BuzzJack Music Forum _ Eurovision Song Contest _ Melodifestivalen 2015 / Andra chansen · Helsingborg (7 Mar)

God, WHAT A HEAT THAT WAS. Six out of seven moments of perfection (let's ignore that the odd one out went direkt and will be nipping at Eric Saade's heels by competing for the same One Direction rip-off vote) and a comeback that could potentially win the whole damn thing - and I mean Eurovision. Okay, we had to endure the pain of three of the best songs of the year so far going out bottom three, but when you've got the best heat in a good five years on your plate it almost feels UNGRACIOUS to complain.

Anyway, on with the rest. We've reached Melodifestivalen in full battle mode. It's back, and it's back to full brutality with the full head-to-head duels format restored. However, we're given slightly more leeway this year than we had before - rather than getting just the two qualifiers, Christer has graced us with permission for four qualifiers from the eight second chancers, making a final of 12 entries all in all. It tones down the brutality a bit, but at least we stand more of a chance of getting the fan favourites through after some of the horrors we've had to endure in previous years (I still have nightmares about the schlagercaust that was Sundsvall 2011). That said, andra chansen wouldn't be any fun if we didn't see the artists in full hand-to-hand combat with losers at the end of it - and there can be nothing more watchably humiliating than ending up as the rejects of the rejects. Keep an eye out for any duel losers slinking away after their result to put through a quick call to their bank to renegotiate those terms for that remortgage they took out to fund a series of onstage LED screens, and keep the Xanax on hold and all sharp objects away from the green room - it's the SECOND CHANCE ROUND *.*

Whatever goes down here, we can't really say the final will be especially all the better for it. Last year's andra chansen horror has gone some way to redeeming himself with a modern-day Coldplay track set to an Emmelie de Forest performance, but at the end of the day this isn't really the kind of thing you watch Melodifestivalen for. But then, is a 'fun 4 straight people' light entertainment Olly Murs rendition of Let Me Entertain You bast*rdised with Say You'll Be There really something you watch the contest for either? And when the most egregious forehead this side of Rihanna is repping it for the sex appeal side, you know you've got a duell worth giving a miss. Which side are you on?

Whatever happens, the middle of the road will be happy with this one - with Kristin appealing to the radio friendly side of the MoR vote, and Hasse appealing to the traditionalists in the audience. After some initial reservations, I'm deeply in love with both, and whatever happens in this duel we've got a win - either for traditional schlager or the ballad of the year. Which side are you on?

I was a mess last Saturday. Not down to anything I drank - down to my hopes of several months coming true, and the Divine Ms Nah descending to Earth to deliver us Her holy message, which as the prophesies foretold was literally UNIMPROVABLE (in its original form - its embellishment at the hands of Madame Butcher is of course exempt, though only in the same way as the Gospel required reinterpreting by Mark et al in order to make it further palatable for the flock (all requests are to be redirected to my inbox)). And so She escaped our greatest fears of a sista plats failure for our favourite 57 year old, caring not for such whims as age and bodypopping for her life - Her mane a shade of pink previously unknown to science and believed unachievable - and qualified for andra chansen, consigned here by a public too shocked by the cognitive dissonance that arose from Her presentation of a new Gospel which has immediately launched the new movement of Nahstianity (all requests are to be redirected to my inbox). That I could tolerate. What I could not tolerate was this duel.

This Saturday will see if the Swedish public is ready to accept its previous mistakes in following an incorrect gospel for the previous few centuries, but She has a kind heart and will forgive those who join Her flock. That said, She shall not look kindly upon those who betray Her for the sake of a few day-glo sluts who we all went wild for in week one. I have spent several days meditating on this painful choice, but after much thought I have come to the only obvious conclusion - that Dolly Style have clearly been sent by Beelzebub (in Saturday's performance of 'The Bible', the role of YOHIO will be played by Satan (or vice versa)) in order to prevent Her HOLY LIGHT from shining through to redeem humanity with a 17th place finish in Vienna (Nah 5:20-21, 'And so She failed onstage amidst the backing dancers and Slovakian drag queens, that our sins would be cleansed and the Holy Nah would bless us all'). Though I was onside before - they must be stopped. Pick your fucking team carefully huns.

♫ Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear ♫

I was originally going to characterise Kristin vs Hasse as 'black people versus white people' until I realised it could apply equally as much to this - god knows you wouldn't catch Samir och Viktor DEAD in Malmö - or for that matter, any self-respecting black person getting down to Groupie.

