So the trailer has leaked online and

OH

MY

FUCKING

GOD!

http://www.thedailybeast.com/avengers-infinity-war-watch-the-leaked-trailer-that-won-comic-con

HQ NOW PLEASE!

I AM CRYING. LITERALLY!

IF THIS ISN'T THE MOVIE EVENT OF THE DECADE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS TBH.

(Also, I shall neaten this opening post up more when we get it in HQ etc.. but right now I can't contain my excitement!)

Posted by: White Mustang 24th July 2017, 09:16 AM

I'm so so so so excited for this. I started making a thread for it the other day but forgot to post it.

I really hope all the characters are well balanced like they were in Civil War but weren't in AOU, because there's a lot.

Posted by: Saenerys 24th July 2017, 09:21 AM

I haven't seen either of the GOTG films but I think I might on the back of that trailer. Looking jam packed in that trailer but can't wait for the HQ!!! wub.gif

I can't help but feel like this is going to be much less then the sum of its part. That's in part due to Ultron being an enormous letdown, slight MCU fatigue (despite the films being largely still very good) and also the fact there's about 50 trillion different characters that we're unlikely to get all that much time with each.

I trust Russo brothers though, they made Winter Solider amazing and managed Civil War, and that had a larger ensemble than Ultron, and they gave every character a good narrative despite some of them having limited screen time, I really do think they know what they're doing.

Gonna avoid anything IW related until proper stuff comes out. For now I'll settle for Sebby's IG pics of his new BuckyBod http://68.media.tumblr.com/d2d4345836483fe61a157676c84f6cb8/tumblr_otin4zgOk01wtj9roo3_1280.jpg

Is Ant Man in this or not?

Posted by: Jonjo 24th July 2017, 01:18 PM

Tbh, I didn't see any of the characters Captain America went back for at the end of Civil War (Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Falcon, Captain America himself) so I assume he's still trying to release them at this point?

Posted by: Shaphne 24th July 2017, 01:21 PM

Prety sure they're in it. Wasn't Mackie at the Disney panel thing for this?

Posted by: Jonjo 24th July 2017, 01:30 PM

Yeah they're def in it. Just not the trailer.

I also didnt notice Cap until now as I thought it was Quicksilver returning from the dead in the trailer lmao.

IF ONLY

From what I read on sebby's tumblr tag: Bucky, Black Panther and Scarlet Witch are involved in a huge fight in Wakanda and Cap is all rugged and beardy

Posted by: White Mustang 24th July 2017, 01:42 PM

Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Falcon are all in the poster above. Ant Man isn't, unless he's hidden somewhere.

Well Winter Soldier is incredible, the absolute high point of the franchise, however Civil War was pretty badly paced and lacklustre. They did at least manage the numbers pretty well, at least.

Posted by: Jonjo 24th July 2017, 05:27 PM

Well, IMDB have Paul Rudd listed in the cast and I'm fairly certain I read from an interview he did that he was going to be in it. I'm actually going to be upset if he isn't in it sad.gif

Ant Man is on Iron Man's shoulder in the poster btw!

Wait. No he's not! Well he is on one poster I saw, but not on thw one Chris Evans tweeted! I'm so confused!!!

I think a fan edited him it maybe?

Trailer is 2 days away! Russo Brothers are teasing with numbers so it's unclear whether it went 3-2-1-Trailer or 3-2-trailer. If the latter, we'll get it tomorrow, if not, Thursday!

Officially tomorrow.

Officially.

Tomorrow.

IT

LOOKS

INCREDIBLE

Posted by: Jonjo 29th November 2017, 01:47 PM

It's already the greatest movie I have ever seen tbh. That looked so much "grander" than I ever expected it to look! The scene of the armies running towards each other gave me legit chills and made it look LOTR esque.

I can't cope. Having a breakdown. sad.gif HELP MEEEEEESS

Posted by: PaulM1983 29th November 2017, 05:19 PM

The trailer is absolutely, 100% epic. I got chills. This isn't going to be just a movie. It'll be an event.

