They will also continue to blame Brexit for any non-winning result for the next decade (becoming the new "Iraq" c.2003-2008) until another convenient excuse arrives. |

It felt easier to predict. My biggest fear is Finland - I think they are likely show closers and everything is being put in place to get a good result, but I’m worried this wont rise above the other bangers in the semi (also keeping myself emotionally prepared for Monsters to crash out). I expect big difference between jury and televotes between Belgium and Austria. Semi 2 seemed far easier to predict. Hungary will gain enough support from televote and jury to get them in, not to mention strong dyaspora. Malta will likely just miss out but will receive the usual friendly jury votes albeit not quite enough. I think Sweden will walk this - Australia is a bit too safe to go all the way. It's beautiful and understated and I think draws comparisons to Tom Dice's "Me And My Guitar". Azerbaijan pushing Armenia out by one place would hurt in their rivalry for sure. Ironically they'd both qualify if they didn't always give each other 0. It'll be disappointing to see Macedonia go out having made so much effort for a 2nd year running. SF2 1. SWEDEN 2. AUSTRALIA 3. Israel could easily win this (as well as semi final 1) - but then so could Estonia. I've surprised myself in having Czech Republic as high as 4th. Spain on for their 3rd 10th place of the decade! Cyprus I hope will come higher than 14th. I think nothing is more nailed on than the UK in last place though this year - by quite some margin - and Denmark will fall very flat on stage having sneaked in to the final only just. |

Gonna make some very premature predictions. Will be very interesting to see how far off these may be come May. Semi 2 felt a lot more difficult to predict honestly because all of the best songs are in Semi 1 while the second one is a lot more underwhelming.

Indeed, Israel is more of a default jury winner in that there's no song that screams I will landslide the jury a la Dami, Salvador whereas I could easily pick out a stand-out in Estonia than the televoters will grasp on to.

I'm actually gutted to see most of my faves are in semi finale 1 - like all of them.
