Hello from the Rihanna forum.
Welcome to your new album survivor. Following the conclusion of Unapologetics survivor we are now asking you to rate Talk That Talk. Rihanna’s 6th album featured a change of hairstyle and a change of sound. Gone was the red haired Rihanna and here was the brunette Rihanna. The albums sound was more towards Hip-Hop in places whilst still playing with the dance pop sound and also experimenting vocally with some powerful ballads. Talk that Talk was another smash album for her spawning the global smashes We Found Love and Where Have You Been. Fun fact the album has her highest ever first week UK sales! If you’re unfamiliar with the album please listen if you can (I’ll try and provide a link if I work out how to do this)! If you are familiar then please just vote for the two tracks on this album what are your least favourites. Round two seen your votes eliminate the beginning and end of the album in the same round. You Da One finishes in 12th place and received 6 votes. Finishing as the first single from this era to be eliminated the track is often discussed on BJ as a low point in terms of Rihanna’s singles discography. It was a huge misfire and a disastrous single especially as the follow up We Found Love. Sorry Rih but this is one single of hers I could easily erase from my memory. Fool In Love which received 5 votes finishes in 11th place. The closing track of the album is quite a highlight vocally in my opinion. The track was written by frequent collaborator Ester Dean and is only available on the deluxe edition. Lytically the track discusses Rihanna falling for a man who she loves but who those close to her disapprove of. Results so far! 14th. Red Lipstick 13th. Cockiness (Love It) 12th. You Da One 11th. What kind of f***ery is this? 'Cockiness' is one of the best songs on the album!
I meant to vote for TTT and Do Ya Thang but accidentally clicked on Farewell instead of DYT. I guess Farewell would be getting my vote some point soon but if the mods could alter my vote that would be appreciated. |

'You Da One' really was a TERRIBLE follow-up to 'We Found Love'.
