Right now okay after a whopping 26 rates, and 24 singles, which one will come out on top, the results will be starting in this thread.

24. Walk This Way

Avg: 4.519

Highest Rates: 9.5 (Alex), 9 (Insomnio)
Lowest Rates: 0 (Adam Aloud, JoeP, Atonement, Aled, J*hq), -1 (Niall Minogue & Leonardo)

At #24 is Girls Aloud first and only collaboration with rival girl group at the time Sugababes. Released in March 2007 as the official comic relief single of that year. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time, given the fact that they were both the main and biggest girl groups at the time. The idea came from Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis, and the other songs that were in the running were Blur's "Girls And Boys" and Candi Staton's "You've Got The Love", but "WTW" was chosen instead, and despite entering the charts at #1, Girls Aloud 3rd and Sugababes 6th, the song was hated by almost everyone, and it's not hard to see why, It dropped down the charts very quickly, lasting only one week at #1 and 1 more week in the top 10, before sky diving straight out. On this rate this is the only one not to score any 10's, but did manage two 9's, but a lot of low scores, five 0's and eight over low scores, which brought it's average right down to 4.519.

A deserved last place. I was so EXCITED when I heard GA and Sugababes were gonna collab. I was rather hoping for a Xenomania modern day dance-pop classic! And instead... manson.gif

23. Theme To St Trinian's

Avg: 4.916

Highest Rates: 10 (Adam Aloud)
Lowest Rates: 0 (Joe P, Jsily)

At #23 is "Theme To St Trinians" which okay is not an actual single by the girls, and was released only as a promo in December 2007 to promote the film of the same name, where Girls Aloud have a cameo appearance at the end which was also used as the official music video. The track did manage to chart at #51 thanks to high downloads, but was soon taken off iTunes due to the upcoming release of "Call The Shots".

22. Beautiful Cause You Loved Me

Avg: 5.596

Highest Rates: 10 (Cameron)
Lowest Rates: 0 (Atonement), -1 (Adam Aloud, JoeP & Aled)

At #22 is Girls Aloud's final single "Beautiful Cause You Loved Me", taken as the 2nd single from they're 2nd compilation album "Ten" in December 2012. And instead of ending their career's on a high, they went out like a damp squid, bombing in the UK charts at #97, despite performances on Top Of The Pops and Children In Need, it still failed to find interest, despite being one of 4 new songs on "Ten". Makes me wonder why they didn't just release "On The Metro" instead, which would have fared much better.

Theme to St. Trinian's beating any of their actual singles... sad.gif

BCYLM is a bit underrated but was a crap single choice anyway.

21. I Think We're Alone Now

Avg: 6.23

Highest Rates: 11 (Jsily)
Lowest Rates: 0 (JoeP, Mike Sugafan)

Just outside the top 20 is "I Think We're Alone Now" another greatest hits release single, taken from they're first compilation album "The Sound Of Girls Aloud" and released as the 2nd single in December 2006 and originally recorded by Tiffani in 1987 where her version topped the charts. This was one of Girls Aloud's last ever covers, thankfully. Originally Irene Cara's "What A Feeling" was gonna be in it's place on the album, but the girls changed their minds and decided on this instead and 3 days before the album was manufactured, which was why when released it was re-recorded. The single charted at #50 in it's first week due to digital downloads, and then shot up to #4 the following week after it's official release in X-Mas week and spent 7 weeks in the UK top 75.

20. See The Day

Avg: 6.538

Highest Rates: 10 (Liam, Alex & Cameron)
Lowest Rates: 0 (JoeP), 2 (Outstanding Mixer)

At #20 is "See The Day" released in December 2005 and taken as the third single from their 3rd album "Chemistry". Originally recorded by Dee C Lee in 1985 and reached #3 and 20 years later Girls Aloud brought the song back in the top 10, peaking at #9, which isn't bad, still continuing their string of top 10 hits and being rush released for the Christmas market and just 4 weeks after "Biology" was released. The song spent 6 weeks in the UK top 75 and even became a top 10 airplay hit. Personally I think there were much better tracks on the album and "WLH" should have been released instead for X-Mas and "Models" or "Watch Me Go" could have followed 4th. It did manage three 10's on this rate, but also a lot of average and below average votes as well.

See The Day is criminally underrated sad.gif it's lovely, easily their best ballad! I don't generally like their ballads a huge amount as a rule, I LOVE See The Day though and I'll Stand By You too.

BCYLM should have been last, utter borefest. What a shame that their largely incredible run of singles ended like that sad.gif

I do like 'See The Day' but the fact it got a single release off the fabulous 'Chemistry' is a true injustice.

I definitely don't HATE See The Day, it just sounds so out of place on the album, let alone as a single release. Models and Swinging London Town needed one more sad.gif

19. Long Hot Summer

Avg: 6.788

Highest Rates: 10 (Heezus, Insomnio)
Lowest Rates: 0 (JoeP)

At #19 is another "Chemistry" era single out. Released August 2005 as the lead single from their 3rd album and originally supposed to be included on Herbie Fully Loaded soundtrack, but the plans fell through. The song became their first single to miss the top 5, peaking at #7 and the song itself was rushed by the song's writer Brian Higgins in order to chase the soundtrack and was made in a panic, and in the end both he and the girls hated the song. I actually like the song, it's catchy and fun and maybe not up to the brilliance of their others, it's still great. It managed two 10's on this rate and eleven high rates, but also nine average and low rates.
