Lead singer Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2008 and went through several member changes before finally coming together with current members Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman in 2010. The band derives their name from the song "Walking on the Moon" by The Police. The group independently released their debut album, I Want! I Want!, in November 2010, receiving airplay for the track "Anna Sun" on multiple Alternative radio stations. In February 2011, Walk the Moon signed with Mick Management. They signed to RCA Records and released their first major label album, their second overall, the self-titled Walk the Moon, in June 2012. It is composed of many of their original tracks from I Want! I Want! as well as new tracks that were written specifically for the album and were meant to reflect the kind of energy the band produced in their live shows. In December 2014, the band released their second major-label studio album, Talking Is Hard. This album included their biggest hit to date, "Shut Up and Dance," which has so far charted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 1 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart and Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. SPIN Magazine has described them as a "poppy, art-rock quartet". They were also deemed a Nylon Magazine Band Crush for their "swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses." - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2012 82 Anna Sun -1- 2015 04 Shut Up + Dance -1- Discussion Thread Here --------------------------------------------------------- 33 34 18 Little Mix Black Magic Get Weird | 2015 Chart Run: 1-1-1-3-4-6-10-11-13-15-20-23-29-31-36-37-34-33 Release date: 10-07-2015 Format: digital single Label: Syco Music Chart sales: 500k+ Sales only chart peak: 1 Streaming only chart peak: 3 Video here: Biography Little Mix (formerly known as Rhythmix) is an English girl group formed in 2011, consisting of members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, first discovered him through his YouTube videos in 2007. Braun, as noted, was impressed with the videos resulting in contacting Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette, about wanting to work with his musical abilities. Moreover, him having convinced his mother, Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with singer-songwriter, Usher, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bieber was signed to RBMG, a record label based in Atlanta, then to Island Records -- part of Def Jam Records -- with a recording contract offered by a prominent record executive, L.A. Reid. He released his debut EP, My World, in November 2009. It has been certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, in March 2010. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the single, "Baby", which is also, as of July 2014, the YouTube video with the most dislikes, and the most views on a Vevo platform. He followed up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix album titled, My Worlds Acoustic, and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Bieber released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012. He has received numerous industry awards, including both Artist of the Year Awards at the 2010 American Music Awards, and the 2012 American Music Awards. He has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. With his growing national and international fan base, they have been dubbed "beliebers" who largely consist of early to mid-adolescent women. He has millions of "followers" on Twitter and other social media accounts. He has been listed three times by Forbes magazine as one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world in 2011, 2012, and 2013. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2010 11 One Time -1- 2010 71 Love Me -PS- 2010 62 One Less Lonely Girl -2- 2010 76 Favorite Girl -PS- 2010 03 Baby (Justin Bieber Feat. Making a rare appearance here to show my support for In2... will be another massive moment for the UK urban scene to see this chart in the top 5 as looks likely! First hearing it in July on late night 1Xtra and pirate radio and seeing this take off and become massive has been one of the music highlights of the year for me. In2 sounds like a modern day R&B classic. OMG You're grown to be a loon like a Saturdays loon to be honest |

He was born and brought up in Croydon, South London; his parents divorced when he was four, and his mother worked three jobs to make ends meet. While still in his early teens, he suffered from depression and alcoholism, before discovering music. At the age of 15 he formed the rock band the Lost Audio with his brother, guitarist Alex, and toured the country before Alex developed a hearing problem and had to give up performing. Ben decided to audition for The X Factor; at the time he was working as a van driver, singing to passers-by on the street. From his first performance on the show, Simon Cowell was a vocal supporter, expressing surprise that he didn't already have a record deal. With his boyish good looks, down-to-earth personality, and powerful, versatile voice, Haenow was an early favorite to win, and eventually triumphed with 57% of the public vote. In traditional X Factor fashion, his debut single, a cover of OneRepublic's "Something I Need," was released in late December and became the U.K.'s Christmas number one, beating Mark Ronson's hotly anticipated comeback single "Uptown Funk" to the top spot. Shortly thereafter, on his 30th birthday, Haenow unsurprisingly signed to Cowell's Syco label and began work on his debut album, which was expected to be released some time in 2015. - iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): Ben