33. Migos (feat. Drake) - Walk It Talk It
At first I really didn't think anything of this & actually found it rather irritating but hey ho here it is in my top 40, the power of Drizzy. Definitely one of the best crafted music videos of the year which certainly did it a few favours. |

32. David Guetta (feat. Anne-Marie) - Don't Leave Me Alone
On paper this could have been an absolute trainwreck (well a good number of folk still think it is). However, despite the fact I can't even place any specific reason why I like this, it really wormed its way into my affections after actively avoiding hearing it for a number of weeks. Sometimes a basic dance track like this just *works*. |

31. Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey - The Middle
Oh Zedd, how you deviate so wildly in your quality. Fortunately, this was another good'un that turned into a very respectable hit! It's nothing groundbreaking by any means but Maren's vocals are excellent on this & that chorus is quite the earworm. Keep up with the songs like this & Stay and you most certainly can stay. |

30. Ellie Goulding, Diplo & Swae Lee - Close To Me
Still very much in its chart infancy but after not leaving much of an impression on me at all at first I've really warmed to this in recent weeks, her best in a good few years I'd say. Still think the Swae Lee rap isn't necessary but otherwise the (admittedly rather watered down) Diplo production & trademark vocal quirks give this song a bit more personality. I really like "The Middle" and "Close To Me" from your next set of songs, "Don't Leave Me Alone" is decent, "Bad Vibe" is decent as well.
I actually liked "Walk It Talk It" at start, but now it's meh. |

29. Bebe Rexha (feat. Florida Georgia Line) - Meant to Be
Yes, really. I don't think before this year I'd ever enjoyed a FGL song & Bebe Rexha was one of the least interesting pop gals around but contrary to the popular saying, 2 wrongs did make a right! Its US Chart run was absolutely ridiculous from the self-proclaimed "Queen of Country" but it was amusing to see it pull off a 'Run To You' chart run over here. |

28. Billie Eilish - When The Party's Over
Hands down the best ballad of the year. I can easily see why the Lana Del Rey comparisons were drawn but this is better than anything she has done since her first album. Eerie & thought-provoking, an extremely impressive number from such a young artist - this is a song I'm going to remember. |

Lullaby & Solo are my favourite tracks from their respective artists this year - Body, Bad Vibe and WTPO also manages to crack my Top 100 so some good picks!

Lullaby definitely > Just Got Paid but Baby definitely exceeds Solo imo! Can't fault these guys' consistency either way. Hmmm I wonder which ones you think are terrible |

27. Jason Derulo (feat. French Montana) - Tip Toe
A Christmas-themed video in time for the Christmas season a year on! One of the three carry-overs from 2017 to make this countdown, this is quintessential Derulo really. He's always capable of bringing a belter or two (as well as a few duds *cough* Goodbye) but with Swalla & then even moreso this that's 2 more crackers on his very large table! |

The last 5 songs (before tip toe) are my fave songs here *.* The Middle is an absolute bop and one of my fave dance songs of the year and I'm so glad how massive Meant To Be was worldwide 😍

Mia is okay
Praise The Lord is a great hip hop song, along with that panpipe sample. Body, Solo, Bad Vibe and Lullaby are good. I'll Be There is a great uplifting song. Walk It Talk It and Tip Toe are some fun bops. Don't Leave Me Alone, Close To Me and The Middle are some pretty solid dance choons. I liked Meant To Be. When The Party's Over is really growing on me with its melancholy piano and Eilish's petrified voice. Speaking of Migos, |

Close To Me is a rather nice Ellie comeback but I'm not exactly loving it, she has done better. Glad it's doing well anyhow.
Meant To Be was surprisingly decent considering the names involved, have to agree there. Really like When The Party's Over now too, could end up somewhere in my EOY for 2019. Tip Toe was okay but just a weaker Swalla for me so never could really get into it. |

Hi Dobbo
Praise The Lord (Da Shine) - One of the tunes of the year for me. Amazing that it became a big hit. Solo - Loved this for a week or so but I think it's pretty boring now. Bad Vibe - Really fun track. I do really like the verses on this. Meant To Be - I don't really get the near universal hate of Florida Georgia Line, they're ok. Such a catchy song this. Great chart so far |

Nice to see "When The Party's Over" in your year-end list, also I didn't Know that "Tip Toe" had a christmas-themed video!
I however didn't like "Meant To Be", in other words I hate it. But still, it's a great chart so far! |

Should prolly kick on with this then...
The last 5 songs (before tip toe) are my fave songs here *.* The Middle is an absolute bop and one of my fave dance songs of the year and I'm so glad how massive Meant To Be was worldwide 😍 The Middle gets far too much hate imo! I really never though I'd see the day that FGL would be on the cusp of the UK top 10 Thanks Ultra! Mia is okay Praise The Lord is a great hip hop song, along with that panpipe sample. Speaking of Migos, Thanks DT - that video is amazing cheers for sharing that! Really liking a lot of these so far Dobbo!! Bebe, Ellie, Billie, Derulo, Zedd, M.O, Clean Bandit and Sigala Thanks Joseph Close To Me is a rather nice Ellie comeback but I'm not exactly loving it, she has done better. Agreed but still think it's her best in a good few years, surprised it's not higher but I'm guessing it should rise more after the post-xmas lull. I still don't think I've heard any of Bebe's stuff after MTB but I'm wagering it's pretty bad. Love me some Swalla as well tbf! Hi Dobbo Praise The Lord (Da Shine) - One of the tunes of the year for me. Great chart so far Thanks Lewis! I've kinda gone off Solo as well now a bit hence why it's so low here. I can't believe it took A$AP so long to get a lead top 40 here... Nice to see "When The Party's Over" in your year-end list, also I didn't Know that "Tip Toe" had a christmas-themed video! I however didn't like "Meant To Be", in other words I hate it. But still, it's a great chart so far! I don't really know why it's Christmas theme at all! (other than the fact it was released near-ish the festive period) Fair enough on Meant To Be, definitely a marmite song! |
