KICK ii was released earlier today
Apparently iii is coming tomorrow, iiii on Thursday and then a 'surprise' drop of v on Friday
Has anyone released four albums in four days before?
On my first listen of ii and LUNA LLENA!
I was gagged when I found out she’s releasing so many albums at once
So far kick ii doesn’t sound like her best work but I hope it will grow on me
having said that, I'm listening to kick iii now and right away BRUJA has blown my f***ing mind * . *
I know, WHAT an opener * . *
this is AOTY material honestly. obsessed
with Intimate Flesh being SOTY of course. that production is making me feel EVERYTHING
* . *
The Arca week continues. Xenomorphgirl
Cannot wait to hear all the 5 albums in order after they are out - that's going to be a wild experience
Lost Woman Found stunning
Same, can’t wait to listen to them all back to back tomorrow.
I thought they could end up being quite samey but they all have their own distinct sound while all being very distinctly Arca
Really huge kudos to Arca for keeping her sound in these three albums! However, I do feel her KiCk i is a lot more polished while there are some great motifs in parts of the other 3 albums but never quite bring them together. Señorita is the best release here in my opinion and reminds me of her standout songs in KiCk i. I also think KicK iii is her best album of the three and can't wait to hear (kIcK?) v!
I’m so beyond impressed by how she managed to have a different sound and vibe in each of these. iiiii is definitely the most tame of the 5 but it might become my second favourite after iii very soon. Crown 😵☠️
So far here’s my ranking
iii
i
iiiii
iiii
ii
This is a LOT to take in during one week but I'm currently just feeling a bit astonished at the scale of it all. I'm not sure which is my fave but I'm liking each of them in a different way, iiiii sounded beautiful this morning.
I look forward to listening to all 4 of these back to back in like a month when I have caught up to this release week in my music listening
So far I have only heard 'Incendio' and 'Born Yesterday', and based on that I am definitely more excited for iii than ii. But no idea what to expect from the other two yet.
Agree there’s a lot to take in, it’s all so impressive.
I love her
Can’t get over how perfect it is having Bruja as the opener and Joya as the closer on iii.
Joya gives me such Björk vibes, beautiful.
No idea how I’d rank them yet, but each one has so many highlights.
I’ve seen ii being a lot of people’s least favourite, but that Prada / Rakata / Tiro / Luna Llena run! 🤩
Hearing them all in a row improves the experience so much. And she actually said that we should listen to all albums in order as it was her intention.
So many songs are clicking now too. Tiro, Rubberneck, Queer, Boquifloja (i'm OBSESSED), Fireprayer.
A(rtist)OTY & A(lbum)OTY by far for me. Love her so much
Wow the last few tracks of iiiii really put the album to top tier Fireprayer is a huge standout and the previous tracks built onto Fireprayer really well too. Certainly the best of the 4 by far!
i>iiiii>iii>ii>iiii
There’s a theory floating around on Reddit that i is a prelude/teaser for all the other albums with each song belonging to one of the 4. It makes so much sense as i is the least cohesive album
Why does iiiii slap SO hard?
I'm so obsessed with this era that it's difficult to stop listening to all of it on repeat. Riquiqui (i know, i'm 2000 and late) and Lethargy are the latest highlights to add to my never-ending list :')
I've still got all of these on repeat. OBSESSED.
What an incredible set of albums. So many highlights throughout, and like you, Pavel, my list of favourites just keeps getting longer :')
YES! I tried switching things up to not get bored or burned out too quickly because some of the iiiii songs don't do the best things for my mood but I'm still utterly obsessed with everything she put out.
Name an artist with more perfect diverse and exhilarating discography that spans years, I'll wait xxo