This is a really really weird one in that this duel features something totally unprecedented - an act actually changing something significant for andra chansen. Normally in Melfests past you'd get the odd case of a crap dress being thrown out and traded in for a slightly less crap dress, but so far as I can recall, we've never had anything as big as a whole new artist being bolted on to a track. Desperate old Bez must really want to get to the final, because he's got out the SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS FILOFAX and called up one of the GREAT AND GOOD as socially conscious Melodifestivalen entrants go - gay rights advocate/icon Malena Ernman, winner of MF 2009, who's agreed to come along and do a bit of wailing in the background for Behrang in the hope it bags him a few extra votes.

And lord knows he'll need them. Sadly/predictably, Groupie has become *the* Spotify hit of this year's contest so far (at least until Måns came along last weekend) and it's a bit of a shock that they didn't make it through direkt to begin with with the power of app voting - although one probably providing pleasing testament to the popular appeal of Mariette and Magnus. Walkover, right? Well, maybe not. Even the most popular of artists (Carola AGOG) have sometimes struggled with andra chansen's duel format, and why? Because unlike any other part of the contest, a vote for one song is just as much a vote against another. It's pretty hard to round up a series of tactical votes to get out someone loathsome but popular in the heats, but it's all too easy to stop someone in a head-to-head - and something tells me that despite all those streams, a good part of Sweden can't stand the idea of Groupie making it to the final. But will there be enough of them to make Behrang an unlikely finalist? Which side are you on?

ANDREAS WEISE vs LINUS SVENNING
HASSE ANDERSSON vs KRISTIN AMPARO
DOLLY STYLE vs DINAH NAH
BEHRANG OCH VICTOR vs SAMIR OCH VIKTOR

WANT: LINUS / KRISTIN / DINAH / SAMIR AND VIKTOR
THINK: ANDREAS / KRISTIN / DINAH / SAMIR AND VIKTOR

Another fab write up, even though I barely understand a word of the dinah/dolly one but then again i haven't been subjecte do the bible since i was 5 years old and therefore i only rmember that there was like that jesus guy and a few other fellas in it and that's about it.

andreas's forehead thoooooooooooooooo

want: linus, kristin, dolly style, behrang
Think: linus, kristin, dinah, sammi & vikki

Posted by: Iz~ 6th March 2015, 09:08 AM

That Dinah/Dolly write-up is really good. It almost makes me regretful that I'm going to be supporting Dolly Style this weekend. Almost. But then I've always been weak at resisting YOHIO's temptations (and they're just cooler, as much as I want to give myself over to pink hair once in a while). I'm not opposed to seeing Ms Nah win, but the Dollies are far more essential for me in terms of this year.

On Hasse vs Kristin I'm completely torn as both are great songs. I might have to support Hasse so that I feel safe Kristin can't win this thing, as much as I do enjoy I See You, Sweden should certainly not be sending a downtempo at this point.

The other two are pretty obvious choices though, I'm not a fan of Behrang but I'd anti-vote the shit out of it to keep Groupie out the final were I Swedish so that's a theory I agree with you on, and Linus is so much better than that oily thing, I can't believe I'm cheering for him so strongly but his is the one duel where I NEED someone to win.

As for predictions, I'm thinking it could easily go entirely the opposite way to the four I want. Which won't be fun if I am right, especially seeing Groupie + Bring Out The Fire bring 2 extra mediocre entries to join the one already in the final.

Posted by: Måns Vülkerlöw 6th March 2015, 09:09 AM

I'm glad you saw the light. I never liked that Yohio abomination of a girlband and I'm hoping our Holy Nah exorcises them away into the deep abyss of hell. "Make Me (La La La)" was a true moment of revelation last week. She is to Jesus as Måns is to God. Amen.

As for the rest, I prefer "Forever Starts Today" but I'd rather see Andreas Weise sexing up his forehead one more time in the final.
It's all about tradition for me in Duel 2 as I'm not convinced by that Adele b-side and Hasse's dansband track is actually catchy and worthy of a play or two during midsommer celebrations.
Duel 4 leaves me divided. As much as I appreciate the artistry behind "Det rår vi inte för", and the late addition of THE La Voix chanteuse, "Groupie" is worryingly catchy as chlamydia. I've only heard it that one time during the semifinal and I have the chorus coming up in my head everytime someone mentions taking a selfie. For Måns' writing credit only I'll vote for the urban threesome albeit only just.