But I'm even more excited at what's to come in the next trailer. There are some amazing scenes from the original leaked footage that aren't in this one.

Posted by: Josh! 30th November 2017, 06:24 PM

An excellent trailer, I honestly think this could well be the most hyped I've ever been for a movie in my entire life (I almost died when Thor and GOTG met at the end!!

I just don't know if I'm emotionally prepared for the consequences of Infinity War though, I know I'll be distraught if any of my faves (Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch etc.) die and it's probably likely that at least one will be killed off laugh.gif drama.gif cry.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 30th November 2017, 08:54 PM

Saaaame. Take Vision & War Machine, I don't mind. But pretty much anyone else.... cry.gif

The shot at the beginning with Tony holding something/someone close to his chest really gets me thinking it's gonna be a huge death... And I am NOT PREPARED!! (I feel like it could be Spider-man. Which will be heartbreaking enough, but with Tom doing such an incredible job... I'm gonna be an emotional wreck!!!!)

But PLEASEEEEE. LEAVE CAP ALONE. cry.gif

Posted by: Klaus 30th November 2017, 09:07 PM

Pleeeease kill off War Machine!! I was actually gutted when it was revealed he survived the fall in Civil War sad.gif

Vision can definitely go too and I wouldn’t be bothered about Falcon and maybe Hawkeye.

I am curious perhaps more for the fourth Avengers film as it definitely feels like they’re wanting it to be closure on the ‘old guard’. The likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth can’t keep doing this forever! Iron Man will have been a main star of 9 (!) movies by the end of Avengers 4. Have there been any other movie characters (played by the same person) appearing in more movies??

I'm starting to suspect this a little too as it would be such a shock death but would still make room for them to continue the character with Miles Morales in the future. I'd be so upset with that though because Tom Holland is PERFECT as Peter Parker and we wouldn't have seen nearly enough of him in the role cry.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 30th November 2017, 09:56 PM

This is the fastest viewed trailer of all time with 280 million views in 24 hours!!

Astonishing! ohmy.gif

Trying to find a gif of the shot where they're running towards the camera and use it as my sig, but stupid signature restrictions... Ffs. cry.gif

Desmond Llewelyn played Q for 17 movies in the Bond films. Not a major character admittedly but same guy, same character.

Christopher Lee also portrayed Dracula in 10 different films and Basil Rathbone was Sherlock Holmes for 14, so Downey Jr. needs to sign a new contract if he hopes to beat them

I just looked this up. There's loads, notable one are anyone of the main characters in Harry Potter did 8, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Johnny Weismuller as Tarzan (12), Johnny Weismuller as Jungle Jim (16), Bernard Lee as M did 12 in the bond franchise, Mickey Rooney as Andy Hardy (16) but the all time winners are Arthur Lake and Penny Singleton as Dagwood and Blondie—28 films in total

Posted by: Klampus 1st December 2017, 10:26 AM

Oh that’s interesting! Lots more than I thought ohmy.gif

Posted by: PaulM1983 1st December 2017, 01:59 PM

Not quite as many but Robert Englund has played Freddy Krueger 8 times too.

But yeah, I cannot wait for the next trailer. And I know I'm not going to be emotionally prepared for losing our Avengers over these next 2 movies. Oh lord, it's going to be gut-wrenching.

