Let You Down is a great track, not the sort of music I'm really into at all but it really hit me and the message is interesting as well.

Portugal. The Man — Feel It Still [17-1-1-2-1-2-6-5-11-15-20-xx]

This is still a tune *.* Portugal. The Man's only official hit anywhere is this HUGE song from late 2017 / early 2018. "Feel It Still" was my second most played song of last year behind one of the songs yet to come for very good reason. It's catchy, it's charming, and it's unique in it's sample use and theme. Their following single "Live In The Moment" was a smaller sized hit which made it to #6 on my chart, whilst their most recent single from the same album "Tidal Wave" just missed the top 20. Mostly due to the fact "Tidal Wave" was played to death by me last year along with the rest of their Woodstock album so being released as a single almost a year later didn't serve much justice laugh.gif Unfortunately it looks as if they will go down as a one hit wonder in official charts, but for me I eagerly await any future material.

"Feel It Still" bows out at #3 leaving a top 2 of Avicii and Dua Lipa... I meant to post this last night but fell asleep so I'll post it tonight instead x A few times in this countdown I've thought "hmmm I'm not sure if I'd rank them in that order" but I can confidently say that these three songs are definitively my top 3 songs of 2017. That's including songs from before my chart began too - although Jon Bellion's All Time Low would likely be #4 (but idk because it was kind of a half 2016 song).

Chart History (to December 2018)
2017 Feel It Still [1]
2017 Live In The Moment [6]
2018 Tidal Wave [23]

Dua Lipa — New Rules [3-1-2-4-3-3-3-5-4-8-10-13-19-xx]

A good 60+ chart points above "Feel It Still" we have Queen Dua Lipa's "New Rules" as my second favourite song of 2017. Her album was less than a huge commercial success but a few months after it's release came this incredible song... and we all know what happened next. I'm still on the fence about whether I prefer this to "Be The One", a mid-2016 hit over here, but this is the song with clearly the biggest cultural impact. I think it's safe to say that Dua owes where she is now mostly to "New Rules" - if not for this blowing up who knows if "IDGAF" or later "One Kiss" would have been hits / even existed. Her first single to chart for me was the Wale collab "My Love" which sooooo should have been a commercial hit. I'm 100% confident that if this was released now and not in early 2017 it would be a massive smash everywhere. A shame but I guess it prevents it from becoming overplayed laugh.gif

Dua's continued to get success here although her latest two releases (which aren't singles? or aren't quite, or something) missed the top 20. With a soundtrack single coming in January I reckon she'll be starting 2019 off with her 6th top 10 hit!

Chart History (to December 2018)
2017 My Love (with Wale, Major Lazer, & Wizkid [3]
2017 New Rules [1]
2017 IDGAF [5]
2018 One Kiss (with Calvin Harris) [1]
2018 Electricity (with Silk City) [4]
2018 Want To [32]
2018 Kiss and Make Up (with BLACKPINK) [21]

Avicii ft Sandro Cavazza — Without You [1-1-1-2-2-2-3-4-7-18-19-xx]

And of course taking the #1 spot is Avicii. Who else? The late King of EDM's final release was his Avīci (01) EP in August 2017, the EP instantly topped my album chart whilst he occupied the entire top 3 in my song chart with "Without You", "Lonely Together", and "What Would I Change It To". A record-breaking event at the time although his record has since been matched and beaten by Jon Bellion - though it's still very impressive for my chart. As everyone knows Avicii passed away in April this year and... well I don't really know what to say other than that he was a magnificent artist. He revolutionised commercial dance music in the early 2010's and inspired countless other musicians both in EDM and in other genres. As far as I know a posthumous album of his completed work is being released at some point, although I don't think anyone knows when yet sad.gif They've made the right decision in giving everyone time though before releasing anything.

Following his death "Friend Of Mine" debuted at the top of my chart and it will be making a high appearance in my 2018 EOY Chart. This was by far my favourite song from last year before 2018 even began, and then his death really hit me hard. I don't think I got out of bed all day because I just couldn't deal with it. I don't really know what else to say really... heart.gif

Chart History (to December 2018)
2017 Without You feat. Sandro Cavazza [1]
2017 Lonely Together feat. Rita Ora [2]
2017 What Would I Change It To feat. AlunaGeorge [3]
2018 Friend Of Mine feat. Vargas & Lagola [1]

So that's my 2017 End of Year chart! Ending on a bit of a sombre tone and now I'm listening to Avicii but all is well, my 2018 End of Year will start at some point in the future tongue.gif I'll try not to space it out as much as I did with this - which was originally supposed to last a month at the most and ended up taking a lot longer to complete... oh well laugh.gif Thanks for those of you who read & commented here wub.gif