I'll be working tomorrow evening, I'll have to catch up on SVTplay and look away from spoilers. sad.gif

Okay, so I figured out that either Samir & Viktor or Kristin came 4th in their heat! Which is of course f***ing ridiculous. I'm thinking it was Kristin though because Sam & Vikki are like the highest charting song in Sweden atm. SO CONFUSED. WHAT ARE YOU DOING SWEDEN

Posted by: gooddelta 6th March 2015, 09:32 AM

Voters don't always correspond with music buyers in Sweden so Groupie still may have come 4th in its heat ohmy.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 6th March 2015, 11:22 AM

I'm rooting for Dolly Style here! I know I'm alone in thinking that Dinah Nah isn't the second coming, but I just can't grow to LOVE it. It's nice enough I guess.

The only other song I particularly care about in AC is Groupie *.*

Posted by: Conderella 6th March 2015, 11:29 AM

Even though I equally love them both TO DEATH AND BEYOND I am also in the Dolly Style camp. I feel like Queenah Nah doesn't really invent the wheel with that slutty trash anthem but Dolly Style's song is just too ESSENTIAL to not be in the Final!

Dinah Nah isn't the second coming.

She's the FIRST!

Posted by: Qassändra 6th March 2015, 12:34 PM

I would have assumed:

1: 3rd Dolly Style, 4th Behrang
2: 3rd Samir & Viktor, 4th Linus
3: 3rd Kristin, 4th Andreas
4: 3rd Hasse, 4th Dinah

But of course that wouldn't work for Andreas and Linus and Kristin and Hasse, though I'd be SHOCKED AND APPALLED if Andreas had beat Kristin...

Exclusive clip of Sweden v Hasse this Saturday:

Posted by: LexC 6th March 2015, 01:09 PM

I think in Heat 3 that Jon Henrik must have swallowed up so much of the vote that everyone else was just fighting for scraps, which is why I can believe Kristin came 4th but that there was barely any difference between herself, Andreas and Isa (and probably Ellen too for that matter).

I refuse to pick sides on Dinah/Dolly but whichever one wins will have my backing for the surprise win (as unlikely as that may be). Other than that I am supporting Linus, Kristin and, much to my own despair, Samir & Viktor.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 6th March 2015, 01:16 PM

WANT: Linus / Kristin / Dolly Style / neither but Behrang is less awful
THINK: Linus / Kristin* / Dolly Style / Samir & Viktor

* not sure what way this will go, could be either way tbh but I think on balance Kristin is a LITTLE more likely

Posted by: AdamAloud 6th March 2015, 01:38 PM

WANT: Linus/Kristin/Dinah/Behrang (lesser of two evils)
THINK: Linus/Kristin/Dinah/S&V

I wouldn't be shocked to see Andreas make it over Linus, but Sweden should not be tolerating songs such as 'Bring Out The Fire'.

Kristin is a MUST. THE ballad of the year (apols Andersson) but I am worried about Hasse!

The Dolly/Dinah duel of death. I WAS Team Dolly up until a few days ago when I re-watched heat 4 and MY GOD the breakdown in Make Me hit me and I LOST IT. Soz dollies, but adding a confetti canon won't stop MS NAH TRIUMPHING.

Couldn't really give a toss about duell 4, Behrang at a push, but Malena adds NOTHING to it going from the rehearsal clip. Basically, who ever wins this duel should 'do a Germany' and give their final ticket to the loser of duell 3.

Posted by: Måns Vülkerlöw 6th March 2015, 02:27 PM

SVTMelodifestivalen is putting up some x VS x pictures on Facebook for people to give their opinion and the favourites in each duel seem to be Linus, Hasse, Dinah and Samir & Viktor.

I'm being CLAIMED BY HASSE

La la LA la LA la LA
La la LA la LA LA LA!

Posted by: gooddelta 6th March 2015, 03:20 PM

I wouldn't even mind Hasse being in the final, it's quite joyful to watch and I See You really isn't all that when compared to the classic SDF ballads of yesteryear.

Posted by: Robot 6th March 2015, 07:22 PM

I'm feeling like it'll be Andreas/Kristin/Dinah/Samir & Viktor but weirdly the only one I'm actually certain of now is Dinah Nah.

Posted by: ScottyEm 6th March 2015, 09:03 PM

I've introduced my other half properly to Melodifestivalen and he is HOOKED! Dinah Nah is a big fave in our house, just a little bit trashy and a great hot mess!

I lose it every time I watch Dinah do a random twirl at the side of the stage while her dancers writhe around the stage at risk of a heart attack from the pace and aggression they're being forced to show. Truly iconic in every sense of the word.

