13th week Top 75 potentially w00t.gif Amazing when people were predicting 4-5 weeks before release and she is outselling so many of her female counterparts

Posted by: pippa 2nd July 2018, 04:02 PM

With hope, she hangs on.
That said, in the last few weeks she has ended up lower on Friday than the Monday midweek position.

Thanks for completing this with accurate sales! Interesting that it actually increased in sales whilst dropping 31-38 and how 2,567 was only enough for #36 on week when 2,343 was enough for #31 another week.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 2nd July 2018, 10:39 PM

I think she will actually climb this week. I can see her around 58-60 in the new chart.

Up to #28 on iTunes (#17 taking out compilations) cheer.gif This must be due to R2 airplay?

Posted by: pippa 3rd July 2018, 01:48 PM

Hopefully Golden can do enough to retain a Top 75 position.
A climb would be even greater.

Confirmed by the http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-official-top-40-biggest-albums-of-2018-so-far__22461/ that 'Golden' is the 14th biggest selling album of 2018 and the 4th biggest to be released in 2018, behind George Ezra, Post Malone and Arctic Monkeys, making Kylie the highest placed female.

Posted by: pippa 5th July 2018, 01:27 PM

Wonderful for Kylie.
If the album has further promotion and offers in the coming months it will help it sell further.
It is likely she will have competition for her position from Camila Cabello and Cardi B.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 5th July 2018, 03:21 PM

Camila's sold 96,255 so far (in 24 weeks), compared to Golden's 97,133 (in 12 weeks). Camila was midweek 67 yesterday and Golden #70.

Cardi B's sold 60,619, solely via downloads and streaming units. Currently she's not selling all that much more than Kylie is on a week by week basis (2,751 last week, compared to 1,500), so Invasion of Privacy won't be outselling Golden any time soon.

Anne-Marie is quite likely to overtake Kylie's sales eventually - she's sold 75,198 in 9 weeks and is currently still Top 20.

Posted by: pippa 5th July 2018, 03:27 PM

Cardi B and Camila are likely to have further success in the singles chart which will help them sell their albums for a longer period.
That said, for Kylie to be even on par with them on sales is more than an excellent result for Kylie.
Cardi, B, Camila Cabello and Anne Marie are likely at their peak of success and Kylie is right there with them 30 years into it.

Incredible really - all of those acts seem much more current and relevant than Kylie and at the peak of their careers with a fan base that would likely be much more tuned in to streaming.

Posted by: pippa 6th July 2018, 01:49 PM

Those artists would certainly have the streaming advantage over Kylie.
If Kylie had some form of streaming interest she would likely have a wider sales gap from them than she currently has.

Pleased it managed to cling on - guessing it could exit the Top 75 this week but I’m not disappointed with that!

Posted by: Jay ☆ 7th July 2018, 01:27 PM

Top 75 weeks (studio albums):

70 - Fever
68 - Kylie
34 - Enjoy Yourself
29 - Light Years
29 - Aphrodite
27 - X
23 - Rhythm of Love
18 - Body Language
15 - Kylie Minogue
13 - Golden
12 - Let's Get to It
10 - Kylie Christmas
9 - Kiss Me Once
4 - Impossible Princess

It'll be interesting to see how long Golden stays within the Top 75 Sales chart for, given that chart is directly comparable to her previous studio albums (bar Kylie Christmas).

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 7th July 2018, 09:46 PM

Hopefully it will get a few more weeks at some time in the Top 75 and overtake Kylie Minogue and Body Language.

Raining Glitter is a highlight on the Golden album and would welcome it as the 4th single.
That said, Lost Without You and Musics Too Sad Without You would make wonderful 4th singles and all 3 are stronger than Golden for me.
It is great that she has single opportunities on this album which both Aphrodite and to a higher extinct Kiss Me Once lacked.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 11th July 2018, 02:26 AM

Sales are tight down that end of the chart but hopefully she hangs on,in midweeks she still higher than last week so she should manage it.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 11th July 2018, 07:55 AM

So Friday 16th

She is with the Muppets in the evening

Afternoon there is that competition choreography thing going on at 3.30pm.

Every little bit of promo helps

Could you imagine a kylie video featuring fans and the muppets?

Coincidence that these are on the same day?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 11th July 2018, 12:36 PM

It all helps to keep her name out there and atttract attention to the album.

I am keen for Golden to out do Body Language and KM94 for weeks on the chart.
I am sure Golden will get a re-entries at some point later in the year, so it does look possible.

Well whoever posted it just put it on Wikipedia in advance as it will be true next week!!wiyh golden from here on it's just about how much further sales it can pick up,it's already seen as a successful album for Kylie so everything else is a bonus. Let's hope Kylie still has another one or two number 1 albums left in her yet.