Just watched the trailer again out of pure hype and need for this to come soon, doesn't the trailer show Thanos taking Vision's infinity stone and therefore effectively killing him? I mean I'm 99% sure Vision can't be Vision without the stone so isn't that a character death already? unsure.gif

Predicts for full deaths:
Black Widow - I don't see how she can progress anymore in the Marvel universe and when it comes down to it there are many other characters with less-than-super abilities that could take her place in the group whilst still giving her death a huge impact on the rest of the characters (especially Cap & Bruce/Hulk). It's a shame because I love Scarlet in this role and think it's her best yet, but I think 2018 is her end
Vision - Like I said before I'm pretty sure Thanos took Vision's infinity stole and thus his soul or whatever. And even if not that, I think Vision will be gone in either the first or second installment.
Nick Fury - I really don't want this to happen but he's already faked his death & escaped dying a few times so this could be the end of Nick Fury. While this is a shame, it would allow Maria (Cobie) to take over as the sort of Avengers leader/guidance counselor which I'm looking forward to laugh.gif Alternatively Maria could die, but that wouldn't have as much of an impact
Rocket Raccoon - As above, I really f***ing hope this doesn't happen but it easily could. Either him or Groot, and then the remaining of the two would have a big vengeance kick and give Thanos or one of his minions a run for their money
Bucky or Captain America - Either Bucky will die in a sort of sacrifice scene trying to show how he's a better person now, or Captain will die and Bucky will eventually take over as Captain American. I'm not really sure but both allow for [i]a lot[/b] of future content
Spiderman - I don't think this should or will happen, at least not in the first installment. Tom is only just getting into the role and he is absolutely smashing it. It would be a huge waste to kill him off now, even if it would allow for a Miles Spidey.
The Collector - Thanos' tool who has been sort of useful but won't be of any use to Thanos after the war really (providing he wins).

Other stuff:
- With the last two there, I think killing either Captain or Spidey is a valid option. Both of their current characters actually have valid replacements (Captain Bucky, Miles-Man) which would work very very well on screen. However, I doubt they'd go ahead with replacing both of them around the same time..
- I think that The Collector will die at the end of Part 1. I think he & maybe Rocket or Spidey or someone will be having a little 1v1 battle and end up pretty much killing each other before more of the gang shows up to finish off the Collector - but without enough time to save [insert hero's name here]'s life. Part 1 will finish with Thanos clearly winning (after killing another character, possibly Nick Fury) and laughing at everyone who's crying over the deaths. End scene (with Ant-Man & the Wasp post-credits), wait a year, movie picks up where it left off and the battle resumes. Captain dies at the end and Bucky takes over as Captain Bucky.
- I would love to see Pepper again, maybe even reprising her little role as Iron Woman and helping out Tony
- Thanos killing Nick would be impactful and fitting really. Both are essentially the big guys of their respective sides in the war so one killing the other (and Nick is obviously not gonna be able to kill Thanos) would really show everyone how powerful Thanos really is. Anyone could kill Nick, but Thanos is the only one with the strength & balls to actually do it.
- I'm still yet to see Doctor Strange, but by the looks of things there are only really two characters from there coming into the war so I doubt either of them will die.
- I want Howard the Duck to return laugh.gif

In reference to your first point - https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/10/16876218/marvel-black-widow-standalone-movie-screenwriter Not sure it needs spoiler tags but didn't want to ruin your air of mystery

Posted by: Regina 31st January 2018, 12:21 PM

BUCKY WILL NOT DIE. Mainly cause I believe Sebby has a few more movies in his contract.

Posted by: Joe. 31st January 2018, 12:25 PM

Do we need to put predictions as to who might die in spoiler tags? There’s nothing for any of us to go on at the moment, so it’s all speculation.

Personally I think War Machine, Vision and Falcon are possible deaths. Cap of Iron Man if they want big deaths.

Posted by: Dexton 1st February 2018, 04:24 AM

Ah so Black Widow & Bucky aren’t gonna die biggrin.gif Captain probabaly then tbh. Maybe War Machind too I forgot about him

Posted by: Jonjo 1st February 2018, 01:04 PM

Predictions of deaths no spoiler. Potential "following the comic books" deaths/rumoured reports etc.. please spoiler. I know this sounds really anal and I'm sorry but I want to know as little as possible haha. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Joe. 1st February 2018, 01:22 PM

Agreed ^ Although there's not really much to go off from the comic books for this, they could go down any route. There might not even be any deaths!