I agree, Sanna is looking wonderful wub.gif Best she's looked since she's been hosting.

Ugh, I never need to hear this again, come on Linus!

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:09 PM

Right Linus, dispose of this twat. Please.

It's not that the song is awfully bad, although it is pretty weak, I just can't stand HIM.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 07:12 PM

First time watching live! Not heard many of them so first reactions to a lot of them!

This is all very John Newman-y, isn't it? ohmy.gif I like it, but not enough to support it to win or come anywhere near to winning.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:12 PM

Linus MUST win this, that song is shit

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 07:12 PM

I kinda feel like I'd prefer Andreas to go through for some reason, I think it'd feel like more of a moment in the final than Linus who looks like he hates his song when he's wandering around stage nonchalantly.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:13 PM

Of course the only problem here is one song is terrible but performed brilliantly, the other is great but performed badly.

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:14 PM

Yeah, this is 10 times the 'moment' Andreas' song is. I don't even think he's performing badly, obviously he's not doing much but those drums add a bit of weight to it.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:16 PM

I thought that was much better than he did it first time round

I was about to say this! I really do think Andreas might take this one actually but Linus' song is miles better. I wouldn't say he performed terribly, it just didn't fit the magnitude of the song imo.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 07:16 PM

Okay, so as a song that is much better. He's just SUCH a boring, personality-less performer it's difficult to root for him.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 07:20 PM

That song was much better than the first one, but I agree with John in that the first song was weaker, but as a performance it was better whereas 'Forever Starts Today' is by far the better song but he's not selling the song or performance at all. He's lucky to have the drummers on stage with him tbh.

But for me I guess...

ROUND 1: Andreas will win >> The song isn't as bad as it should be, to cost him the win. <<

You're certainly not alone. This is becoming one of my favourites of the year, really hoping it goes to the final over Kristin now.

So much positive energy in this performance. <3

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 07:31 PM

This song is really joyous! Ridiculously dated, but nice and fun!

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:32 PM

I don't hate the song either, but I See You is miles better

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:33 PM

Lets just hope she managed to bring her nerves under check this time

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 07:34 PM

Hasse is ok in fairness, but I See You is among my faves of the whole year. I do think Hasse could push Kristin out though D:

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 07:35 PM

Her voice is irritating me. It's like she stops before she's supposed to! But the song is really, really nice!

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:35 PM

Oh I think, having thought about it since voting, Hasse is SAILING through

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:36 PM

Bitch is NAILING it this time, yay

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:37 PM

It is incredibly nice, and a great delicate ballad, so I won't mind it going through, but I am still team Hasse, for fun purposes.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 07:37 PM

Yeah, I'd prefer that under a different vocallist but there's something annoying about her. Think I'd prefer Hasse through over that now actually.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 07:37 PM

That was incredible but I've thought all along it'll probably be Hasse sad.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 07:37 PM

MY PREDICTIONS:

ROUND 1: Andreas
ROUND 2: Hasse >> As a song ISY is better, but this performance was really uplifting! <<

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:41 PM

I'm loving this bop, very inclusive and feel-good and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT THE ARTISTS.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 07:42 PM

Going for:

DUEL 1: Linus Svenning - Forever Starts Today
DUEL 2: Hasse Andersson - That song

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:42 PM

I think Linus and Hasse but that might be just what I'm hoping, oo-er.

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 07:42 PM

Taste prevails, thank goodness!

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:42 PM

EDIT: Woo for Hasse too wub.gif

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:43 PM

Oh thank god, that's the one duel where I was desperate for the right result to happen that's had it.

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 07:43 PM

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 07:44 PM

Aww, he looks so pleased with that. And the right result I think. Go Hasse, slay that final.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 07:45 PM

Dolly Style is just too good for everything else in AC, the best sort of happiness. I will be quite sad if it doesn't get through.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 07:59 PM

So Dolly Style were vocally terrible, but that shouldn't matter much

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:00 PM

I still think Dolly Style will make it, but it will be close.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 08:00 PM

Dolly Style wub.gif

OK this song is also excellent and I can see why it's classed as the "Duel of Death" on here. But my heart is sticking with the Dolly's! MM(LLL) is indeed excellent, there's just something missing that Dolly Style have!