Posted by: pippa 12th July 2018, 01:27 PM

Gold was what i believe most us had hoped for the album and it has managed that.
Over the coming months it would be wonderful if Golden can overtake Kylie Christmas.

Posted by: ___∆___ 12th July 2018, 02:06 PM

What a great era - #1 Gold selling album, Top 40 single with the UK tour, BBC2 headline show, 4th single, Sigala collaboration and potential album repack for the tour/Christmas market.

Posted by: pippa 12th July 2018, 02:51 PM

I would greatly welcome a repackage of the album.
That said, to date Kylie has never truly managed any major success with a repackaged album.
Although, should this happen with Golden, i think they may get it right this time.

I guess the 18 month campaign is not U.K only tongue.gif She’s done 2 shows in New York, been to Paris and is currently in Spain. I’m sure she will get in plenty of promo in the UK with the tour/4th single/Potential Sigala single/BBC headline etc.,

Posted by: SmileyKylie 12th July 2018, 08:09 PM

She has all the tour stuff, Xmas stuff, probably Brit award nomination etc. Plenty still left.

Remember BMG are all about sales as that's how they make their cut they will have things lined up

Posted by: pippa 12th July 2018, 08:09 PM

In todays update it appears Golden is between number 76 and 80.

Posted by: liamk97 12th July 2018, 08:40 PM

^ She's #79, just under 900 copies sold.

Posted by: pippa 12th July 2018, 09:10 PM

It is now likely she will just miss a place in the Top 75.
That said, i would still welcome her staying in the Top 100 for as long as possible.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 12th July 2018, 09:55 PM

The difference of 20 sales could be enough to swing it back into the top75.

Posted by: ___∆___ 12th July 2018, 11:45 PM

TBH I’m not bothered with it leaving the Top 75 - I think it’ll make BMG give it an extra push now the initial sales/hype has faded. Expecting them to do the same as they done with Rick Astley after his album dropped and reduce it to £4.99 - hopefully they will put some effort into the 4th single now.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 13th July 2018, 12:59 AM

The price drop would def help get some sales in and I think it will happen soon. It's gonna be interesting to see what will be picked as 4th single.

Streaming has much more of an impact on the album charts than I realized especially in the lower reaches of the chart where sales are closer.

With that said I’m not against streaming - Kylie sold 900 copies this week and as above would place it at #32 on sales only! huh.gif

I looked at the end of last week to see how it was selling when it was looking likely Golden would miss the Top 75 and it was in the 90s then.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 17th July 2018, 12:45 AM

So it's looking good for a 15th week top 100.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 17th July 2018, 11:32 AM

the Amazon promo finishes at midnight tonight. but 1.5 days of good sales should keep it top 75 if not higher. Good Morning Britain promo on Thursday morning should also give it a further boost on last day of chart week so I think it will probably finish top 60

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 17th July 2018, 12:23 PM

I'd settle for a top 75 return and hopefully top 100 next week too.

She is defo on promo trail again.

It's currently on track to sell just under 1.1k and it actually took less than 1k to make the Top 100 last week! ohmy.gif Hopefully Kylie can make her way into the Top 75 if the album sells better today than it did yesterday.

Posted by: pippa 17th July 2018, 06:33 PM

That would suggest sales will be in or near to that of last week.
If sales are lower all round in that region of the chart it may be enough for Golden to sneak back into the top 75.

Posted by: ___∆___ 17th July 2018, 11:46 PM

So pleased it’s Gold already - hopefully it’s surpassed BMG and Kylie’s expectations with still more opportunity to come to sell the album.

Disappointed that it looks like selling the same as last week - I thought the Amazon promo would have given it a boost but guess it’s easy to get lost in all the Prime Day deals plus it’s been reduced on download for a few weeks now which people may have picked up rather than the physical.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 17th July 2018, 11:55 PM

The Amazon sale was Monday afternoon and all day Tues. We haven't had Tues sales until weds and she also has promo thursday on Good Morning Britain whigh will give her a boost end of week which others won't. Remember 5.99 on Amazon is also higher than all those 4.99 albums ahead of her plus all the new releases.

She is going to have peaks and drops

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 18th July 2018, 12:37 AM

I hoped the price reduction would have a greater impact too but least it's still charting especially on the week it went gold.

Glad it’s back - was expecting 55-65 this week though which seems unlikely.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th July 2018, 09:04 AM

Hope it does make top 75 now

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th July 2018, 09:36 AM

Good morning Britain promo was shit. A quick two min interview to sell your tickets. Probably get top 80 but maybe similar to last week.

She needs to sing live on TV!

Golden also droped from radio 2 playlist

Posted by: pippa 19th July 2018, 09:45 AM

I understand every bit of promotion helps keep the name out there.
That said, a performance is what really attracts sales.
Like last week, as little as 100 sales could change her position by 10-15 places.

