A new NYT feature with Ms Clarkson confirms that a new Christmas album from her will be released this year! "Clarkson — who is simultaneously preparing a new Christmas album for release later this year — said there was still value in trying to produce positive, uplifting entertainment" - https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/09/arts/television/kelly-clarkson-show.html
Very intrigued to see if there will be a banger as good as 'Underneath the Tree'..
I mean, I adore 'Underneath The Tree' but I think all artists should be limited to just one Christmas album in their career.
Her first one had some great songs, and that stand alone Christmas song from a few years ago was really nice too.
What happened to 'I Dare You' and the regular album that she was working on?
God damn I was hoping for a My December part 2 not Wrapped In Red part 2. But new Kelly is better than no Kelly so
Her first Christmas album is the best Christmas album imo. A STORMING selection of songs and some really brilliant originals! 'Winter Dreams (B*andon's Song)' is absolutely MAGICAL and exactly what a Christmas song should be
I'm so excited!
i just think 'wrapped in red' is so wonderful... i don't think she'll be able to top it!
I can’t wait! I don’t think she will top Wrapped In Red though
Looking forward to this mainly because A I love Christmas music and 2 I have been listening to ‘Wrapped In Red’ only over the past few decembers.
i really get the sense this'll be a 10 track, mainly covers event... a quick cash in for the new series of the voice and the tv show...
Her first christmas album was recieved well so I hope she doesnt just go for a 10 track covers album this time.
Is it a coincidence that the A Moment Like This singers, who were the first female winners of American Idol / X Factor, are both releasing another Christmas album this year, following their first Christmas albums that were released in 2013?
She's had some incredible one off Xmas singles since Wrapped in Red, so I have high hopes - but I'd much rather have a "normal" album :/
Revealed by an insider that "Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Only You)", the lead single, comes out next Friday.
Excellent time to release!
Not!
It’ll peak in Christmas 2034 anyway!
Ha, if that’s the title of the single I love it!
haha ys great single title
but what happened with her planned regular non-Xmas album?
The title sounds like a Christmas break up song to me.
Well if it is she’s the perfect artist to deliver it. Well maybe alongside Adele.
that title sounds awful.
thats not quite true... i think their just trying to launch her as a AC-style artist.
I think there’s still love in Kelly Clarkson’s music career. She could still be an ok album seller.
she probably just doesn’t have the time for a full campaign right now. she’s got 2 tv shows to record
I'm not sure making light of cancel culture for a Christmas song is a good idea but maybe that's just me xx
well the direction i imagine she's going in... xmas album first, followed by an AC-style album next year.
I’m all here for AC Kelly, assuming it’s an album of Standing In Front Of You style songs.
Also love the title, it’s very Kelly and appropriate both given her current circumstances and as a bookend with the last Christmas album which was a paean to Brandon and this which is…the exact opposite.
The title of her new single is actually "Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You)" and it will be released on September 23.
Details of Kellys second Christmas album have been announced.
When Christmas Comes Around... will be released on Friday October 15.
The album's standard edition features twelve tracks including the album's lead single Christmas isn’t Canceled (just you) plus covers of It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Santa Baby and Last Christmas.
Original songs on the tracklist include Ariana Grande collaboration Santa, Can't You Hear Me, and Glow, a duet with country singer Chris Stapleton.
The deluxe version of When Christmas Comes Around... features three standalone Xmas tracks Kelly has released over the last few years, including 2017's Christmas Eve, and 2020's Under The Mistletoe with Brett Eldredge and All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Kelly's first Christmas album Wrapped In Red spawned the smash hit single Underneath The Tree, which reached a new peak of Number 15 on the Official Singles Chart in December 2020. Underneath The Tree is BRIT Certified Platinum with 780,000 chart sales in the U.K.

oh those are such boring covers... jingle bell rock, last christmas, santa baby???
Kelly & Ari!????
YES YES YES OMFG
A lot of the same boring covers done by other artists. Doesn’t really interest me although I love Kelly!
I like a lot of tgose songs, but not the old crooners, so now I wcan listen to them with someone more modern belting them oot
i don't know why i'm surprised but this is exceptional! (Kinda has a slight interpole of 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'??
I really like this. Looking forward to the album.
On first listen I don't think it's anything special... maybe a grower.
A BOP!
Hmm I don't know yet. I will need to hear it in context for Christmas, but it doesn't sound excellent yet.
I was hoping for a Matt Terry cover!
sounds great on 1st listen, especially the verses
Listening now!
