Another film which is being talked about and early discussions of Awards talk. 'The Walk' is based on the true story of Phillippe Petit (played by JGL), who was insane enough to walk on a tightrop between the twin towers. Looks so tense!

Released on the big formats (IMAX, Xplus etc..) on the 2nd October, ahead of it's full release. Supposed to be enhanced in 3D & IMAX! Looking forward to this, a lot!

I saw this a few weeks back and I hugely recommend your first viewing being via the IMAX - or as a big a screen possible if you have one you can go to.

I found the actual story just okay - but on the IMAX in 3D the actual climax was so realistic (taking on board that I have a terrible fear of heights) that I started to feel really panicked and wanted to leave the room until that particular segment was over.

Also, pretty much naked JGL heart.gif

I don't consider myself to have a particular fear of heights but this did have me feeling a little uneasy at times!

The part where he was trapped on the wire with police on each tower and kept turning back had me like 'holy s***', but it was also quite spectacular. I've just read up a bit about the actual event and I can't believe how much was real / true like how he laid down on the wire, and was up there for 45 minutes!! So crazy.

I was unsure of the narration technique when it first started but got used to it by the end.

The ending is also quite affecting, how he was given a lifetime pass to the observation deck - knowing what we now do about what happened to the towers.

A very solid movie that had me interested throughout, even pre-climax.

A very enthralling watch! Simple concept but never felt overstretched or overtold.

The concept of the whole film really didn't seem very interesting and I was imagining they were gonna have to stretch the story and it'd be really boring but this was actually really good. Shame to see it underperforming compared to Everest even though they have had similar release strategies and both are IMAX/3D sort of films because this is a far superior story.

The first part wasn't too thrilling but it was still really charming to watch, Philippe was a real character and his personality alone was enough to drive the first part. Then it turned into this heist Mission: Impossible type film and it was actually really exciting stuff, definitely a lot of suspense. And the final 20 minutes were just breathtaking, seeing him lay down on the wire, I was just like NO WAY! ohmy.gif Really loved Levitt all the way through, thought he played the big extravagant circus character really well and I actuallu quite liked his accent laugh.gif

Pleasantly suprised at how good this was and how they filled up the two hours, hope it starts picking up soon in the US and that it has a decent opening here.

I thought it was alright. It was a lot more interesting than I thought it'd be, but it was pretty much one of those that you had to witness with the full experience to properly get it and enjoy it I feel. Helps that JGL is one of the most watchable actors out there atm. The performances by everyone were brilliant, but I can't help but feel this is a strong 6/weak 7 sort of film.

Crazy that he managed to do it all whilst having an injured foot too! Loved the ending with the whole "pass to get to the top forever" part. That was really emotional.
