BuzzJack Music Forum _ Rihanna _ 1 Year of 'Love On The Brain'

Posted by: Andrew. Aug 27 2017, 04:51 PM

Another anniversary thread, it's been just over a year since 'Love On The Brain' was released as a single! (Where has my life gone tbh ;o) 'Love On The Brain' did very well in the US where it became another top 5 hit for her but it underperformed in the UK only peaking at #145, mainly due to low streaming. Imagine what it could've done with a BBMA-esque X Factor performance, surely one of the biggest missed opportunities of her career sad.gif

It's one of her most emotional ballads and I'm glad that was reflected (sort of) in it's international chart placings, even if it did badly over here. I don't listen to it much these days due to HEAVY overplaying (this happened for a short time at least with every ANTI single, lmao.) but it's still a good song and her live performances of this are absolutely incredible wub.gif

Has 'Love On The Brain' aged well for you? Do you still play it? Discuss chums x

One of the highlights from 'ANTI' for me and how this and 'Kiss It Better' both weren't worldwide smashes baffles me to this day.

It was so underrated from her. Shame the UK couldn't get into this gem.

In The Netherlands it was pretty heavily played on radio but didn't chart at all thanks to its streaming figures being shite (it did OK on iTunes). I think it did pretty well in countries which have radio chart only or charts that don't rely that much on streaming.

It would've been nice if she had given us a video for it.

It would be great if next era she'll give more than 0 f***s about how it'll play out. A girl can dream, right?

FLAWLESS.

I went off even exploring 'Anti' until this was released. Probably the most refreshing and surprising release for pop radio in the last year for me.
