Very close between JT, the girls and Bastille this week!
1 Duke Dumont/A*M*E 92,179 2 P!nk/Nate Ruess 52,637 3 Justin Timberlake 41,144 4 The Saturdays 39,810 5 Bastille 39,516 Quite a low sales week, right? I may be wrong but just compared to the last few weeks it looks it? The girls will probably be between #6-#8 this week, won't they? So probably around 20-25k this week to take them to 244-254k. Very low, perhaps because many people bought the now versions of the songs the week before and not to mention it became the fastest selling album of the year with 200,000+ copies in the first week. Because of this, not many people need to buy the single as they have the full NOW album

Yeah, being on Now might've actually hurt their sales. I'm going to predict 360k when all said and done. 400k seems a bit out of reach.

It's why I've always hated the Now albums. They increase single sales when they are first released and then since loads of people have the album, there's no point in buying old songs. Therefore, Sales had decreased this week and songs not included on the new Now! album (Hey Porche and Feel this moment) have increased.
EDIT - Top 20 in the Year End Chart now!! This post has been edited by vivek: 8th April 2013, 02:11 PM |

Them going from 114K to 39K in two weeks is a bit alarming. If this doesn't make 400K even with those monster first week sales, it'd be extremely dissapointing. I think it'll certainly cross the 400K mark, but with 114 opening sales it's a shame it won't be platinum.

Like already stated, all the top 10 apart from #1 have taken a dive! Let's not make out it's just The Sats (granted, it's a dip but of course they're going to level off). It was a lower sales week than the past few weeks and the whole Now! situation probably had a part to play with that as vivek said. Some people really are never satisfied lol. This is a bonafide hit, they're almost at 230k in three weeks, they get a #1 and are proving to have staying power in the top 10 which was being demanded to happen beforehand, they are doing exactly that now and you still complain and moan and make it out to be a disappointment. You can't expect them to sell around 50k+ each week, it's The Saturdays after all. Stop raising expectations, just enjoy how well they're doing right now instead of analysing negatively all the time and trying to make it all out to be a disappointment whenever possible. It's a little annoying now.

I hope this gets either Gold or Platinum, and if it does then maybe some of their other songs will finally get that long awaited award

It's a little annoying now. Erm. At which point did I moan or complain? There was a discussion about their sales and I simply said it probably wouldn't go platinum now (which the first week sales would have suggested) and that it was a bit dissapointing. I've never once downgraded the success of this song, nor have I ever said it's underperformed or "could have done better". I've done nothing but praise this song and it's stability. I'm sick of everyone making me out to be a hater or a complainer just because not every post of mine is full of blind optimism. |

I agree, The dive from 114k to 39k in two weeks has not just happened to The saturdays, everyone has had a drop in sales. The chart always goes up and down. Don't forget, a song can get to number 8 with 14,000 sales (If This is Love) or 38,000 sales (Ready or Not), It happens, so i won't be worried.

TBH sales in general were really low this week anyway. I wouldn't worry.

Do we know if this is getting any airplay in the US? It seems to be rising, albeit very slowly, there so I'm wondering if airplay is increasing/getting started.

There hasn't been an update in a while but I'm thinking they must be around the outside of the top 50 on Pop Airplay as the song has climbed around 200 places this week (and still climbing) after four months of being stuck between #400 and #500. |

I don't think it's alarming? It would be if the sales weren't low for everyone else, but they are, so, it's not very alarming. Plus, it was really front loaded as always.
If Cheryl Cole couldn't do more than 500k with Call My Name, I don't see how The Saturdays certainly crossing the 400k mark eventually is disappointing, but that's just me... We can only hope it will have a similar chartrun to Ego or Up. I think we're all a bit scared it does an All Fired Up so we obviously want them to sell a lot in these first few weeks, but the truth is, if What About Us is going to have a similar chartrun to these previous songs, I don't see why it wouldn't reach 400k and why we should panick or anything. |

its not alamring! jeeeez!
they have had their best two weeks of sales ever and bagged another week top five, and they aint hardly "falling at a comical rate" as the expression goes, they look set for another top 10 week at least. its their third biggest airplay hit its their second biggest tv hit its doing well INTERNATIONALLY. Stop hating, and start loving! #WATCHADOINTOMYHEAD!!!! |
