It's not embarrassing or cringy. Lots of artists release a Christmas album at some point in their career. I just hope it will include some original songs and not all covers. Yeah usually at the end of their careers, the only person who has done it well is Mariah, no one wants it and it just adds to the publics view that she just isn't remotely relevant other than a heritage artist |

She isn't relevent though and hasn't been for years now.
I can think of so many artists in recent time who released an X-mas album early on in their careers and it working well for them. Just because you don't want her to do it, doesn't mean that nobody wants it. |

I agree with your first comment but I cant think of any credible artist other than Mariah who has done well with a Christmas album and im sorry but no fan wants this album, by far more of the majority of the kylie forums clearly show that, obviously ill buy it, I hope it does well but this is the first time in nearly 30 years where I have no interest in a kylie album. |

Saying "no fans" want this is utter bollocks when there are people in this very thread who would want one.
Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis all had success with their Christmas albums. |

ok 99% of her fans don't want a Christmas album, this is based on her main forum say hey, not a few fans on here.
Kelly Clarkson did well in America/Canada, not surprising, most her stuff does, bombed in every other market massively though, and yeah ill give you Leona, only because of that great single which I hope Kylie will have, a classic Christmas album, as for the other 2, mums annual Christmas prezzies lol I just don't think that if you are trying to be relevant which she does on every album recently, this will not help, final nail in the coffin after the brilliant abbey road album. I was all excited about the new kylie era with Fernando Garibay, was hoping it may give her a boost musically, make her maybe slightly cooler (wouldn't take much lol), then I heard about a bloody Christmas album |

SayHey is full of nutters tho, horrible place to visit.
If Kylie were to do an album like Michael or Josh then it'd be much better received than if she did a Mariah though, Kylie always gets praise for her more classical sounding stuff. Besides, Michael and Josh have a much wider appeal than just Mums and anyway is that such a bad thing when you see how much they have both sold? Kylie would KILL for an album to sell millions of copies. She hasn't been trying to be relevent with her recent albums, she hasn't been trying full stop. |

I do not think a Christmas album would be the right move for Kylie. Kylie needs to concentrate on brand new music and work out the direction she wants to go for the future. I would suggest she works harder on a brand new album as she vastly needs to improve on what she delivered with Kiss Me Once.

Apparently this Christmas album is to be disco influenced: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a65...~pikGNqdtHnhkRz So the same sound she's done the past 15 years!

I don't know what all the fuss is about in terms of Kylie doing a Christmas album. I think we should be grateful to be getting another album. It might do well and then again it might not but I'm just happy we are getting some new material. Christmas albums can work well for some artists. Celine Dion did well with hers in the 90s.

Celine Dion was at the height of her career though.

I can't say the prospect of this enthuses me greatly, but at least it's something and will make the festive season that extra bit more special for me this year.
I could see it maybe doing okay for her, I'm confident it'll outsell Kiss Me Once at any rate. |

Celine Dion was huge in the era she released her Christmas album, that said,it did not chart too highly in the UK, considering at that time she was selling a million plus with each album released her Christmas album very much under performed.

I know I'll enjoy it but it would have to be like Leona's - new songs and covers that are made her own - for me to really like it. I'm pretty confident it'll do well as Kylie always gets good promo in the Christmas period if she has a release out. |

The Celine Christmas album reached no20 but made platinum status. Kylie might struggle with sales for a Christmas album but if they get the single release right then who knows. Good original Christmas songs are thin on the ground so hopefully Kylie can make an impact. |