Though I think the Avengers team is a bit crowded now, we could lose a few. We have:

Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
Bucky / Winter Soldier
Black Widow
Hawkeye
Hulk
Black Widow
Star Lord
Gamora
Teen Groot
Rocket
Drax
Mantis
Nebula
Ant Man
The Wasp
Black Panther
Vision
War Machine
Falcon
Dr Strange
Spider-Man

That's 23 and then you have Loki (if he counts as an Avenger), Black Panther looks like he's bringing Okoye and Shuri to the Infinity War and there's Captain Marvel too! That's 27! Kill some!

Crazy we've gone from 6 in the first Avengers to 9 in the second Avengers to this!

Posted by: Regina 1st February 2018, 01:41 PM

Except not all of them are even Avengers. Just because they join together to fight Thanos does not mean they are Avengers.
Even if they did join after IW, it's not like they all need to be in every Avengers movie.

Bucky, the Guardians, Dr Strange, Black Panther and pretty cuh all Team Cap won't count as Avengers.

In the comics there are literally different teams of Avengers and probs hundreds of members and people who are stand by Avengers.

And it's been confirmed that some people are going to die in this.

Posted by: Joe. 1st February 2018, 01:50 PM

Okay, well fighting with the avengers for Infinity War 1 and 2 then. I'm just saying how crazy and fast the cast seems to have grown.

Posted by: Nightcrawler 1st March 2018, 10:59 PM

Can't wait for this - the fact that they've got a worldwide release date for this suggests to me that there are going to be a tonne of surprises in the film and they're desperate for it not to be spoiled for the hardcore fans. I predict I'll end up seeing this about three times!

PS Hi Jonjo - long time no chat, hope you're well! biggrin.gif

I'm good thanks! I have visited a lot lately - lurking in the shadows laugh.gif - but I've been really into my films recently, so thought I'd start posting more here. How are you?

I don't think I can cope with the excitement either!! Soul Stone theories?

Posted by: Jonjo 1st March 2018, 11:20 PM

Yessss. We need more people around these parts! Go vote in Buzzjack Movie Awards kink.gif

In all honesty I have no idea in regards to the soul stone. I daren't look at fan theories as I try and avoid as much as possible, so I don't dare venture down that route just in case and I like to head into the films knowing as little as possible haha. I did see a theory that suggested (I'll spoiler just in case haha) 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' will be "leading us to [it]" which I think makes perfect sense!

I trust you would do your own theory/won't give too much away so feel free to share yours ofc kink.gif

Posted by: Nightcrawler 2nd March 2018, 08:40 AM

Voted tongue.gif

I don't think Ant-Man and The Wasp will have any reference to them at all - think we'll see all 6 by the end of Infinity War.

I have a couple of theories:

1. Heimdall has it: his eyes are orange and he said in Thor 2 that he could see the souls of 9 billion people.

2. Black Panther spoiler: It's in Wakanda: the heart shaped flower allows Black Panthers to communicate with the souls of their ancestors. Perhaps the soul stone came to earth with the Vibranium...

It seems odd that he won't be in it (or at least won't be in it much) as he was in Civil War and this is meant to be the biggest film yet.

Maybe Ant-Man and the Wasp will explain what happens to him

But yeah seeing as A4 will tie together all of the MCU so far then it makes sense for him to be in that one

He’s in Infinity War part 2. Him and the Wasp probably get recruited at the end of Ant Man and The Wasp after the avengers are defeated by Thanos.

