Denmark are doing a bit of a Norway with DMGP this year - five songs are pre-qualified for the final and will be announced at a later date, another five songs will be chosen by the public (and jury) out of a selection of nine which are now available

Jamie Talbot – “Bye Bye Heaven”
Kenny Duerlund – “Forget it All”
Nick Jones – “2 AM”

SamSara – “For You”
Søren Okholm – “Impossible Dreamers”
Ben & Tan – “Yes”

Emil – “Ville ønske jeg havde kendt dig”
Sander Sanchez – “Screens”
MieLou – “We Could Be So Beautiful”

The songs are divided into those three groups of three, the public will vote through one song from each group and then a jury will pick two wildcards

For anyone sad that Linnea Deb hasn't co-written any of the songs in Melodifestivalen this year (for the first time since 2011!), turn your attention to "Yes" which is quite the anthemic banger.

Ben & Tan is very much like a Danish Smith & Thell (Smith og Tell? idk if that's gramattical Danish or not?) and by far and away the best of those nine. Hopefully there's a little bit more sparcle among the five auto qualifiers.

Also check out both Denmark and Norway going for the regional semi finals model with autoqualifiers in the same year!

QUOTE(J▲hq @ Jan 20 2020, 05:44 PM) *
Kenny Duerlund – “Forget it All”
Ben & Tan – “Yes”
Sander Sanchez – “Screens”

These three won their groups and are through to the final. The two wildcards and the five auto-qualified songs will be revealed next week.

Yay for "Yes", one of my favourite songs from NF season so far, hope it can make an impact in the final biggrin.gif "Screens" is very 'You Decide songwriting camp by the numbers' (I think I read that that's exactly where it originated)

The final of Dansk MGP on saturday will be without an audience because of the coronavirus.

Final tonight is basically between 'YES' which I think could be a dark horse for top 10 and this bop in the pimp slot. But with the empty arena who knows how that's going to affect the performances.

Yes is like, your definition of a Danish Eurovision song so I think everything else was kinda playing for second. Plus from what I could tell the empty arena meant that the more dancey numbers like Human couldn't feed off the energy of a crowd.

The right choice for me! Finally a good result. I think this could do very well at Eurovision too.

At least we’ve had one amazing result tonight heart.gif This is going to third in my rankings, and I reckon it could be a top 5 in the contest just like the last Danish male/female duet a decade ago

I actually quite like this. Live performance wasn't flawless but it's fun and probably way more charming in a full arena laugh.gif
