On August 9th, it will be 10 years since Ready for the Weekend was released as the second single from Calvin's second album of the same name. Are you a fan? It recently ended up in 20th place in our Singles Survivor a couple of months back meaning it may not necessarily be a fan favourite but it faired well with the public when it was released reaching #3 in the chart.

Mary Pearce provides uncredited vocals during the chorus and remixes were comissioned by Fake Blood, High Contrast and Dave Spoon.

UK Chart Run: 3-4-4-11-17-27-37-51-59-74-96-x [11 weeks]

I'm a keen fan of this, but it's still my least fave single of this era for Calvin. For me, it was a sort of step back from the anthemic nature of I'm Not Alone. I do sort of wish we were getting 10th anniversay remixes of this though!

honestly one of my least fave Calvin singles, a decent tune but he'd have quickly went back under the radar if he kept making tracks like this.

Definitely my least favourite single from the album as well, still alright though.

I enjoyed it at the time but looking back what a weird single to release.

Remember a radio playing a misheard lyric segment with the lyric “I’ll butter my shoes” over this song and that’s my one memory of this song! :/

This isn’t a bad song but I’d never one that stood out much for me in his discography

I quite liked it at the time, but it is probably my least listened to from the RFTW era.