Haenow 2014 01 Something I Need -1- 2015 21 Second Hand Heart (Ben Haenow Feat. Born in Essex in 1984, Murs showed little interest in singing while at school, focusing his attention on football, where he played for the school team and later semi-professionally for local non-league team Witham Town. In 2007, he appeared on Deal or No Deal, where he won a lowly £10, but it was his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" on the sixth series of The X Factor that enabled him to show off his talents. Mentored by Simon Cowell in the live stages, he wowed judges with renditions of songs by the Beatles, Queen, and George Michael and soon became the favorite to win the show. However, despite a duet with musical hero Robbie Williams in the final, Murs finished a respectable second. In 2010, he signed a six-figure record deal with Epic/Syco Music and embarked on the sold-out X Factor arena tour. After being personally invited by Williams to play at the televised charity football event Soccer Aid, Murs released his first single, the Jason Mraz-inspired "Please Don't Let Me Go," in August. His debut album, featuring songs written by Eg White, Scouting for Girls' Roy Stride, and Wayne Hector, was released in 2010. The record produced three U.K. Top 20 singles, with "Thinking of Me" and "Heart on My Sleeve" racking up chart positions alongside the debut number one "Please Don't Let Me Go." Murs took a short break from his musical career in late 2011 to present the eighth season of The Xtra Factor — a spinoff behind-the-scenes look at The X Factor — returning to the program that shot him to fame. His experience with the dynamics involved in the show and his upbeat character made him a firm favorite with the audience — as well as flirty co-presenter Caroline Flack. During the recording of each show, Murs was working on songs for his second album with writers Steve Robson (Lily Allen, James Morrison) and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys). The first single from his second record, "Heart Skips a Beat," featuring U.K. hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, was released in summer 2011 and swiftly became a hit. The full release, In Case You Didn't Know, followed in November and secured his first U.K. number one album. The following year, Murs opened for sprightly boy band One Direction on their North American tour and re-released the "Heart Skips a Beat" single, replacing Rizzle Kicks with Philadelphia rap duo Chiddy Bang, to coincide with the shows. Also in 2012, Murs released his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, which included the single "Troublemaker," featuring rapper Flo Rida. - Jon O'Brien & Scott Kerr, Rovi / iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2010 01 Please Don't Let Me Go -1- 2010 69 This One's For The Girls -B side- 2010 04 Thinking Of Me -2- 2011 20 Heart On My Sleeve -3- 2011 45 Busy -4- 2011 01 Heart Skips A Beat (Olly Murs Feat. The duo is composed of Ben Haggerty, a rapper who goes by the name of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, a record producer, DJ, and professional photographer, who met the former at a photo shoot and they have significantly collaborated ever since. In 2009, they released their first collaborative effort, an EP titled VS. EP. They have since followed up with VS. Redux (2010) and the Grammy Award-winning album The Heist (2012). Macklemore and Lewis' single "Thrift Shop" reached at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2013. The single was premiered on commercial radio by radio personality Jay Postal on September 2, 2012, and was soon dubbed the first song since 1994 to top the Hot 100 chart without the support of a major record label by Billboard, although Macklemore, in a slightly unusual recording contract, pays a nominal percentage of sales to use Warner Bros. Records’ radio promotion department to push his singles. Their second single, "Can't Hold Us" also peaked at number one of the Hot 100 Chart, making Macklemore and Lewis the first duo in the chart's history to have their first two singles both reach the peak position. Macklemore and Lewis released their debut studio album The Heist on October 9, 2012, which charted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200. The pair was nominated for seven Grammy awards at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, winning four awards, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album (The Heist), Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance ("Thrift Shop"). Thrift Shop has gained approximately 755,776,153 YouTube views as of August 29, 2015. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 2013 01 Thrift Shop (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Feat. Marvin Gaye is still great, didn't realise it was still here
Firestone isn't as bad as it used to be but still isn't very good! Peanut Butter Jelly is such a jam Not heard the 1D one but sounds awful from the preview. Alone No More is beyond terrible, glad it isn't doing well chart-run wise! Lean On is quite good but really needs to go away now Omg is shut up and dance still in??? That REALLY needs to disappear, beyond terrible song Black Magic is amazing Not heard this Bieber one either. Again doesn't sound good from the preview. Don't Be So Hard On Yourself has grown so much on me again recently Easy Love is still an amazing jam Adore Second Hand Heart, deserves to do so much better Do It Again is still great, hope Touch can become a hit soon! Kiss Me is also so good, hope this starts climbing soon, one of my favourite Olly singles already Downtown is still pretty good, had no clue it was this low Thought it was still top 15 Can't Feel My face is great |