Posted by: liamk97 19th July 2018, 12:47 PM

Yeah, same old same old, but I imagine those two minutes on breakfast TV would have helped. The album is #22 on Amazon, I noticed.

Also, #65 on the update today! cheer.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th July 2018, 01:42 PM

YAY!

Shame it broke its run last week.

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th July 2018, 01:52 PM

Love that 10 place climb!

And the GMB interview was short and sweet laugh.gif Kylie and her team really are intent on not pushing ‘Golden’ as a single at all (Not that it matters - single 4 and Sigala now please!).

Posted by: pippa 19th July 2018, 02:42 PM

It looks as though they have just moved completely on from Golden the single. Strange strategy but single 4 needs something more to make it worth while.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th July 2018, 03:23 PM

Kylie to sing on Voice UK Kids final.

good promo to a music audience

final is on Saturday 21st July

expect a release of something on Friday, maybe Golden remixes

Yep I would say the Golden single campaign is over before it started - they got the R2 playlist though which I guess was the only aim.

And totally agree with single 4 - if they follow another Golden then they may as well not bother tbh, although the fact she’s on The Voice Kids final looks promising unless she performs an older hit.

http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/kylie-minogue-to-perform-on-the-final-of-the-voice-kids-uk__23431/

the only thing I am bothered about is if she sings CGYOMH lol as the Now album is released on Friday

Posted by: liamk97 19th July 2018, 04:04 PM

Ooh good news about The Voice Kids final. Strange she couldn't get a spot on the original show earlier this year but I'm pleased she's got some televised promo again. Don't know what she will perform, as much as a Golden performance would be great it seems a little late now that it's off the Radio 2 playlist.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th July 2018, 05:01 PM

Maybe Sigala featuring kylie smile.gif

Posted by: pippa 19th July 2018, 06:19 PM

Wonderful news and another week with some promotion airing.
This i believe should help give the album a little boost.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th July 2018, 06:47 PM

930 copies sold to be at 65 this week so far.

should have surpassed 1000 for the week.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th July 2018, 11:58 PM

Looks safe for a top 75 return now.

35 on sales chart.

I am FUMING.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 20th July 2018, 05:13 PM

Performing Golden tomorrow....

In the show, the six finalists will be performing in the hope of winning the public vote and being crowned champion. And they'll have some very special guests joining them including Kylie Minogue who will performing her new single, Golden.

Posted by: slowdown73 20th July 2018, 05:33 PM

At least it’s not fallen out of T100 but still disappointing as it looked like reentering the T75 midweek.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 20th July 2018, 05:34 PM

i think Golden will be best song to sing.

title of album and a song.

Posted by: pippa 20th July 2018, 05:43 PM

It is a little disappointing but not a surprise, we have seen the last few weeks how quick the position changes and the sales difference is minimal, it at the least registered a climb and remains Top 100.

Posted by: liamk97 20th July 2018, 10:24 PM

Gutted the album dropped so much, no thanks to streaming. Hopefully next week will see it climb and actually hold up if The Voice Kids helps out.

We know that Golden was passed Gold this week, now YouTube has presented Kylie with a celebratory cake:

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 21st July 2018, 01:58 PM

Least it climbed and is still in the charts 4 months in from its release and hopefully the voice performance will help give it a boost.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 21st July 2018, 07:46 PM

She is definitely singing Golden so that's nice. Maybe remixes next Friday? Let's see. Wonder if she has Golden moving to commercial playlists like Magic etc

24 iTunes
18 Amazon download
23 Amazon CD

The show is repeated Sunday afternoon too so let's see.

Love the boosts Kylie gets from TV promo, she really is one of those acts that really benefits from it.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 23rd July 2018, 01:31 AM

In general she does but some of the promo slots were missed opportunities.

Posted by: adancing 23rd July 2018, 07:41 AM

Some new TV Ads are circling for the Album on British TV, BMG is pulling all the stops in the UK...
Nothing for the European market sadly.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 23rd July 2018, 12:09 PM

The TVs adds should be a good help too.

Posted by: pippa 23rd July 2018, 01:46 PM

#59 on the Monday Update - had hoped it would have been higher than that.

Week-by-week sales:

04 13,319
06 8,819

Posted by: pippa 23rd July 2018, 05:59 PM

Probably not a high enough position to ensure Golden a return to the Top 75.
That said, it should be enough for the album to remain Top 100.

Agreed! Solid consistency for weeks now, hopefully putting the album at an advantage when good promotion comes its way (which is why I had hoped the album would have been higher than #59 in the first update, but maybe The Voice Kids just didn't have the right sort of reach?).

