Maurice's Life Time Top 60

Hello and welcome to this Life Time chart of songs/artists that somehow have influenced my life or were a part of my life, like the songs/artists my parents did listen to when i was young or the songs that were played in the car when we did go on holiday.
I did a list before but this one is a bit different, i came up with the idea because i turn 30 next year and i really wanted to make a chart of the songs/artists that influenced my life.
I will regularly update this chart in the next few days, starting the countdown today.
Enjoy and please comment.

60. Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton- Islands in The Stream (1983)

Kicking it off at no.60 are Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton. This song was on my mothers holiday tape which was played in the car every summer. My dad had no say in what was played in the car so my mum made a new tape every year for our holidays but every year this song was included.

59. 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor-Never Alone (1994)

This song was HUGE in the summer of 1994. In that summer we moved houses for the 1st time in my life, i went from a small cupboard room to a have a huge bedroom. This song was a lot on Dutch radio when i moved houses and is still a classic on 90s parties.

58. The 411-Dumb (2004)

Dumb diggi-diggi-di dumb di-dumb. Ah what an amazing song. I think it was Jay who introduced me to The 411 in 2004 on msn. On My Knees was brilliant too but this song is still a 00's classic for me.

57. Haddaway-What is Love (1993)

What is Love brings back all the good memories i have of the 90s. Still an amazing song to listen to.

56.Bob Marley-Three Little Birds (1977)

One of the most relaxing songs on this list and it has a good message: ''Don't worry everything is gonna be alright''. Always had songs of Bob Marley on my mp3 player cause they somehow make me really relaxed.

Hey there Maurice hi.gif

Strong start here! 'What Is Love' is such an incredible 90s dance classic, just never gets old in the slightest heart.gif and 'Dumb' is such an infectious girlband song! I should check out The 411's other top 40 hits.

55. Mariah Carey-Hero (1993)

I have to be honest i'm not Mariah's biggest fan but this song is amazing! So emotional so pure!

54. Spice Girls-Let Love Lead The Way (2000)

As most of you know the Spice Girls are my favorite band and if had to choose a least favorite single it's this song. From the Forever album this is one of the most bland songs.
Luckily on the reunion tour they cut this song short and was saved by Emma's amazing adlibs.

53. Westlife-If I Let You Go (1999)

Back in 1999/2000 i hated Westlife and they did some horrible covers but this song is a karaoke classic, i do sing a long whenever i hear it on the radio.

52. Steps-Better Best Forgotten (1999)

I didn't appreciate the music of Steps the 1st time as when i did when they did the reunion a few years ago. Love this song

51. Melanie B Ft. Missy Elliot- I Want You Back (1998)

Over the years that i am a Spice Girls fan Mel B was my least favorite, doing all this z-list things and her creepy husband didn't interest me at all but this song was amazing!
It was the 1st solo spice single and was released in the last few weeks of the SpiceWorld Tour and was no.1 when the girls did their last gig at Wembley Stadium

50.The Killers- Human (2008)

I am a massive fan of The Killers and Human is one of my favorite singles of them. I do remember this was a huge radio hit in my last few weeks of university in 2008.

49. Blur-Parklife (1994)

Very surprising but this is one of my mums favorite artists, and this song was played in our household A LOT.

48. Melanie C-I Turn To You. (2000)

My 2nd least favorite Spice Girl is Melanie C. Her 1st album was amazing, her 2nd a bit meh,she made a few good songs after that but her album were mediocre.

47. Michael Jackson- Smooth Criminal (1987)

It was very hard to choose my favorite Michael Jackson cause he made some amazing songs. I chose Smooth Criminal cause its such a fantastic song which i have very fond memories of.

46.Leona Lewis- Bleeding Love (2007)

Best song of 2007 FACT.

45. Spice Girls-Mama (1997)

Although it's a very lovely song, it was the worst 5 piece Spice Girls single.