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:03 PM

Both are essential songs but Dolly Style just have that magic. Still, would preferably like both through if that was possible sad.gif

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:03 PM

Usually the STENCH of desperation (from Dinah Nah) would be enough for me to side with her, but maybe if she had brought a GOOD SONG it would have been different.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:04 PM

PLEASE DINAH. So obsessed, it's just AMAZING.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:04 PM

Oh God comedy bitch is SINGING now too, ugh

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 08:04 PM

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:05 PM

Everything about this year has been brilliant except this woman, completely unfunny.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:05 PM

Oh f*** off, maybe it would be funny if I was Swedish... but I get the impression it still probably wouldn't and they just laugh at her for sympathy.

"Don't compete in musiiik. Iiik. Iiik." wub.gif

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:06 PM

So naturally I've rewinded to enjoy Dinah another time.

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 08:07 PM

I did not pay much attention to that, and I don't think I missed much.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:08 PM

I had to mute Phillipa. Like seriously wtf drama.gif

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 08:09 PM

You know, I can't bring it in myself to give much of a shit about who gets through here.

I hope VICTOR has a place in the final. (preferably with someone named Behrang I guess, seeing as he has a slightly better song and he's roped in Malena)

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:09 PM

Hmm...rather random Malena Ernman appearance laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:10 PM

Behrang gets plus points for being the hottest guy in this round but this song is so boring. Malena adds nothing rotf.gif

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:10 PM

I wasn't ALL that bothered about the first two duels, whoever won I wouldn't have minded, but they both went through as I'd have marginally preferred.

But DINAH AND SAMIR & VIKTOR ARE ESSENTIAL.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:10 PM

Poor Malena, being reduced to singing backing vocals ON THIS SHIT

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:11 PM

This shameless Malena Ernman shoehorning is making me angry, such an embarassingly desperate attempt.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 08:11 PM

Oh I really like this! It's very 2010 (Rapper/vocalist combo etc..) but it's also good! wub.gif

It's easily gonna lose to 'Groupie' though.

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:11 PM

Malena actually makes it worse...and it's not good to start with.

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 08:12 PM

You know, this is actually growing on me now. Definitely behind this to win its duel over the horror coming next.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:12 PM

Malena tho. They can make a big deal when it's like Loreen or Sanna or someone but Malena?!

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:12 PM

GROUPIE THO *.* Grown on me so much sad.gif It's way too catchy, needs to go through.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:13 PM

If the stage opened up and swallowed this pair I think that would be the only way this performance could be anything other than sensual rape of every kind

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:13 PM

I'm in love with Viktor wub.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:14 PM

This song seriously never leaves my head laugh.gif Groupie for the final!

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:14 PM

Nothing wrong with roping in a DECENT performer to raise the number on stage to ONE. You can't blame Behrang.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:15 PM

The problem I have with this song (aside from them being utter twats) is that it's the kind of HIDEOUSLY OFFENSIVELY LAZY shit people lap up all the time at the expense of actually good pop music. It's not their fault, but they could have made a not shit song.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:15 PM

Conchita impakt on the stage behind <3

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:17 PM

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 08:18 PM

Groupie needs to stop growing on me.. like a rash sad.gif Still hope it doesn't get through (yes, of course it's happening but...) because as much as the tune isn't too bad anymore, the lyrics remain offensively awful.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th March 2015, 08:20 PM

I have no idea what to make of that! It was a fun performance, but the song is utter trash in every sense of the word! I think I quite like it :\

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:24 PM

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:27 PM

YES!

Literally got the 4 I wanted tonight.

THIS YEAR HAS GONE SO PERFECT ASIDE FROM DOLLY/DINAH BEING PAIRED TOGETHER but arguably noen of Dinah and Dolly might have made it otherwise. SO PERFECT.

SO HAPPY.

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 08:28 PM

Groupie *.*

Pleased for Dinah, even though I haven't yet warmed to it much for some reason. Lots of good pure pop representation in the final this year which is nice to see, and not ALL of it by hugely well known artists.

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:29 PM

Gutted for Hello Hi, like I said it has that magic that Make Me La La La doesn't, as much as that's a great song.

Groupie though wub.gif Much better than that Behrang borefest.

Posted by: J▼hnkm 7th March 2015, 08:31 PM

So I got 1 out of 4 I wanted in the final, oops

Still it was a decent year overall in terms of what made it out of what I liked so can't complain too much (until next week when Mans wins)

Posted by: LexC 7th March 2015, 08:32 PM

Running order predix

01 Sting
02 Building It Up
03 Forever Starts Today
04 Don't Stop
05 Can't Hurt Me Now
06 Mot mig I Gamla Stan
07 Guild och grona skogar
08 Make Me (La La La)
09 Jag ar fri
10 Groupie
11 Don't Stop Believing
12 Heroes

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 08:33 PM

2/4 for me but in fairness I really like Make Me La La La (I'm just really gutted for Dolly Style) so we'll say 2.5/4.