I don't read the comics but here are my theories on who will die and who will definitely survive Infinity War. (All theories/trailer analysis so no spoilers)

Who will survive for sure:

Star Lord: He's the centre of the GoTG and there's the third film coming soon so he'll be okay.
Rocket, Groot, Mantis: Unlike Drax and Gamora, I think these three will be safe.
Spiderman: He has sequel coming so won't die
Black Panther: Also has a sequel coming.
Thor: I feel like they'll ride the wave of success from Ragnarok and we'll get a 4th Thor film, especially given Valkyrie and Korg will come back.
Black Widow: I'm less sure on this one but I just have a feeling she's going to be okay, especially given there's still talks of a Widow movie.
Bucky: Stan has said he has 4 more movies in his contract so I think he'll be okay. I could see him being in a future Widow movie.
Doctor Strange: He's only just starting out.

Possible deaths:
Gamora: It seems like Thanos is getting a backstory with Gamora, and it might end up with him sacrificing his 'favourite daughter' for the soul stone or something. It would be quite the shocking and heartbreaking death.
Drax: Drax is out for blood with Thanos, I can see him getting killed, he's probably the most expendable Guardian.
Iron Man: I feel like Tony could bow out in either Infinity War part 1 or 2. I can't think of much more they can do with his character and he's looking pretty beaten in the trailer
Captain America: Similar to to Cap, there is going to be a really big death in this film to keep the threat of Thanos high. I would be so sad if this happened though
Loki: Given Loki is not on the poster and is only shown with the Power Stone presumably at the start of Infinity War, I feel like Loki is the most certain death here. Looks like Thanos is making Thor watch, too. But it could be all very misleading, nothing is certain.
Vision: He has the mind stone. He's in trouble. Also he's kinda boring, but his death could lead to an interesting storyline for Wanda.

I hope Wanda is safe heart.gif

He’s in Infinity War part 2. Him and the Wasp probably get recruited at the end of Ant Man and The Wasp after the avengers are defeated by Thanos.

I will only accept this if War Machine dies within the first 5 minutes of Infinity War.

Chris Evans has already filmed Avengers 4 but has apparantly stated afte reshoots he is done with the MCU so might die in A4. I think the next Captain America movie is Fallen Son which, in the comics deals with the death iof Cap. So maybe he dies right at the end of 4 and Bucky becomes the new Cap/ Or maybe he dies in 3 and his scenes in 4 are flashbacks?

Posted by: SamJudd 24th March 2018, 11:27 PM

Already got my tickets booked for April 26th biggrin.gif + Very, very, very excited, been waiting a long time 2 c this and haven't been to the cinema since 2008 and plus it will be my first Marvel movie (in this cinematic universe) on the big screen, so that will be quite the event for me and judging by the trailers, my expectations are extremely high.

As for my thoughts on who will die or survive, personally I don't think anyone will die for real, as it's supposed to have time travel in it, dunno whether that's been confirmed or not, but if they do borrow story elements from 'The Infinity Gauntlet' comic, then I think that could happen. Several heroes getting killed then someone using the time stone to reverse time or something maybe. But anyway read that comic, it's amazing.

So it screened in full last night for the first time. The first reactions are overwhelmingly positive - "epic beyond compare", "masterpiece" and "heart-stopping" just to pick a few.

I don't think I've ever been this excited for a movie in my whole life. Thursday can't come quickly enough.

Posted by: Jonjo 24th April 2018, 11:20 PM

I'm still trying to process everything. It's SO MUCH to take in on your first viewing. But as of right now, quite simply put... it's a breath taking, edge of your seat, rompous superhero movie. It packs so much punch and such an emotional rollercoaster.

The balance of comedy and serious drama throughout is incredible. The way they've managed to use and give airtime to every single one of the heroes is quite simply astonishing. The Russo brothers have some ridiculous magic and manage to pull it off so beautifully and make it feel so natural and not so forced/give them airtime just to use them etc.. they all served a purpose and had some sort of importance.

I'm still so struck by it all. Definitely need to view it again, but I am confident it's my favourite MCU movie to date.

Posted by: Joe. 25th April 2018, 01:25 PM

I'm still a bit lost for words and am yearning for another viewing of this because I don't think anyone will be able to fully take in everything here in one sitting.

