Gotye is the true definition of a one hit wonder I take offense to this (obviously). In fact the only reason "Somebody..." was a hit in the first place is because of the immense goodwill and praise he'd gotten for his previous album. Like sure, internationally he only had one hit, but he was worshipped in Australia years before that. I will not let my teens of including an ARIA Award contributing progressive metal cover of a Gotye song in an IT project go faded from memory (and "Like Drawing Blood" is a great album and "Hearts A Mess" is one of the best songs ever so I'd hate to deprive myself of that like everyone willingly does. Maybe TikTok will catch on one day). |

So good to see Too Sweet at no.1, first no.1 I’ve loved in what seems an age.

Ooh I’ve got a one hit wonder no-one can object to - 3 Of A Kind. The 2nd single after Babycakes was never even released.

Wow, Conan is doing very well! It seems like he could be safe to stay Top 5 on Sunday? *Ends up charting at #6 x*

There's not really anything inherently bad about being a one hit wonder. One hit is more than most artists get! (Really there are a ton of artists who had lots of hits but could effectively be considered no hit wonders x)
Glad to see Vampire Weekend still holding at #9 for now at least, fingers crossed they can stay top 10. |

Glad that Hozier is set to have quite a considerable lead over Benson! It's really giving 7/8 week #1 vibes (or around that) and even if one of Taylor's tracks dethroned it, I feel like it could go right back to the top easily the following week.
I could really do without 'Been Like This' & 'I Don't Wanna Wait' becoming hits tbh. 'Dragostea Din Tei' is a classic and shouldn't be allowed to get butchered in this way Those J. Cole tracks aren't very good either but it's understandable why they're charting here (the only redeemable part from those entries is the production at the end of '7 Minute Drill', thanks Conductor x). I'm righteously disappointed at this dire underperformance for Vampire Weekend Probably my AOTY so far so hoping top 10 isn't a stretch too far. I wouldn't have predicted Feeder or Conan Grey to sell more! I also expected Khraungbin to perform better than they have (which is unfortunate as the material from their album is also really good). |

Being a self-confessed Feeder loon, I looked at the release schedule. I put this week as being the week I would NOT see them at #1 primarily due to The Libertines and Vampire Weekend. So yes, I'm pleasantly surprised at how well my band are doing! 🙈 They would have another sale from me if I'd have noticed the sold out limited vinyl I missed out on too... 😂 (Well, not really, as it would have been in place of someone else's sale, but still!) |

Hopefully Noah can fall out the top 10 to give Alibi another week there. Amazing to see it still holding at #11.

and some for Kylie, everything from I Should be so Lucky to Can't Get You Out of My Head would be flops despite having like 20 top 5 hits or something, and same for everything post-Can't Get You Out of my Head What planet are you on? All those "unknown" hits!? Because the general public doesn't remember the likes of The locomotion, Especially for you, Better the devil you know, Confide in me and Spinning around... all iconic hits by any standard not just Kylie's very high ones!? |

It does look like it's gonna be the 'Calm Down' of 2024 and just hog the top ten

Just seen djo is doing cassette singles shipping next week, I’m assuming to try reach a new peak here. I wanted to get it - £6.99 tho and over £10 with shipping feels too mhch imo