Haven't noticed this posted but the full Good Morning Britain interview was uploaded on their YouTube channel:

Posted by: ___∆___ 24th July 2018, 04:44 PM

Updating my Kylie collection at the moment and getting second copies of limited editions and ones to keep sealed etc., - Just got 2 more copies of Golden (Deluxe CD and Clear Vinyl) today so that’s 2 extra sales for this week laugh.gif

Posted by: pippa 24th July 2018, 06:14 PM

Every single sale counts, especially in the lower end of the chart.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 24th July 2018, 09:40 PM

Posted by: pippa 25th July 2018, 12:34 PM

Sales, more or less on par with last week at this point.
Like the last 2 weeks it is hard to call if Golden will be Top 75 or not.

She could have easily sold more cassettes tbh.

They produced more at a later date when the album was released, remember she signed a load to make sure they got to number 1.

#62 again! Even considering the drop it may receive from missing streams being added to the chart, I should think it will remain Top 75, given its actually sold over 1k more so far this week to what it had sold by last Thursday.

Kylie responds to Golden being the best selling cassette of the year:

QUOTE
#Lovers .. this thrills me! #GOLDEN is the number 1 selling cassette so far this year in the UK. When I first had meetings about the album I said I wanted a cassette format. @thenewbmg rose to the occasion and produced a limited number of golden glitter cassettes. I was given a vintage Walkman by a loving friend and the first play on that was just amazing. Memories came flooding back of what it felt like to be a teenager with music at my fingertips and ... attached to my belt! I (we) loved it so much that I’ll be making more! Look out for a special edition for the Golden Tour in September!!! 💛⭐️💛

Posted by: SmileyKylie 27th July 2018, 11:00 AM

It'll literally be the same album with the Gente de Zona mix on and maybe a different cover.

Posted by: pippa 27th July 2018, 01:06 PM

Yet more great news to look forward to.
It is a good time to re-release too as the album is still fresh.
If Kylie and her team are ever going to get a re-release right, i think it will be with this.
I would like to believe, a fourth single to be released soon and a fifth to promote the re-packaged album.
Steps managed a Top 10 placing with their re-release, Kylie has a bigger fan base so i see no reason she couldn't manage the same if handled correctly.

I think it’ll be more than 1 remix tacked on - BMG know that Kylie fans are crazed for limited editions/physicals etc., and the fact that Kylie is so invested in this album and enjoying the success makes me think they’ll be slightly more effort put into it especially as it seems we are going to get multiple formats.

Posted by: Regina 27th July 2018, 01:14 PM

They didn't bother with proper physicals for any of the singles though.

Posted by: pippa 27th July 2018, 01:23 PM

I would think multiple formats will be a possibility.
Remixes and at the least 2 brand new songs and possibly some live versions.
BMG are aware the fans like you said are crazed for limited editions, physicals and i think they will take advantage of this and the give the fans what they want.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 27th July 2018, 02:06 PM

Perhaps the forthcoming cassette would include the deluxe tracks too? The original was just 12 tracks.

We might be getting ahead of ourselves thinking about a full blown re-release... hopefully that's an intention, but all we have to go on so far is a mention of a cassette for the tour, nothing else. Maybe it'll be available at the merchandise stands? We'll see!

I first thought the cassette would be sold on tour but reading her message I think it’s part of a bigger re-issue, they always said this would be an 18 month campaign and releasing an updated version around the tour in September will help set the album up for Q4 sales.

Posted by: pippa 27th July 2018, 03:02 PM

I would project a new cassette version, as Kylie would easily move another 2000+ plus these with a new edition.
It would be likely the new updated version would be a double CD this time.
Both the record company and Kylie know the fans love vinyl so again i could see a new limited edition Vinyl hitting the shelves.
A late September release i believe would be the best time to release.

I guess they are not bothered? Despite it being #74 rather than #25 it’s still sold the same amount. Kylie fans just don’t stream it seems - I’m more disappointed their investment in TV ads haven’t had much of an impact.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th July 2018, 02:49 PM

It's making more money from actual sales so it won't really concern them I'd say.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 29th July 2018, 02:53 PM

This week, 223 of its 1,215 sales came from streaming, which is 18.35%.

Out of the Top 75 albums, only two of them had less streaming units than 'Golden'. 39 albums in the Top 75 "sold" more than 1,215 via streaming alone, so it's no wonder she's suffering such an extreme dip of #25 on sales to #74 with streaming factored in. sad.gif

IP is my favourite/most listened to Kylie album but agree this is a close 2nd! Such a solid album - really hope that she can maintain this with a follow up rather that the highs and lows we sometimes seem to get with Kylie albums.

Golden is strong album from Kylie.
I am unsure where i will rank it in a few years time but i do know it would make my Top 10 of Kylie albums.

