Séyetana Country Profile

Séyetana declared independence almost a century ago, after a rampaging horde of warriors, with Empress Alexis Jordan I at their head settled in south East Twikandea. Forming an unapologetic empire, they forcefully carved out borders where they felt necessary. Some... small disputes between Persephonia and Daehun were in order, to gain control of the Dennian Plains, the eastern part of the Indie Steppes.

For some time the region has been peaceful and Séyetana has not gone to war, there is no need, as its citizens flourish under the benevolent rule of Alexis Jordan XIX, the nineteenth of her name, as beautiful as the first and certainly not a sinister clone superhuman as claimed by her enemies. Now, close allies Persephonia and Altyr Muunlinst are supported and support Séyetana in its ambitions.

Séyetana has a temperate oceanic climate. In the north-east of the country temperatures can reach mild extremes, along with a small desert deep in the Indie Steppes. While the entire west coast sees many tourists, Asenati the main tourist attraction, located at the mouth of the second-largest river in Séyetana, the Noodle river (the largest being the royally-named Alexis river that originates in Helgon, spends most of its run traversing Séyetana and eventually flows into Persephonia), the Asenati coastline has stunning landscapes surrounding it and golden beaches as far as the eye can see.

Cities:
Ziadiz - The Capital of the Realm, ruled by whatever group has the most power in the land and home to diplomats from all nations. Currently ruled by a homunculus empress (always named Alexis) from House Jordan, a minor house from the Poplands. Recently House Fenty has been ousted from power, and the Jordans are now controlled by an uneasy alliance between the symphonic metal and dance houses. A large Asian contingent led by the government in Miura is threatening independence.

Lautianna - Capital of the Popland Duchies. Ruled by House Fenty. Other noble houses include House Jordan, House Reifer and House Sandford.

Asenati - Capital of the dual vassal monarchy of the Gorillaz Delta and the Hip Hop Hinterlands. Ruled By House Niccals.

Holpikkilla - Capital of the Symphonic Savannah, which contains a small but important range and indigenous tribe known as the Hardcore Metal Mountains. Ruled By House Holopainen. Other noble houses include House Turunen, House Olzon, House Jansen, House Hietala, House Denadel, House Demurtas, House Ryd and House Mörck.

Elemecian - Capital of the Synthpop Plains. Ruled By House Young. Other noble houses include House Poxleitner, House Düren, House Tofte, House Taylor and House Thiessen.

Avirokki - Capital of the Pop Punk Expanse. Ruled By House Parawilliams. Other noble houses include House Dougall and House Jardine.

Volsalmi - Capital of the Alt Rock Reach. Ruled By House Coldmartin. Other noble houses include House Meighan and House Bellamy.

Zaratigone - Capital of the Electro Forest. Formerly ruled by House Diamandis until a civil war between them and House Zavlavski left both houses a shadow of their former selves, shortly after hosting the Masquerade. House Karlsson has taken advantage of the power vacuum and is looking towards an alliance with the increasingly autonomous city of Miura.

Rhudanion - Capital of the Retro Retreat. Ruled By House Ulvaeus. Other noble houses include House Faltskog, House Lyngstad, House Andersson, House Fleetwood, House Buckingham and House Carpenter.

Bandene - Capital of the Pop Rock Jungle. Ruled By House Lavigne.

Orokovis - Capital of the Folk and Glam Moors. Ruled By House Penniman. Other noble houses include House Shears and House Matronic.

Denrayber - Capital of the Indie Steppes. Ruled By House Butler-Chassagne. Other noble houses include House Lagrange, House Banks and House Delrey. Delrey was recently overthrown by Butler-Chassagne and the steppes have become a lot more credible as a result.

Nborm - Capital of the Classical Lakes. Ruled By House Stirling. Other noble houses include House Hale (vassal of Stirling and captive from the Pop Punk Expanse) and House Patterson.

Miura - Capital of the Asian Borderlands. Formerly ruled by House Chaerin but now ruled by House Eiru. Other noble houses include House Nakamoto, House Hyun, House Jinah and House Uana. A big threat to the Ziadiz administration due to its distance from them. Separatist forces concentrated in Nakamoto are counterbalanced by moderates led by the Eiru forces who advocate a power-sharing system with Ziadiz.


BJSC History and explanation:
Séyetana enters diverse and occasionally ill-informed entries consistently in desperate attempts to outdo all other nations and their cheap, good-for-nothing ways while remaining among the most inspired nations in the contest. True facts. We like standing out, so our entries will often be of the banging variety, and will often feature guitars and heavy chords. This is a strategy that always works. We will never win but we'll come pretty close with one of the most noticeable entries in the lineup.

Also of note, every single Séyetan entry that qualifies will be predicted to finish 10th. When we do actually make the final, scraping lucky top 10s is what we do and everyone knows it. *.*
