I know bad news spreading fast 22. Would You Believe | Average Score: 4.714 Highest Rate: 8 (fgiboy2511), Lowest Rate: 0/-1 (Luciano, Heezus Froot) First one out is their most recent single "Would You Believe" released in February 2015 as the first single from their compilation album "Hidden Gems" , which includes all of their unreleased material, including this one which was originally recorded for their 4th album "Da Capo" in 2005. An okay song but not very interesting and didn't do anything chart wise as it failed to chart anywhere. Bounded by law and by heart 21. Travel To Romantis | Average Score :5.464 Highest Rate: 9 (Addy King), Lowest Rate: -1 (fgiboy2511) Just outside the top 20 with a much higher average "Travel To Romantis" released in November 1998 as the 3rd single from their third album "Flowers" but only in a few select countries, as most places got the much better single "Always Have Always Will". It charted best in Russia by reaching #3 while also hitting top 20 in Romania and Danish and then finally making a small dent of #61 in Germany becoming the album's least successful single there. All For You | Average Score: 5.571 Highest Rate: 9 (Stars Fade), Lowest Rate: 0 (Luciano) Kicking off the top 20 is "All For You" released in September 2010 as the first and only single from their 5th album "Golden Ratio", it was their first proper single release in 8 years and also marks the first single since the departure of band member and lead singer Jenny Berggen, and first with new vocalists Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson. This failed to match the chart success of their former glory by not charting in their homeland Sweden, but did manage a top 40 peak of #38 in Germany, becoming their first top 40 hit in 8 years over there. The title track "Golden Ratio" was planned as the 2nd single, but was cancelled due to poor sales of the album and single. |

Words can't describe it 19. Unspeakable | Average Score : 5.961 Highest Rate: 9 (DJ Hazey), Lowest Rate: 0 (Luciano) At #19 is "Unspeakable" and the last of the songs to finish with a 5 average. Released in December 2002 as the third and final single from their 4th album "Da Capo" In Sweden it was released as the album's 2nd single and didn't fare as well as the lead single "BM" by limping in the charts at #45 and to date becoming their last song to chart there and first to miss the top 40. Tomorrow's foe is now a friend 18. The Juvenile | Average Score : 6.321 Highest Rate: 9 (Acidburn, fgiboy2511), Lowest Rate: 0 (Luciano) At #18 is another "Da Capo" single to drop leaving just the lead single left in the running. Released in December 2002 as the 2nd single from that album in Germany and originally it was written in 1995 as the proposed theme to the James Bond movie Goldeneye. But Arista Records pulled the band out from the project and Tina Turner was chosen instead. So they re-wrote it as "The Juvenile". |