Golden #89 today! Guessing it will be out of the Top 100 this week as we know it can easily lose 15-20 places after streaming gets added in.

Posted by: liamk97 30th July 2018, 05:30 PM

A shame that it looks likely to fall out the Top 100, but at least it can be expected to return when the next single gets announced and assuming it gets a better push than 'Golden' did.

Still, Kiss Me Once had fallen out the Top 200 on its 17th week whilst Golden is only just about to fall out the Top 100. Kiss Me Once didn't have streaming to contend with either.

Posted by: ___∆___ 30th July 2018, 05:49 PM

^^ I don’t think it’s a bad thing for it to have low sales for a few weeks - if they push the next single and release a decent repacked album it will have more of an impact hopefully.

Even if it never troubled the charts again i wouldn’t be disappointed - it’s done much better than most expected.

This is the likely result based on things have worked out the last few weeks.
The low sales climate (and it looks particular low this week) may help it stay on the chart.

Posted by: ___∆___ 30th July 2018, 06:19 PM

I'm pretty sure it'll make a return visit.

Posted by: liamk97 3rd August 2018, 08:50 PM

So do I. There seemed to be suggestions that the next single (which we now know to be 'A Lifetime to Repair') would get better promotion than 'Golden' did so hopefully we'll see it comfortably back in the charts. I think that even just Radio 2 airplay would get the album back in the Top 100.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 3rd August 2018, 09:48 PM

Huge drop this week but another 100 sales could have changed that. I do think it will make it back in top 100 in the coming weeks with ease.

Posted by: ___∆___ 3rd August 2018, 09:51 PM

R2 playlist and some promo slots will get the album back in the Top 75 with ease.

If they really wanted and released a CD, Vinyl, Tape bundle they could also have a Top 40 single tongue.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 3rd August 2018, 09:54 PM

I agree, they could pull of another top 40 single by taking advantage of the fans who love physicals and it would also get the album back in the chart.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 4th August 2018, 03:03 AM

A shame to see it fall that much! Hopefully it won't fall out of the Top 200 before A Lifetime to Repair goes to radio.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 4th August 2018, 03:37 AM

Ya that's what I'm hoping to,I still didn't expect a 45 place drop this week though, but considering she only sold about 200 less than ladt week it has made a huge difference last week.

Posted by: ___∆___ 4th August 2018, 09:37 AM

I think it will bounce up and down the charts in this region now - the fact that 10 copies can make a difference makes me think it’ll stay in this region of the charts until promo starts again.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 4th August 2018, 11:25 AM

Hopefully it will and won't drop like this week. If she can keep selling near the thousand until promo kicks in it would be great.Between promo and the re release it might have a chance of catching up on Kylie Christmas although with Kylie back in the limelight Kylie Christmas will prob pick up some sales in November/ December time too.

Posted by: pippa 4th August 2018, 12:03 PM

Kylie Christmas could do reasonably ok in the lower end of the charts this year.
Ideally, Golden will eventually overtake Kylie Christmas sales as it is a much better album.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 4th August 2018, 04:50 PM

Hard to call how well though especially as the re release last year didn't do nearly aswell as I thought it would although it helped get the album a new peak here in Ireland.

Posted by: ___∆___ 4th August 2018, 10:52 PM

I think Kylie Christmas will do reasonably well this year - easy cash in on Kylie’s renewed success for Parlophone to get this out to the supermarkets etc., for £4.99 and with Santa Baby seemingly becoming a Christmas staple they would be mad not to try and push the album.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 5th August 2018, 12:41 AM

If they sell it at a low price it should def do ok so hopefully they do.
It would be nice to see Kylie have 2 albums on the chart in the last quarter.

Posted by: slowdown73 5th August 2018, 02:00 PM

Not sure the new single will make much difference unless they promote it more!

To be fair ‘Golden’ got the album back into the Top 40 after R2 playlisted it. Hopefully BMG will see the need to put a little more effort into the new single now that the album is out of the Top 100.

Posted by: ___∆___ 6th August 2018, 05:25 PM

Golden #84 in today’s mids (Was #89 last Monday) - could possibly make a low Top 100 return this week.

Posted by: liamk97 6th August 2018, 05:32 PM

Glad to see it back in the Top 100, even if it does fall out again. I was worried it would have dropped further.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 6th August 2018, 08:27 PM

It will likely be on track to sell another thousand this week.

Posted by: adancing 6th August 2018, 09:16 PM

Lifetime to repair is an awful choice of 4th single... its very similar to the sound of Dancing.
What happened to the 18 month campaign BMG promised?
When will they understand that they need to release the single on physical formats to make any impact on charts?
Or else whats the point in releasing singles?

Keep the album selling and on this occasion to promote the tour and get last minute ticket sales.