01. Merry Christmas Baby > Oh this isn't nearly as bland as I feared it would be by the clip! It's the complete opposite. So classy and GRAND. Beautiful! Her VOX! < 09.0
02. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas > A song that's been done to death. Not sure I've really ever got the hype over any version, but I do like this one - obvz looool. < 07.5
03. Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You) > A BOP. I love this one a LOT. Hope it can somehow gain some traction and become a hit of some sort. < 10.0
04. Merry Christmas (To the One I Used To Know) > This is very Disney Princess! I can definitely imagine it in a Disney movie. Ugh. She'd be the perfect Princess. It's so nice! < 08.0
05. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree > Another one that's been done to death. This is cute, but it ain't my fave version. < 07.0
06. Glow > This could be a grower, once I get used to Chris' voice at least. It's good. A bit all over the place and needs another listen or two I think, but niiiice. < 07.0
07. Santa Baby > Her voice is too big and powerful for this song which I always thought suited the more minimal & sensual vocals a lot better. But I've never really cared for this song tbh. Decent but meh. Another song that has been overdone. < 06.0
08. Santa, Can't You Hear Me > I LOVE THIS!!! WOWWWW. Their voices go so well together! < 10.0
09. Last Christmas > Very classy. A version you'd hear in a jazz or wine bar or something. It's rather lovely and different to the other versions out there! < 07.0
10. Jingle Bell Rock > A cute version! She has such a consistent and "classy" sound throughout this album and it really suits her. The fun in this song is still felt! < 07.5
11. Blessed > OH THIS IS GORGEOUS! HOLY WOW! SHIVERS. OBSESSED SHIIIIIITTTTTT!!!! < 10.0
12. Christmas Come Early > Really, really nice! Really quite beautiful! Quite haunting and really lovely! < 08.0
13. Under the Mistletoe > This is so underrated! Such a bop. Glad it's on an album now! < 09.0
14. All I Want For Christmas Is You > I heard this once and never went back to it. But it's cute. Think I was just upset it wasn't a cover of Mariah lmao. < 06.0
15. Christmas Eve > YYYYAAAASSSS!!! BOP BOP BOP! SO UNDERRATED. Glad it's on the album! < 10.0

Nowhere near as good as 'Wrapped In Red' but honestly did anyone expect it to be? The originals are so, SO strong though. It's the covers that kinda drag this down a little, but that's OK for a Christmas album. Especially as they're really not that bad. 'Blessed' is seriously stunning though. I'm still recovering from the spine tingles. I love the Ari duet too and 'Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You)' is incred.
A solid follow up tbh. A bit more mature and a lot of "classy" moments that really hone in on her soulful and powerful vocals.
Is it wrong to listen to this now?
Would be good if she released the Ariana duet and see if she can get a Christmas hit!
The previews didn't wow me but I'm thinking I'll need to check this out anyway.
I'm stuck on 'Blessed' tbh. It's so stunning!
Although I'm not feeling at all festive yet I did have a listen because Kelly, and it's good! Looking forward to delving into it more in December.
Merry Christmas Baby, Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You), Santa, Can't You Hear Me, Blessed and Christmas Come Early have all been added to my Christmas playlist. Not sure I'll return to any of the covers though.
The covers are entirely superfluous (and actually not great arrangements for the most part) but the originals are fantastic. Blessed is Kelly by numbers but when the numbers are THAT good who cares. Santa is also brilliant. Added everything bar the covers to my Christmas playlist.
Completely agree, I guess the rendition of Last Christmas is vaguely interesting to hear in that style but I'm not going to take it over Wham!
I should mention, when I said had a listen, I actually bought the CD! Contributing to no doubt tens of UK sales she'll get from a Christmas album in October.
Did this not chart? (Yet)?
I’ve only listened once so far, will listen more next month probably
So... Has this completely bombed globally?
I expected the album to find a Top 100 placement and it could achieve this in the next 2-3 weeks.
It's a shame it hasn't charted yet. Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You) is probably my favourite new Christmas song this year.
as predicted, radio is pushing the Ariana duet.
Christmas Isn’t Canceled up to 4 on the Bubbling Under chart in America.
Which makes it #104, hopefully top 100 next week.
So, this stellar live version of 'Santa Can't You Hear Me' from Kelly's show last year, with Ari...
Is actually now on streaming!!
YYYAAASSSS!
I hope her Christmas album can chart top 100 this year.
Added this album to my Xmas playlist and it’s quite decent a fair few new songs!
I've been playing Santa, Can't You Hear Me LOADS so far this year, it didn't wow me last year, but it's definitely worked its magic at this stage. I do still prefer Blessed (and Christmas Eve, if we're including the older stuff as well) but the bar is set VERY HIGH.
Kelly Christmas top 10 (originals only):
01 Underneath The Tree
02 Winter Dreams
03 Christmas Eve
04 Blessed
05 Santa, Can't You Hear Me
06 Under The Mistletoe
07 Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You)
08 Merry Christmas (To The One I Used To Know)
09 Wrapped In Red
10 Every Christmas
'Santa Can't You Hear Me' is up to 48 in the charts this week
A new peak is looking extremely likely either this week or the Christmas week
Is that not where it peaked last week so it has stayed the same so far this week?
It's peak is 37!
Not sure it's done enough this week after all, but I really hope it manages it next week!
Yeh I meant last week that was it’s position, it should repeak before January anyway!
She has 3 Christmas tracks in the top 60 midweeks!!!
Underneath the Tree, Santa Can’t You Hear Me & (rather surprisingly - but it’s a biiiig bop) Under the Mistletoe!!
Is Under the Mistletoe on her first album then re-recorded for the newer one?
Nope. It was released after her first Christmas album!
Cool thanks it’s a really nice version on the newer album then!
Kelly doesn’t miss when it comes to Christmas songs though so fair play to her!
New peak for Santa Can’t You Hear Me!!!
Hopefully a new peak next year before it’s moved to permanent ACR!
'Under The Miseltoe' also gets a new peak of #61! I'm yet to hear her newer Christmas stuff but I'm glad she's managed to maintain 2 Christmas songs in the top 40!
Great to see her Christmas album has finally made the top 100 at number 94 this week aswell.
I love Under the Mistletoe! I’m glad that it got more attention this year. Also really pleased that Santa Can’t You Hear Me managed a new peak. [+ Underneath the Tree, of course]
I actually bought the album on vinyl the other day because it was reduced to £15.99. Had a listen to it yesterday to check that there were no defects. Had a good time listening to it even if it was 5 days after Christmas Day!
Kelly the new queen of Xmas, Underneath the tree for next years #1!!!!
Ya the Christmas is good to her and improving each year too which is great.