Waiting For Magic | Average Score: 6.464 Highest Rate: 9 (DJ Hazey, Luciano, Addy King), Lowest Rate: 2 (fgi2511) At #17 is "Waiting For Magic" released in May 1993 as the 4th single from their debut album "Happy Nation", not as well remembered as the album's other singles due to it only being released in select countries and not having a music video neither. To be honest it's an okay song but not as memorable as their other hits. It was re-recorded for it's single release which is probably another factor as to why it's not as remembered, because everybody who brought the album will probably only know the album version. But it did do well by hitting #19 in their homeland Sweden becoming their 3rd top 20 hit. But faring much better in Denmark and Finland where it charted top 5 in both countries. But I will fight it till the end 16. C'est La Vie (Always 21) | Average Score: 6.821 Highest Rate: 9 (gooddelta, Aphrodite, Kellyann), Lowest Rates: 4 (Acidburn) At #16 is "C'est La Vie (Always 21)" released in October 1999 as the lead single from their first greatest hits collection "Singles Of The 90's" and it also marked their last single of the 90's also. Now this did gain several high marks, namely quite a few 9's and 8's, and I was surprised to see that I was the one who gave it the lowest mark of 4. It's not terrible song but just doesn't go anywhere. The song charted quite well in several countries by topping the charts in Chile, Spain and Romania, while hitting top 20 in Danish and Finland. The best in life is free 15. Beautiful Morning | Average Score: 6.964 Highest Rate: 9 (MIKEMYER, Aphrodite, bartsimpson), Lowest Rate: 0 (Luciano) At #15 is the last of the Da Capo singles to drop out it's "Beautiful Morning" released in September 2002 as the lead single from that album and it seems that they're success from the 90's failed to cross over into the 00's decade, despite a return to their old sound and while it did chart quite well in a few countries, it wasn't given a full worldwide release like their other singles like in Australia, USA or UK. The album was given a small release in the UK, but with no promo or singles as the record company stated that they are no longer relevant there any more. In their homeland of Sweden it charted at #14 becoming their 8th and final top 20 hit and highest charting song in 4 years. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Romania and hit top 40 in Danish, Swiss and Germany and finally top 50 in Austria, their last single to chart there do date. It charted best in Canada peaking at #4, In the UK it was released in January 1995 as the 6th single following the re-release of the title track there and became their 5th top 20 hit reaching #18 as well as top 20 peaks in Ireland, Austria and USA. Cruel Summer | Average Score: 7.464 Highest Rate: 10 (DJ Hazey, Addy King), Lowest Rate: 1 (Aphrodite) At #12 we finally get to one of their more well known singles "Cruel Summer" , originally a top 10 smash hit for girl group Bananarama in 1983. Ace of Base's version was released in July 1998 as the 2nd single from their 3rd album "Flowers". They covered it as a request by their American and German record labels PolyGram and Arista. In the USA it was remixed and released as the lead single and reached #10 becoming their 4th and final top 10 hit there and to capitalize on it's success the album was re-titled "Cruel Summer" also. Elsewhere the original album version was released and became a success in the UK it charted at #8 matching Bananarama's original peak becoming their 5th and final top 10 hit and in other countries it hit top 10 in South Africa, Canada, and Denmark, and top 40 in Swiss, France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Sweden and New Zealand. Wheel Of Fortune | Average Score :7.607 Highest Rate: 10 (Addy King), Lowest Rate: 4 (fgiboy2511) At #11 and just missing out a place on the top 10 by the skin of it's teeth literally, despite scoring the same average the one above it scored one more 10, with another single from that same album. "Wheel Of Fortune" originally released in April 1992 as the their debut single from their first album "Happy Nation". It failed to chart on it's first release, but after the success of their breakthrough "All That She Wants", the song was re-released in April 1993 and became another success for the group by topping the charts in Norway and top 5 peaks in Denmark, Netherlands, Germany and Swiss, along with top 10 peaks in Austria and Spain. In the UK and Ireland it was released as the album's 2nd single in August 1993 and reached #20 and #18 respectively. Elsewhere it managed top 40 peaks in Finland, Germany and in their homeland Sweden reaching #39 despite being the album's lowest charting single, it fared much better than the first time it was released where it failed to chart altogether. In 2009 it was remixed and released as a digital single to promote their 2nd compilation album "Greatest Hits, Classic Remixes and Music Videos". A situation leading to sweet salvation 10. Happy Nation | Average Score :7.607 Highest Rate: 10 (Addy King, bartsimpson), Lowest Rate: 3 (fgiboy2511) At the #10 spot by one more higher rate is "Happy Nation" released in 1992 as the 3rd single from the debut album of the same name. In the UK it was released twice, the first time it failed to make the top 40, peaking at #42, then again in October 1993 after the success of the previous two singles "The Sign" and "Don't Turn Around" it fared a little better by cracking the top 40 by peaking at #40 the first and only out of the 6 singles released over there to miss the top 20. Worldwide it fared even better by topping the charts in Finland and France (their first and only to date) and top 5 in Sweden and Netherlands as well as top 10 placing's in Austria, Norway, Germany and Belgium. Then finally top 40 in New Zealand and Swiss. In Australia it was the album's only single not to reach the top 20 by limping in at a mere #80. Everytime It Rains | Average Score : 7.769 Highest Rate: 10 (Aphrodite, MIKEMYER), Lowest Rate: 3.5 (DJ Hazey) At #9 is the beautiful ballad "Everytime It Rains" originally written for Annie Lennox, but for whatever reason she passed on it and Ace Of Base recorded it for originally the US version of their third album "Flowers" and later the re-release of the UK version "Flowers". Clive Davis the head of Arista Records instructed band member Malin Berggren to record the track for "Cruel Summer" , but other band member Jenny Berggren recorded the track, when Malin looking to take a secondary role in the band and ignored Davis's demands and once he found out he threatened her regarding the band's future in the USA and she flew to Norway to record it allowing only one take and it was after that incident she decided that she didn't want to be involved in the music business anymore. The track was released in April 1999 as the final single from the album, in the UK it became their last single to date released over there and peaked at #22 becoming their 12th top 40 hit. It wasn't given a worldwide release and was originally intended to be released in the USA in April 2000 as the lead single from their "Greatest Hits" but that never happened. |

Lucky Love | Average Score: 7.964 Highest Rate: 9.5/9 (DJ Hazey, Heezus Froot, Bartsimpson, fgiboy2511), Lowest Rate: 6.5(Adam Aloud) At #8 is "Lucky Love" released in October 1995 as the lead single from their 2nd album "The Bridge". In the USA and Canada it was released as the 2nd single in January 1996 and was re-recorded in an acoustic version and therefore had two music videos recorded for it, due to their USA label not liking the original one which was used for the European market. The song became a success in several countries continuing on from the massive success they had with their first album, although not on the same scale, in their homeland Sweden it charted best and became their first #1 hit as well as topping the charts in Finland and elsewhere it managed top 10 peaks in Canada, Spain, Belgium and France and also top 20 in New Zealand, Norway, Germany, Austria, Netherlands and UK, then finally hitting top 30 in Australia and USA becoming their 6th single to chart there.
