AC Milan have struck a deal with Uefa to serve a one-year ban from European football over breaches of Financial Fair Play rules.

The club, which finished fifth in Italy's Serie A, will miss next season's Europa League.

French second division side AS Nancy could face disciplinary action after their match against Le Mans was stopped by the referee due to homophobic chanting by a section of fans.

Referee Medi Mokhtari briefly halted the game in the 27th minute at Nancy's Stade Marcel Picot.

Players went over to their fans to ask them to stop, while the stadium announcer warned the game would be suspended.

The match resumed after a minute.

Not a huge shock for FC Union to get hammered by RBL. Expect RBL to challenge for a CL spot while FCU will probably bounce right back down to Bundesliga 2. Really wasn't expecting them to get promoted at all and unlike Köln I don't think they've got what it takes to stay up.

Happy to be proven very wrong as someone who is moving to Berlin later this year and would love an extra Gladbach match to go to without having to leave the city

It's also good to see a side from the former DDR in the Bundesliga even if it is only for one season.

I guess that depends on how you classify FCU’s opposition this weekend. Technically, they’re a team from a city in what was the DDR and they did buy the playing rights from a DDR team.

I’m not sure we will really get a former DDR team for a while. Still a hell of a lot of work to bridge the East/West gap and break NRW dominance of the Bundesliga. It’s like NW England’s grip on the Prem.

A group of Inter Milan fans claim Cagliari supporters were showing Romelu Lukaku a form of "respect" when they aimed monkey chants at him on Sunday.

Lukaku, who moved from Manchester United to Inter in the summer, was subjected to the racist abuse after scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory.

A statement from Inter fan group Curva Nord said "Italian fans are not racist" and the abuse was gamesmanship.

It added: "We are sorry you thought what happened in Cagliari was racist."

Every La Liga game will be shown in the UK on Premier Sports until the end of the 2021-22 season.

The matches will be broadcast live on new channel LaLigaTV, apart from games that kick off at 15:00 UK time, which will be shown on delay.

In addition, free-to-air channel FreeSports will broadcast select match content and a weekly highlights show.