Everyone gets a decent amount of screen time, the pacing is INCREDIBLY done. It's funny, it's scary, it's chilling. The audience cheers at some parts. I love Thor. I love Okoye. My full (spoiler free) review is https://attitude.co.uk/article/avengers-infinity-war-spoiler-free-review-1/17674/, if anyone is interested.

Oh. My. Christ.

I still feel emotionally exhausted by it and I saw it several hours ago.

There’s really very little that any review can say without giving away even the slightest thing, other than this isn’t a movie. It’s an event. It’s epic and utterly astonishing. And it’s very funny.

It will be essential to see it more than once. If your emotions can take it.

Wow, the film is everything I wanted it to be and so much more.

Some of my theories actually happened but the film was very shocking and some totally unexpected things happened.

I especially loved the after credit scene.

I did have a few questions though, I'm not going to spoil anything but some characters were missing with no explanation.

I won't venture into spoiler territory at all but there was one character that was nowhere to be seen and it didn't really make any sense. Unless I missed something from their most recent movie that hints at where they would be. I really don't think so though.

And yes, the after-credits scene was fantastic!

What an incredible film omfg!

I was so shocked at the end when they killed half the characters omfgg. Bring on film 4 where they will likely all get revived

There's a Spider-Man film and a Guardians film coming up so they clearly make it through

Posted by: Popchartfreak 27th April 2018, 06:39 PM

10/10 there's very little to complain about (it's a complex plotline in different places juggling tons of characters, and there's the odd bit of cliche'd dialogue, but that's nitpicking in a very minor way).

Epic. Unexpected. Funny laugh-out-loud. Most of the audience sat talking about during the credits (and there are tons of them) for the extra scene at the end - which also takes the breath away unexpectedly.

I hardly ever give out 10/10....

Posted by: Jonjo 29th April 2018, 02:24 PM

On it's way to becoming the biggest opening weekend in US history! It's currently on course for $247.1m and the record is 'Force Awakens' at $247.96m! However, each day so far has exceeded and gone beyond it's estimations, so there is every chance this could actually beat it! ohmy.gif

So, SO deserved! wub.gif

Posted by: ¡ʎpp∀ 29th April 2018, 03:38 PM

And yes it broke all the records cheer.gif

It opened with 250 million in US and 630 million WW ohmy.gif

Posted by: PaulM1983 29th April 2018, 03:45 PM

Just saw the numbers. It's a pity it fell short of the Friday single day record or it would have had a clean sweep, as it now has the biggest Saturday, Sunday, Opening Weekend and Worldwide Weekend in history.

It's coming for the remaining records too. It will be the fastest to $1 billion without a shadow of a doubt and, if it holds well, could challenge Avatar for the domestic number 2 spot. It's not impossible for it to beat out The Force Awakens, but $950m domestically is a ridiculously tall order.

Astonishing. But so deserved.

Posted by: ¡ʎpp∀ 29th April 2018, 03:51 PM

Yeah 950 million will be hard to beat considering Star Wars was released during December holiday season where more people go out to watch movies with families etc etc.

Yeah that really won't happen, but it should easily manage a 3x multiplier for $750m. It might even reach $800m.

The international numbers are fantastic too though, considering it has only opened in around 70% of markets so far. China is still to come (Age of Ultron opened to $155m there).

Posted by: Jonjo 29th April 2018, 05:17 PM

$42.2m in the UK (about £30.6m) and that puts it in 3rd for best UK opening weekends of all time.

'Spectre' with $63.7m (a predominantly British film - released Half Term too iirc) and 'Force Awakens' with $50.6m (December/Christmas Holidays/first movie in about 12 yrs in the biggest franchise of all time) are the two above it.

'Spectre' opening gave the film 51.2% of it's total gross ($124.5m)
'Force Awakens' opening gave the film 31.0% of it's total gross ($163.5m)

SPEECHLESS. RIP me, y’all need to hold me.

