Cheryl will be on the Graham Norton show on June 20 (the day before the Summertime Capital Ball).

I really don't get her team's srategy, why would she do so much promotion in June when the song is out July 20?

No.

It will help pre-orders I guess so that's great biggrin.gif Hopefully it can stay top 200 before its release.

It makes sense for promo like Capital Summertime Ball, because obviously the date is not up to her, but for shows like Graham Norton, it would make more sense to go on them when the single is released. The impact is bigger when the single is aleady out rather than when it's on pre-order. People will most likely download illegaly after the show if they like it, they're not gonna wait a whole month to finally buy it.

I guess it's just when she can actually get a slot booked - it might be booked up around the time the single's out maybe? I get your point though, but I guess promo a month before the release is better than no promo at all.

The Graham Norton Show series usually end at the beginning of July. Regardless, I doubt she'll be performing the song, rather promoting her appearance at the Summertime Ball.

I agree about all the promo being so far before the single release. Surely, it would have been better to launch the single just after the BGT performance and then use the Graham Norton and Capital summertime ball as additional promo to prolong its chart run and sales?!

Erm, sorry to disappoint you but those were live vocals. It's particularly obvious during "Call my name". She doesn't do the crazy foot steps during the chorus to hold the tune. And anyway you clearly hear the difference between her vocals there and pre-recorded vocals.
For some reasons, she usually do most of her gig appearances live, and use pre-recorded vocals on TV.

Why would I be disappointed by that?! I listened to 'Crazy Stupid Love' and the start of 'Call My Name' and it all sounded mimed to me. Very clear, consistent (albeit slightly flat) vocals and a lot of wide angle camera shots compared to other artists. I'm nearly sure that it was a pre-recorded track.

Well, watch it again then. It was live vocals and you can clearly hear her breathe all the way though it (and you don't hear her breath on pre-recorded tracks).
It's not even surprising considering she has always done most of her BBC Big Week-ends and Capital Balls live.

People who thing she can't sing 3 songs live at a gig really need to revise the whole lotta Girls Aloud history. smile.gif

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I'd imagine she has different 'live' tracks that she uses depending on the event if there's obvious breathing differences, as you say. By the way, I'm not doubting she can sing live. She just chooses not to a lot of the time for whatever reason and it seems this was one such time.

I'm not hating on Cheryl but do you remember that embarassing Call My Name performance?

I'm not complaining tho, she has great stage presence and puts on a great show regardless (I wish she would sing more live tho, as I would respect her so much more then)

Just because her vocals sounded incredibly shit, dull and flat it doesn't mean she wasn't miming lol.
