I see Iceland are one of the early bookies faves but I really can't see this been any higher than low top 10 at the very best.

Oh that's because they had predicted Bashar winning. I think the odds will drop drastically following Hera's win (as has happened to a couple of betting sites already).

Well that bodes well for Hera.

What a baffling result, as much as I love her.

Wild West was so much better than this. I mean, Scared Of Heights is decent pop but they fluffed it. Unfortunate really that'Wild West wouldn't have had an organic run at Eurovision and I guess some of the vote was to avoid the political complications but this was a missed opportunity for Iceland, probably a NQ now.

Hera hasnt been confirmed yet because there has been a LOT of controversy surrounding last weekend's results. Lots of honestly strange and suspicious stuff ranging from voting irregularities, lack of transparency from RUV, a LOT of people struggling to vote for Bashar because of some highly sus issues, text/app votes being down from 15-20% share of the total votes (on average) to a very unconvincing 1.5% share, and now Ásdís (the writer of the winning song) has said she wants to forfeit the win and allow Bashar to go but RUV said no

I just don't understand why RUV allowed Bashar to compete in the first place if they didnt want him to win

The amount of stanning I've seen in the last couple of weeks in the Eurovision fandom is astounding 😭😭😭 I think there's a chance this could do well now thinking.gif

...where have you seen this stanning? It's literally 36th out of 37 on the Eurovision Scoreboard app, with half the points of the song in 35th laugh.gif

I've seen a lot of people ironically stanning Hera on twitter, but I don't think they're actually planning on voting for her laugh.gif

I think we can safely guess what end of the scoreboard this is heading for on based on the fact that it sounds like a note-for-note recreation of the only song to get nul points under the current system x

Many of the Discord Eurovision communities I'm in kink.gif (which has a bit of crossover with Eurovision Twitter as Ansel has pointed out above)

I still don't think Hera will do well at all, despite the MOTHERRR comments all over social media, at least some of which are ironic. I guess she's a nice, glamorous older lady, so fits the mother bill, but the song itself is still pretty average, and in a competitive semi-final. Even if it does make it out of the semi somehow, it's not jury bait and is exactly the sort of generic dance song that does ok in the semis before completely floundering on the final televote. Then again, it would be nice for an AQ not to be last for once, so I don't mind if she makes the final!

Also, the sheer injustice if it finished above the almighty Je Ne Sais Quoi drama.gif