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th March 2015, 08:33 PM

Well I would've like Kristin Amparo to make it over Hasse, but I do enjoy his song live so I can't really complain as that is the only thing that's gone wrong this year!

My final running order predictions:
1. Eric Saade
2. Hasse Andersson
3. Linus Svenning
4. Magnus Carlsson
5. Isa
6. Mariette
7. JTR
8. Jessica Andersson
9. Dinah Nah
10. Mans Zelmerlow
11. Samir & Viktor
12. Jon Henrik Fjallgren

Posted by: Iz~ 7th March 2015, 08:37 PM

I would say this year has gone great but all four of the 5th placers were songs I would have loved to have seen progress, especially over most of the ones they were up against in Globen or Bust, so in that sort of way, it really HASN'T.

But Andra Chansen has gone QUITE well, with the first 2 duels going as I wanted them to, I don't have anything against Dinah even if I'm still gutted over Dolly Style, and Groupie was inevitable and it didn't even knock out a particularly good song.

Posted by: Robot 7th March 2015, 08:39 PM

Running order prediction:

01 Eric Saade - 'Sting'
02 Linus Svenning - 'Forever Starts Today'
03 Dinah Nah - 'Make Me (La La La)
04 JTR - 'Building It Up'
05 Jessica Andersson - 'Can't Hurt Me Now'
06 Magnus Carlsson - 'Möt mig i Gamla stan'
07 Isa - 'Don't Stop'
08 Hasse Andersson - 'Guld och gröna skogar'
09 Mariette - 'Don't Stop Believing'
10 Jon Henrik-Fjallgren - 'Jag ar fri'
11 Samir & Viktor - 'Groupie'
12 Mans Zelmerlow 'Heroes'

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th March 2015, 09:40 PM

FINAL ORDER

1. Samir & Viktor – ”Groupie”

2. JTR – ”Building It Up”

3. Dinah Nah – ”Make Me (La La La)”

4. Jon Henrik Fjällgren – ”Jag är fri (Manne leam frijje)”

5. Jessica Andersson – ”Can’t Hurt Me Now”

6. Måns Zelmerlöw – ”Heroes”

7. Linus Svenning – ”Forever Starts Today”

8. Isa – ”Don’t Stop”

9. Magnus Carlsson – ”Möt mig i Gamla stan”

10. Eric Saade – ”Sting”

12. Hasse Andersson – ”Guld och gröna skogar”

WHAT THE FUCK HASSES PIMP SLOT?!?!

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 09:54 PM

Ugh at Heroes being placed in the middle, why is Christer trolling us? Hasse could actually come top five *.*

Posted by: LexC 7th March 2015, 10:07 PM

Jon Henrik in fourth though *.*

Posted by: Liаm 7th March 2015, 10:08 PM

Hopefully Don't Stop, Don't Stop Believng and Sting being in the second half means they have a chance. The running order makes me think maybe it's a bit more than a two horse race... Who knows? ohmy.gif

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th March 2015, 10:55 PM

I see Saade's been put as far away from S&V and JTR as possible. After two references in last week's deltavling, Christer must be desperate for him to win.

Posted by: AdamAloud 7th March 2015, 11:39 PM

OK after listening through the finalists in perf order, this is my initial prediction for the results:

1. Mans
2. Eric
3. Isa
4. Jon Henrik
5. Mariette
6. Hasse Andersson
7. Jessica Andersson
8. Dinah Nah
9. Samir & Viktor
10. Magnus Carlsson
11. Linus Svenning
12. JTR

Still think we're on for a Mans victory. Isa really stood out and I think she'll do well with the juries. Magnus sadly got forgotten inbetween Isa and Eric and I don't think the juries will much go for it. Linus/JTR bottom 2 seems pretty certain.

Posted by: Ryan. 7th March 2015, 11:41 PM

Isa confirming her Big 5 status! tongue.gif

Posted by: LexC 7th March 2015, 11:43 PM

I'm petty sure I said this last year but just to refresh your memories, the juries in MF aren't the same beasts they are in ESC given that they're virtually all gay male schlager nerds (or at least pre-disposed to be schlager nerds). Underestimate Magnus at your own risk!

