I want to see if you lot think it's a good or bad idea before I contact No.10 to suggest it.

I think every polling station should have Christmas music playing all day on 12th Dec. They could have Now Christmas on loop and some others too.

Also what about them having mince pies and some mulled wine? Get everyone in the Christmas mood as they cast their votes. smile.gif

Any comments or views please.

I doubt they'd allow Christmas music (or any music) to be played in a polling station. It could subconsciously influence people's vote. If some polling stations won't even allow you to bring SOAP into the station because it's been shown to influence voters, I very much doubt they'd do something that can have a more direct influence on your mood.

Of course, it would mean that if you're name is Chris or Christopher, or Christian, you'd be more likely to get votes as a result. Which reminds me, I've got 10 signatures and £500 to round up.

Could be interpreted as a bribe, plus also a chance of subconsciously influencing voters, and consciously by getting the electorate pi$$ed.

And I believe voting while pissed is technically illegal.

No it's not. Just been reading the do's and don't and surprisingly they can't stop you voting even if you're inebriated unless you cause trouble or try to influence anyone else.

I wouldn't say no to a mince pie if they were being offered out but let's not add to the oversaturation of the Christmas music thank you very much x

The “Democracy Sausage” is an integral part of voting in Australia. I’m all for learning off our antipodean cousins

I doubt the people working in polling stations want to be subjected to the same hour of music repeated on a loop 15 times.

After all, if they wanted that they'd be working in a shop.
