Khalid is back on April 5th! I'd love it to return him to the charts, it's mad to think he was the #1 artist on Spotify in 2019. Looking at his UK chart history is similarly crazy: 24 Top 100 appearances from 2017-early 2020, and absolutely nothing since.

I don’t see how this will change his fortunes sadly. I do like him as an artist but for whatever reason, the broader general public are not interested in him now.

I agree it's unlikely, although he's the sort of artist I can see having a surprise TikTok hit. Although most of them didn't even chart in the US, some of his recent singles have racked up decent streaming numbers.

He has so much potential but nothing in the last 3-4 years has really stuck which is a shame
I remember in my personal chart back in the day he was a constant presence for about 2 straight years between singles, features, and album release. My chart is gone and apparently so has his success