Posted by: gooddelta 7th March 2015, 11:55 PM

Hopefully Jessica's autopilot filler will finish last. It's a pretty strong final overall actually. My personal ranking would be:

1. Mans 11/10
2. Mariette 9/10
3. Isa 9/10
4. Samir & Viktor 8.5/10
5. Jon Henrik 8.5/10
6. Hasse 8/10
7. Dinah 8/10
8. Eric 7.5/10
9. JTR 7.5/10
10. Magnus 7.5/10
11. Linus 7.5/10
12. Jessica 6/10

PRAYING for a Mans win, but would be happy with any of my top five. Sting wouldn't be a disaster but I personally hate acts returning to Eurovision unless they've brought a stronger song along with them than before. And it's CERTAINLY no Popular.

"Euphoria" was 6th in the running order, admittedly with two less songs in the final, and it still won with a landslide.

It's Måns to lose if we listen to the hype (same hype that gave Nanne Grönvall that result?), but I can see Mariette looming in on her dark horse in that 10th slot. Perfect for gathering some televotes and I can see the juries lapping it up.

Meanwhile, amen to her Holiness, qualifying to Stockholm and sending those trolls back into Yohio's little pink furry box.

I am DINAH, I am DINAH, I'm still DINAH HELLO BYE.

I shall rankandrate the finalists now because I can

01 Jessica 10/10
02 Mariette 10/10
03 Eric 09/10
04 Mans 08/10
05 Linus 08/10
06 Isa 07/10
07 JTR 07/10
08 Dinah 06/10
09 Hasse 06/10
10 Magnus 05/10
11 Samir & Viktor 01/10
12 Jon Henrik 01/10

Posted by: Aaron. 8th March 2015, 01:25 AM

Let's hope we have the same jury from 2009 who gave Mans 21 more points than the Jury's second favorite and 58 more points than who actually won.

Posted by: Liаm 8th March 2015, 02:05 AM

01 Isa 10/10 (basic af I know but I would stan something that sounds so much like Shake It Off *.*)
02 Mariette 10/10
03 Mans 9/10
04 Eric 9/10
05 Samir & Viktor 8.5/10
06 Dinah 8.5/10
07 Linus 8/10
08 Jessica 7.5/10
09 Hasse 6/10
10 Magnus 3/10
11 Jon Henrik 1/10
12 JTR 1/10

Jon Henrik only saved by my existing JTR hatred laugh.gif Would more than happy then any of the top 4 winning. Anything down to Dinah would be at least fine, would be underwhelmed or horrified by others!

Posted by: Conderella 8th March 2015, 10:07 AM

01 Mariette 11/10
02 Dinah Nah 10/10
03 Jon Henrik 9.5/10
04 Eric 9/10
05 Mans 8.5/10
06 Linus 8.5/10
-----
07 Isa 7/10
08 Magnus 7/10
09 Jessica 5/10
10 Hasse 5/10
11 Samm & Vikki 4/10
12 JTR death/10

LOL Hasse getting that pimp slot. AND HE (PROBABLY, UNLESS CHRISTER IS INTO THAT NOW) DIDNT HAVE TO PUT OUT!

Posted by: Iz~ 8th March 2015, 11:59 AM

01 Jon Henrik 10/10
02 Mariette 9.5/10
03 Hasse 9/10
04 Linus 9/10
05 Dinah Nah 8/10
06 Mans 8/10
07 Jessica 7.5/10
08 Isa 7/10
09 Eric 7/10
10 Magnus 7/10
11 Samir & Viktor 3/10
12 JTR 0/10

I fear I've got myself into the position where only Jon Henrik winning will be acceptable. Although realistically I'd be fine with Mariette. I'd just be underwhelmed by Mans winning at this stage, I've decided it really can't compare with his last two entries.

Posted by: gooddelta 8th March 2015, 12:04 PM

Anyone got a list of MF 2015 acts that have albums scheduled off the back of their participation, there are usually 5 or 6 at least!

DYING for a new Mans pop album, The Barcelona Sessions had its moments but was largely dull.