Posted by: PaulM1983 30th April 2018, 07:44 PM

And it just gets better. Disney under-estimated all the box office numbers, so it actually did $258.1m domestically and $382.8m internationally, for a $641m first weekend. Incredible.

I also saw it for a second time today and it was every bit as spectacular as it was the 1st time. Just astonishing.

Posted by: Joe. 1st May 2018, 10:58 AM

People seem to critique why they kept all the originals and here's why I think is why;

I think the ones who turned to ash are all going to be okay eventually, will probably come back in the third act of Avengers 4 and all of the people who survived are the ones most at risk of being killed off completely. They probably want to reunite the original Avengers (with Clint) one last time but I wouldn't be surprised if Cap, Iron Man (I'm not as sure about him anymore as he almost died already) and War Machine went, probably Nebula too. It'd be silly to bring back those who turned to ash just to kill them again.

Wanda for example, I feel they've only touched on with her character potential, we know Bucky has more films in his contract and that Guardians, Black Panther and Spider-man have more films confirmed, so I can see why they want to give these guys a break for probably the majority or Avengers 4, to say a final goodbye to a lot of the old gang. I wouldn't be surprised if the "surviving" Avengers got more or less cut in half, as we're going to see the torch being handed on to the new Avengers; Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Wasp, Scarlet Witch....At the moment, Widow, Okoye, Rocket and Thor are the only ones I feel confident about continuing on to the next phase (along with everyone who was ashed).

Posted by: PaulM1983 1st May 2018, 02:45 PM

Yeah Joe that's pretty much exactly how I feel.

Thor is easily the safest of the originals. He practically single handedly saved the day and, aside from Captain Marvel, is the most powerful of them all. And after Ragnarok, they seem to have finally hit their stride with him.

I swear, I nearly peed myself when he came barrelling into Wakanda with Rocket and Groot, looking brand new and ready to hand everyone's ass to them. That was a god damn moment.

Posted by: Cody💧Slayberry 2nd May 2018, 06:40 AM

They also managed to leave out a lot of the stuff from the Super Bowl teaser, including that huge scene of Cap/Widow/T'challa/Bucky/Okoye/Hulk (yes, fully hulked out)/War Machine/Falcon, so maybe they're saving that scene for A4. I did find it pretty fitting that we're left with the OG's (+ Hawkeye when he does show up) considering Iron Man was the first of the OG films and that happened 10 years ago.

In terms of contracts and what's been confirmed, Cap is the most likely to die. Maybe Stark too since RDJ is film-by-film allegedly, but I think he can make a few recurring appearances in the next Spider-Man movie next year, especially after... that scene. I'm thinking Grant's hunch from a few weeks ago may be right and Evans will pass the torch to Seb (since he has a 9-movie contract).

I wouldn't be surprised if Thor sticks around after A4. Hemsworth's pretty passionate about the character, and Ragnarok has developed so many new paths to take.

Posted by: blacksquare 2nd May 2018, 08:25 AM

The ending felt so meaningless because of how much we know about the future of the franchise. I understand they're keeping the originals for the next film but I really think they should have killed Stark or Steve in this. And then the other in the next film. There would have been more weight to it.

Also, how did people react in your cinema to the ending? Trying to imagine being a child and seeing this.

A little boy of about 8 or 9 was visibly upset in front of me. When it looked like Tony had met his end, he gasped and said "Oh no" to his dad. Then when Peter died, that tipped him over the edge. He was crying at that. One girl who looked like she was in her mid-teens was very upset when Groot got ashed too.

Posted by: Dexton 3rd May 2018, 08:07 AM

Opening the movie with the Asgard ship being slaughtered was so unexpected, I've only just seen Ragnarok so that was quite heartbreaking to begin with.

