BuzzJack Music Forum _ Movies and Theatre _ Predict The New Releases: 8th-10th May, UK and US

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 6th May 2015, 09:39 PM

NOTE: From now on the US and UK box office prediction will be together

Well the prediction game didn't work out so I am trying out another idea which isn't really a game. The new releases are above and you vote in the poll for what you predict the film will open with. Posse post your answers and hopefully this creates discussion

US new release:
Hot Pursuit- Comedy starring Reese Witherspoon

UK new releases:
The Age Of Adaline- Drama about a woman who doesn't age starring Blake Lively
Big Game- Action with Samuel L Jackson
Spooks: The Greater Good- Movie version of TV show
Top Five- Chris Rock drama

My predictions:
US- Hot Pursuit should do quite well- going for 18.5M
UK- Adaline should do well-£1.37M, Big Game will do ok- £440k, Spooks will do well-£1.78M and top five will bomb- £200k

Don't think I have much to base guesses on this week, so they could be very random laugh.gif Spooks will do the best but I don't know how many people are really here for the movie. Over £1m but not by much I reckon

Adaline, I'm really rooting for, been really looking forward to it since first seeing the trailer in January, will say 760k

Big Game I think will do decently. I'm surprised by how wide the release appears to be, for a Finnish movie laugh.gif Can't say I saw a trailer at the cinema but I have seen plenty of posters for it about. 470k

Top Five. Did see a trailer for this once but I can't remember anything about it and I don't recall seeing ads, 120k if lucky

Hot Pursuit I'll put in the $20-$25m region

No polls this week as the predicta covers both MM and PP2 for uk and us meaning the only other release is a royals night out for the uk