Posted by: Aaron. 8th March 2015, 05:26 PM

My Ideal Finale Result:

I need Måns to slay this. Mariette would be a deserving 2nd place and Dinah needs retribution for Dolly Style as well. Jon finishing 4th proves a point as well - you're the favorite? Well.. Three other stronger people beat you out. Also good on Magnus for not being horrible either.
01: Måns Zelmerlöw - Heroes
02: Mariette - Don't Stop Believing
03: Dinah Nah - Make Me (La La La)
04: Jon Henrik Fjällgren - Jag är fri (Manne Leam Frijje)
05: Magnus Carlsson - Möt mig i Gamla sta

These three are only just slightly worse than the last 4. I stuck Hasse in the middle only because Groupie is somewhat fun, but has anyone even mentioned Jessica Anderson since her heat?
06: Samir & Viktor - Groupie
07: Hasse Andersson - Guld och grona skogar
08: Jessica Anderson - Can't Hurt Me Now

Let this be a lesson to all four not to bring generic pop crap to Melodifestivalen. They all played it too safe and I honestly want Saade to feel the "STING" and crash and burn in last place.
09th: Linus Svenning - Forever Starts Today
10th: Isa - Don't Stop
11th: JTR - Building It Up
12th: Eric Saade - Sting

Posted by: Robot 8th March 2015, 06:45 PM

Literally every song in the final is a 7/10 or above for me. Hasse's song has grown on me so much, it's probably just Mariette and Jessica's songs I'm not really fussed over but they're both still 'good'.

Strong strong final.

Posted by: AdamAloud 8th March 2015, 07:05 PM

1. Dinah Nah 10/10
2. Måns Zelmerlöw 10/10
3. Eric Saade 9/10
4. Magnus Carlsson 9/10

Really strong quality final, even the bottom 2 have their charms when performed live and I don't *hate* them by any means. Probably going to be WITCH-HUNTED by all of you except Rob but I haven't gone back to Mariette's song since her heat.

Mariette's song IS fantastic but it's definitely not 'nuphoria' (it still lacks *something* though I'm not sure what) and I have no huge desire to see her win (though I'd be happy enough with it as Sweden's entry).

The hype it got during its heat seems to have died off a lot for some reason anyway. I guess Jon and Mans just completely out-hyped it and she's been forgotten.

45. Midnight Boy - Don't Say No
48. Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone - Det rår vi inte för
53. Caroline Wennergren - Black Swan
59. Molly Pettersson Hammar - I'll Be Fine
60. Jessica Andersson - Can't Hurt Me Now
80. JTR - Building It Up

115. Andreas Johnson - Living To Die
124. Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg - One By One

It's looking more and more obvious to a top 3 of Måns, Jon Henrik and Eric. Mariette doesn't like she'll be a top 5 now either.

Predix for the finishing order on Saturday

01 Mans
02 Mariette
03 Eric
04 Jon Henrik
05 Isa
06 Magnus
07 Hasse
08 Samir & Viktor
09 Jessica
10 Dinah
11 Linus
12 JTR

Fairly certain vi har en vinnare with Mans and the next three will be the chasing pack. Jessica won't be a total dead loss since she's the only ballad but I don't think she'll be strong enough to get much higher than 9th. JTR should bomb out totally with the jury and with Mans, Eric and Samir & Viktor also in the mix, whatever televote niche they'll have will be completely swallowed up.

It's been noted, which perhaps is coincidental but knowing Christer, it quite possibly isn't, (although it was only Russia of these four who were in the jury last year) Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia are the only four countries with a notable Sami culture, yet none of them are in the jury, which could potentially harm Jon-Henrik even more.

ALSO worth noting, 'Popular' received 12's from only three juries in 2011. All three of these countries are in the jury this year.

Yes, I'm clutching at straws and it's f***ING FUN.

THAT PERFORMANCE

Even though I'd already seen you put 'Minaj rap' my mouth still did a literal ohmy.gif of both shock, happiness and any other emotion which describes the sheer JOY Queenah brings to me.

I really like Make Me (La La La) in the studio version, but her live vocals are very poor especially in the verses (Ace was a lot better than Dinah) if her heat performance is anything to go by. I much preferred Dolly Style both live and in studio version sad.gif

I think her Andra Chansen vocals were MUCH better and that seems to be the general consenus actually. It doesn't really bother me that much though personally, Ace's vocals were weak as f*** last year but the song was amazing enough to cancel it out.

I don't really expect amazing vocals from someone singing a pretty tacky dance track really, that's not what you go the genre for, but for what she's singing, I think she does a competent job vocally!

And her vocals were UNDOUBTEDLY better than Dolly Style's in AC aswell, who seemed weaker both vocally and in their dance moves.

Besides as much as I liked Dolly Style, most of their performance was from the backing track, which they would lose for Eurovision.

Surely not UNDOUBTEDLY since SOMEONE DID DOUBT