Looking at some of the other acts BMG work with (Rick Astley, James etc.,) they seem to follow the same route - go big with the first single with physicals, remixes etc., then just have the follow ups as ‘radio singles’ to support the album.

I’ve said it many times but if Kylie really wanted physicals for the singles then it would happen, both her and BMG are clearly not interested in doing so and as has been shown in the past physicals do not guarantee a big or Top 40 hit for Kylie (We had multiple formats for IWGC which missed the Top 50).

Huge drop and as she seems to fall more in the later part of the week she will be lucky to stat in the top 150.

Posted by: ___∆___ 11th August 2018, 07:08 PM

I do think the album could go Top 20 with the re-issue, it looks like we will have multiple formats (Definately CD and Tape) and if acts like Steps etc., can do it then Kylie can obviously helped by the low sales climate and multiple fan purchases.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 17th August 2018, 02:04 AM

Yep it’s fallen hard and fast now - even it being £6 on Amazon and part of 2 for £15 at HMV plus the download being £6 on iTunes hasn’t revived it.

A decently handled re-issue will give it a boost especially if we get the promised special edition of a Tape etc.,

Have to say I agree - it’s already achieved 3 things I didn’t expect it to (#1, Top 40 single and certified gold) so even if the re-issue doesn’t happen and it never troubles the charts again this has been a huge success for Kylie, I’d love the momentum to keep going though of course.

^^ A coloured vinyl and tape with limited runs of 5k each for the repackage would add 10k in sales alone (Aside from the CD being updated) so 150k overall with promo is easily achievable but as always I won’t get too excited until things start getting confirmed.

Not convinced the XF will happen after she jumped ship for The Voice.

With sales low at this end of the charts the increased radio play for ALTR plus the Radio 2 show and TV broadcast could easily be enough to send Golden back to the Top 75 at a minimum I’d expect it just outside if it doesn’t make it next week.

38 today on Itunes and thats with all the new releases. good start to the week.

I honestly think we may see a top 40 return this week

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 7th September 2018, 11:36 AM

Top 40 return would be ace but il settle for top 75 as I don't want to get my hopes too high.

#131 this week! 890 sales, 106,698 total.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 7th September 2018, 11:33 PM

Sales up 150 on last week.

Posted by: liamk97 8th September 2018, 08:06 AM

Nice increase there, can't wait for next week!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 8th September 2018, 11:48 AM

It's amazing how a sales difference of about 4 or 5 hundred can make a difference of about 50-60 places on the chart, there really isn't much of a gap between positions 75 and 150 on the chart

Posted by: pippa 8th September 2018, 12:39 PM

I was surprised by the sales for the week just gone as they are higher than i expected for the position.
That said, it is worrying how such a small sales gap can impact a chart position and its like that throughout the whole chart most weeks with the exception of the Top 5.
300 more sales last week would have had Golden clearly in the Top 100.

Showing as ‘Available in 5-7 days’ on Amazon for the standard version which is currently £6 on there so there has definitely been an increase in sales cheer.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 8th September 2018, 02:24 PM

I would be hoping she can increase her sales by at least 1000 this week which would see her comfortably back in the top 75.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 8th September 2018, 06:12 PM

I'm feeling confident it can. The Hyde Park thing seems to be generating a fair amount of publicity and a lot of my friends are talking about it.

(Mind you they're pretty much fans anyway, even if casually)

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 8th September 2018, 06:29 PM

Hopefully alot of the people there are not the ones who have already bought the album. Her iTunes position will probably improve greatly and hopefully physical sales will climb which will most likely happen on Mon and TUes.

Really expecting ‘Golden’ to be challenging for a Top 40 place on Friday - seems to be lots of love for the fact Jason appeared also it’s already #16 on iTunes so could easily climb into the Top 10 tomorrow.

All the other acts (Boyzone, All Saints, Lenny etc.,) we’re plugging their new singles and albums and Kylie just about mentioned Golden was out laugh.gif Bizzare she never pushes her releases and that’s twice now she’s not mentioned or sung current singles at promo opportunities - it feels as though she knows their not going to be hits so kind of releases them because she has to and doesn’t feel the need to promote them all the time?

As I said in another thread she seemed unsure of the crowd last night and seemed to want to play it safe with the hits that people would know.

Golden therefore is most likely safe to achieve its first re-entry back into the top 75 this week.

You’re getting a bit carried away with yourself. The mild promo was at the start of the week, it said bound to start dropping now. It’s not being streamed and possibly won’t make the top 60 now. The red button won’t do shit!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 13th September 2018, 01:18 AM

The main sales benefit would have come early in the week and it was always going to trail off during the week which is why I thought a top 75 re entry was more realistic. I never really expected a top 40 return plus kylie only performed 3 songs from golden.

