Has anyone heard of this? Or has anybody invested in it?

Essentially the concept works very much like the stockmarket - you buy shares in football players, then the value can increase or decrease in time. The Football Index also pays out dividends on the star player of the match and the player with the most media hype. For the first 30 days you own a share they also pay out in-play dividends, which means if you player assists, scores or keeps a clean sheet you can make extra money too.

I'd seen the adverts on Facebook. Initially I was quite sceptical, but I did some research and it seems a lot of people have made some great ROI on the platform, just as long as you are willing to hold your money in there for a long time.

I find it very interesting and certainly a very low risk investment as the platform will only grow over time once they open it up to other countries (it's currently UK only). Plus if have you some knowledge of football and working out how other people think or making sure you invest when a bigger player is on a downturn of form, it's really easy to make some smart choices. I'm happy to share my current tips.

If anyone fancies a go at it, feel free to PM me - I've a referal code where we can both get extra cash!

I've not heard of this before but it certainly sounds interesting! I've never been one to put money on anything so don't think I'd use it, I can see the appeal for very knowledgeable football fans though (which I am not). I'm not sure how I'd feel as a player knowing people were buying 'shares' of me but then again I guess it's not much more than what already goes on with betting etc.

You don’t even have to have much knowledge of football to be fair, a lot of it is psychological. As long as you know the big players you’re fine as these are the players that can fall and rise quite quickly, but if you know how shares work, then they’ll always rise again.

Update on this - my initial investment is up about 20% right now, which is meaning I'm considering double my initial investment!

Happy to talk anyone through it if they want to get involved. The platform is also the new short sponsor of Nottingham Forest!

You have to pay, but they offer a try with no risk scheme so if you don't like it you can get your money back within 7 days no risk associated.

If anyone is still interested - PM me or use the referral code 324071. Up to Christmas they're doing a deal where you deposit & spend £50, you get £50 credited to your account (which you can withdraw as cash). So free money basically!

After reading some of the horror stories from this I'm glad I never got hooked.

What's everyone on here's situation?

So I am about £1300 down. I'm lucky enough that I can easily survive without it and haven't put any deposited money for 18 months. I would have withdrawn my money a long time ago, but when Covid hit I couldn't withdraw due to where I was in the world.. unfortunate but one of those things and I just left it in there thinking it would eventually recover. Annoying thing is, I was tempted to get out for a minor loss about 3 weeks ago, but all the right noises were coming from the Management so I just left it there thinking it would eventually recover.

There are some proper horror stories about of people losing £20,000. Horrible negligence from the company, they've conned so many people and minted shares. I have about 10% confidence I'll see some money back, which was about 1% last week laugh.gif