The four characters who died prior to Thanos completing the Infinity Gauntlet I expect are fully dead, I know that's a bit obvious but even if we get the Infinity Stones back I don't think reviving Vision (or at least the Paul Bettany Vision we know). Loki could be alive still I mean, it's Loki, and I feel like him dying at the beginning was a bit of a crap way to go considering all he's done for/to the franchise so far but it also makes a lot of sense and gives Thor all the more reason to want to kill Thanos.

The end scene was gutwrenching but like many others, the first thing I thought was "well how are they planning on bringing everyone back from the dead?". It was an awful scene to watch (especially Spidey omg) but as has been mentioned above they very much targetted the newer heroes and left the classic team on their own. It's nice to see the OG Avengers reunite but I think Tony/Steve are almost definitely gonna kick the bucket next year. Bruce could go either way, but at this point Hulk has become an actual icon in the MCU so unless they have a new Hulk come along I think Bruce is here to stay as the Avengers resident science guy. Black Widow won't die but I really hope she gets better in IF2 because she just has no emotion half of the time. Thor is 100% making it through no doubt about it. I really like how Thor has brought everyone together in the MCU lately. First Doctor Strange, then Hulk, now the Guardians.

I'm a bit sad that both Maria & Nick "died" though. I thought at least one of them would've made it through to help sort everyone out in IF2, but I guess not. I LOVE how Nick called Captain Marvel though, which means he'll be in the Captain Marvel movie I think too or in the post-credits scene at the very least. Maybe he goes to recruit her for the Avengers when he tries to get Iron Man & Hulk in 2008 (or whenever), but she turns him down and instead just gives him her number for "emergencies" laugh.gif Who knows but I'm super excited

Also Marvel is doing such a better job with female roles than DC. The scene with Black Widow, Wanda, and the Black Panther girl (haven't seen it yet) teaming up to kill Thanos' minion was amazing. Just think how scenes like that will get even better with Captain Marvel & Maria more invested in the universe..

Loved this movie, so much better than Age Of Ultron tbh but that is to be expected 10/10

He was fine, but I just cannot get Tyrion Lannister out of my head when he is on screen.

I really enjoyed this, probably an 8.5 out of 10. I thought the pacing was excellent, some of the space scenes went on a little bit too long, but a real good mix of humour, emotion and storytelling.I kind of wish Gamora would stay dead for the emotional impact, but she will obviously come back. Likewise the end scene was fantastic, a proper cliffhanger!

I think you have to have seen a lot of the other Marvel films to really appreciate it. I've only seen the first Iron Man and not seen any of the Thor/Captain America films Civil War. I've seen a lot of the more recent Marvel films with the more niche characters.

But basically it's just really neat storytelling. It's the culmination of all these films and all these little Easter Eggs that must really make it for the big fans. You've a cast of nearly 70 characters and it handles the screen time for them all really well, just the sheer size and scoping is fantastic. Something like this has never been done before and it's certainly not easy to full off. It's never going to win major awards but I think if he'd watched Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Civil War and Ragnarok (although I've not seen it) it might have made the experience better.

There’s no way Gamora isn’t 100% dead, whilst the whole disintegration thing will be able to be reversed I doubt her being killed as a sacrifice for an infinity stone will be. At the very least her soul might be kept within the soul stone, maybe to make her into a Gamora-Vision hybrid or something but i think that’s a stretch

Yeah, I agree Gamora is one of the few actual deaths. The dusties will come back, but it just wouldn't work if they were like Oh, let's bring Gamora back too. Her sacrifice was as real as it gets, there's no going back from that, Thanos did what her did. She isn't "trapped in the soul stone", she literally went splat.

Infinity War was brilliant, and don't worry even though it has more than 50 characters they all get their moments it was so much fun watching them fight all together

And even though the title says Avengers, it's clearly a Thanos movie, and probably the best character in this film and has the most screen time, and Josh Brolin did an amazing job on portraying Thanos.

The character development is great, except for the children of Thanos which disappoint me a little bit cause they didnt have that much development and screentime but that was expected since there's a lot of characters in this film.