For me I hope the re release is done well and promoted as if its done right it could help the album just about outsell kylie Christmas.does anyone think kylie Christmas could do much this year with her back in the limelight,at the very best I'm not expecting anything more than a low top 100 re entry.

I think it will do something - it all depends on Parlophone, they might be keen to push it into supermarkets etc., at a low price to cash in on the success of Golden, if they give it some visability it could get some decent sales.

I do also think that Kylie could potentially perform a song from the album during her Xmas promo which would help. I really hope that Santa Baby gets on all the key playlists this year too to get those casual listens/sales going.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 13th September 2018, 12:18 PM

If kylie does promo during Christmas I'd be surprised if she doesn't use the promo to plug golden although she could do mash up of an x mas song and a song from golden.

Posted by: pippa 13th September 2018, 01:35 PM

I would be disappointed if Kylie wasted any promotion slots in the coming months that would not promote Golden.
Golden as an album is more important to promote and i also believe Kylie would enjoy promoting it more too.

Posted by: ___∆___ 13th September 2018, 02:53 PM

^^ I think Kylie has proved she doesn’t always use promo slots as wisely as possible recently.

I think if she gets on any ‘Christmas Specials’ she could easily perform a Christmas track over one from ‘Golden’ tbh.

Posted by: pippa 13th September 2018, 03:07 PM

Unfortunately that is true and that has been highlighted with recent singles Golden and A Lifetime To Repair.

Posted by: pippa 13th September 2018, 06:54 PM

The album should manage at least 1,300 for this week, which helps bring total sales nearer to 110,000.

Posted by: liamk97 13th September 2018, 06:57 PM

Will be interesting to see whether the tour will help it remain Top 100. Would be nice if it can remain 1k+ for a while.

Posted by: pippa 13th September 2018, 07:01 PM

It would be wonderful if the tour could help it maintain a chart position for at least a week or 2.
If the current edition can manage 115,000 it would result in the new edition roughly needing 35,000 sales to outsell Kylie Christmas and also double the sales of Kiss Me Once.

Great to see it over 1k after the sales in the last few weeks. I think the tour will have people seeking it out as casual fans that are going along will want to know the new songs (For example one of my friends who is coming to opening night just downloaded the album cheer.gif )

It would be wonderful if it remains in the Top 75.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 18th September 2018, 10:11 PM

Climbed back up to 16 on iTunes. It's had an impressive run

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 18th September 2018, 11:50 PM

That maybe a further smaller indicator it will stay top 75 for this week.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 19th September 2018, 12:21 AM

Glad to see that Golden is holding up so well! Hopefully the tour will see it remain in the Top 75 for at least another 2 weeks after the upcoming chart.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th September 2018, 12:26 AM

Ya it would be great if the tour can help keep the album in the charts for at least an extra week or two.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th September 2018, 02:59 AM

Ladies and gents it's quarter 4 coming up. They will want to sell a lot so expect big promo and new editions. Remember BMG are purely looking to sell this album to make money that's the agreement they have together.it will be pushed throughout quarter4

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th September 2018, 06:06 AM

Up to #14 on iTunes after opening night cheer.gif

Posted by: liamk97 19th September 2018, 10:09 AM

And back in the Top 10 at #10! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th September 2018, 10:54 AM

Great result and two weeks in a row it has returned to the top 10. All looks good for this week now.

Posted by: pippa 19th September 2018, 01:28 PM

I am extremely happy with how the album is performing this week.
With the tour on it should help keep sales clearly over 1200 for at least this week and next week.

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th September 2018, 04:18 PM

Fantastic impact from just the opening night - the tour should keep the album selling for the duration and then the Q4 promo, next single and repackage will kick in cheer.gif

Posted by: pippa 19th September 2018, 04:28 PM

Hopefully people will have purchased the cd today after the seeing the tour last night.
If the re-package is handled well Kylie could sell reasonably well for the last quarter.

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th September 2018, 05:11 PM

The limited edition cassette has a November 9th release date - hopefully other editions will be released!.

The tape is limited to 1,500 so taking away sales from fans overseas she should add another 1,000 to Golden’s total.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th September 2018, 05:45 PM

Any one know mid week position today?

The other new formats all need to be released at the same time to ensure the best peak position.

Yes I hope we don’t get split weeks - all formats need to hit in the same week for maximum chart impact.

Posted by: pippa 19th September 2018, 08:38 PM

Split week will kill any chances it has.
The higher position it gets might also attract further attention.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 19th September 2018, 09:03 PM

Can. Just say the usual minimum amount of cassettes in one batch is 4000..... So they will no doubt have another 2.5k to release if all these can pre ordered etc.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th September 2018, 09:40 PM

These types of phyisicals snd re additions add excitement and will boost sales. If the new edition as I have said before is handled well it ciuld sell very well until the end of the year.

