabe 2 Become 1 Mama Step To Me Viva Forever |

Wannabe for sure. It’s like an empty version of the original music video and with the footsteps at the start and the sound of the bus at the end and the girls running it’s got a kind of haunting vibe to it. Especially as the lyric video shows today’s St Pancras hotel (I assume lol). Made me a bit emotional lol as Wannabe was the first music video I ever saw/remembered.
Who Do You Think You Are and Say You’ll Be There next please! I assume for SYBT’s video it will just be a driverless car in a desert. |

I think all are great, they have got them just right in terms of keeping the feel of the original video or song.
I think Viva Forever is my favourite though. Viva Forever actually does really good views, it is the most viewed despite being the last to be released. It gets more views daily than the likes of Goodbye, Too Much, Holler actual music videos. |

Glad everyone likes them. I agree, they have all been really well done.
My favourite is the Viva Forever one. It's so well considered, and beautifully done imo. The graphic design is impecable and faithful to the original video. Second fav is 2 Become 1, it is stunning and I love the billboards in the city with the lyrics, I thought that was super clever idea. My only gripe would be that I would rather it was the single or album version of the song, rather than the 'orchestral' version. I think that was a mistake. Step To Me is AMAZING! I really love it and how nostalgic it is and it is super well done. I think the nods to Pepsi cans are cute although I find that maybe a bit tooooooo on the nose of them 'selling out to marketing' lol Mama is great, super simple but incredibly effective and using the aesthetics of the original video in clever ways too. The Wannabe one is also great, but probably my least favourite?... I find it too haunting, personally, and some of the lyrics are not easy to read at all aaahhh.. |

The orchestral version is on cd 2 of Spice25 and after all these were done to sell Spice25 and Spiceworld25, that is why we have them.
Youtube views for music have nosedived recently, so it will be interesting to see if we get anymore. I think SYBT and WDYTYA and SUYL are obvious missing classics. Christmas Wrapping is crying out for a cute one too. |

I think they're all creative and suit the songs well! Step to Me is probably my favourite.
I also wish there were more lyric videos though, it seems like a strange choice to only have a handful of them. Beyond Sammy's suggestions I think Stop has the potential for a good lyric video. |