Hopefully, it doesnt follow its traditional late week drop in the chart and instead hold where it is or higher.

Yes even when it was first released it struggled on streaming! Guess people are listening before and after the show dance.gif

Posted by: pippa 20th September 2018, 09:39 PM

Possibly a few more streams tonight after the concert but not enough to make a difference for this week.
The concert may help the sales off to a strong start tomorrow.

It’s a shame how many people buy items like this just to be opportunistic and make a profit. sad.gif Just like with the Sainsbury’s vinyl!

Great to see Golden doing well this week, I hope it stays within the Top 60!

Fantastic especially as it was so close to dropping out of the charts totally!

That is a great outcome for this week as it appears to have sold close to 1,800.

Its quite amazing......

sellin 1.75k in mid September after releasing in April.

and Dancing top 100 on Itunes still having been bobbing around since january!!!!

Posted by: pippa 21st September 2018, 07:33 PM

It is a good sales boost at this point.
I do remember many people saying (not here) but in the chart forum, that it will be funny how quick Kylie will fall after her initial debut at Number 1 with Golden.
Once again, Kylie has shown she has staying power.

There is a good chance that Golden will remain on the chart in the coming week too which would be wonderful.

Posted by: ___∆___ 21st September 2018, 08:02 PM

With the tour, reissue, next single and Q4 promo ‘Golden’ could easily stay in the T75 until January.

Posted by: pippa 21st September 2018, 08:08 PM

I would greatly welcome that result.
The re-issue i am hoping can pick up some good sales over Christmas.
I have said for a while now i would greatly welcome Golden surpassing Kylie Christmas Sales.

Posted by: slowdown73 21st September 2018, 11:40 PM

It’s good to see the album recover - I hope we get a reissue on CD which will help continue the upward trend in sales. It could potentially shift over 200k if there’s a good reissue with plenty of promotion.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 22nd September 2018, 03:22 AM

I'd be so happy with 200k total sales.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 22nd September 2018, 04:32 AM

Fingers crossed that there really will be a CD/Vinyl re-issue in the pipeline!

Very pleased with this week's position. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 22nd September 2018, 07:02 AM

Ya I hopw the same or I will be very disappointed if there is no re issue.

Posted by: ___∆___ 22nd September 2018, 07:25 AM

Yes let’s hope that a 1,500 copy cassette run of Golden is not the re-issue Kylie was talking about! I need bonus tracks, alternative cover, vinyl, coloured vinyl, picture disc, CD, deluxe CD, cassette, USB stick, Flexi disc and mini disc versions laugh.gif tongue.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 22nd September 2018, 09:33 AM

My thoughts exactly.

Posted by: liamk97 22nd September 2018, 01:14 PM

Very pleased to see it continuing to climb! biggrin.gif Seems to get a boost on iTunes after each gig so I think it will continue to perform well.

Compare that with the tour boost for Kiss Me Once which could only just get it to scrape the Top 100 again.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 22nd September 2018, 03:27 PM

Reduced to £5 on Amazon so should stay top 75 this week. iTunes 16th again starting Friday 28th even with all new releases

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 22nd September 2018, 06:52 PM

Posted by: ___∆___ 22nd September 2018, 08:03 PM

It's good her streaming is improving even if it's just a tiny bit.

Posted by: hexschofield 22nd September 2018, 09:23 PM

Golden is such a fabulous album, I have been a fan since I was 10 years old and am now 41. The album is so well crafted and is back to her ultimate best. You could tell on the tour that I saw in Birmingham she loves singing every song from the album.

Latest on iTunes album sitting at No 10 I am so impressed with the steady sales of Golden in a streaming era that quite frankly I don't understand or wish to.

Posted by: hexschofield 23rd September 2018, 04:06 PM

I really hope there is a re issue and it is not just chatter - New Your City has to get released I love it... The re issue though would be more pop related tracks, will Kylie want to dilute the Country vibe on a re issue....?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 23rd September 2018, 05:16 PM

I am hoping something is confirmed soon as part of me thinks it may not happen. I am hoping when the tour comes to Ireland it gets the album back in the chart, while it got Kylie her best peak in a while it fell out of the chart very quickly and hasnt returned since.

Posted by: tommie 23rd September 2018, 05:40 PM

Q4 and higher album sales in general will kick in soon, so lower price is good news.

I hope they have something planned and Dannii's much older sister will be out promoting.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 23rd September 2018, 07:15 PM

The low price does help and with this and the tour it will help keeping the sales going.

Posted by: ___∆___ 23rd September 2018, 07:48 PM

I’m sure there will be some sort of repackage - BMG know it’s the only way to get shelf space in the Q4 period if they have something new to offer.
