Yes! 'Bad Girls' came to my mind too - a song that is full of attitude and empowerment and blends genres of the world. That's the sort of thing that would appeal to Madonna yet we get juvenile, happy-clappy pop with their two collabs? The result definitely isn't equal to the sum of its parts. That was always something that confused me — why would anyone choose to work with M.I.A. and then come up with those songs? She was clearly drawn to her for a reason. I remember being so excited at the prospect of them working together — how wrong I was. The results would have been massively different if she went to M.I.A. for Madame X instead. Imagine. Yes! Madame X and M.I.A. would have been perfect! A shame that things seemed to be left on bad terms between Madonna and M.I.A. so we'll probably never get to see them work together again.

You can do whatever you like 235. S.E.X. // Rebel Heart // 3.808 234. Did You Do It? // Erotica // 3.846 233. Superstar // MDNA // 3.885 232. Body Shop // Rebel Heart // 3.923 231. Goodnight and Thank You // Evita // 4.083 The 10s take a big hit here, especially Rebel Heart as it loses two album tracks! S.E.X. features on the deluxe version of the album and as the title suggests it is a sordid, fetishized song about M's fantasies, sexual positions and demands in the bedroom. It leaves nothing to the imagination... unlike Body Shop which uses the anology of a car and being serviced to the act of sex. Here, M is a car having all sorts of parts investigated, looked at and repaired by a worker at a body shop where she's happy to spend the night. We also lose Did You Do It? which heavily samples another track from Erotica that is still to come; it features the same instrumental and chorus as 'Waiting'! MDNA takes its second hit as Superstar's light dims. The playful, simplistic lyrics and nature of the song compare M's lover to famous people ranging from Travolta to Lincoln! A music video for the track was filmed, but never released due to its controversial nature: apparently Madonna wanted to dress as a "Terror Bride", a combination of an Iraqi bridal veil and a US soldier's uniform. Finally Evita loses its first track as Goodnight and Thank You bows out - how many more tracks from the soundtrack will miss the top 200? Madonna: 8/8 Like A Virgin: 8/9 True Blue: 9/9 Like A Prayer: 10/11 Other (80s): 10/10 I'm Breathless: 10/12 Erotica: 13/14 Bedtime Stories: 11/11 Evita: 12/13 Ray of Light: 14/14 Other (90s): 12/12 Music: 13/13 American Life: 11/11 Confessions On A Dancefloor: 15/15 Hard Candy: 13/13 Other (00s): 4/5 MDNA: 14/16 Rebel Heart: 22/25 Madame X: 18/18 Other (10s): 3/3 80s: 45/47 90s: 72/76 00s: 56/57 10s: 57/62 |

S.E.X. - i can't say i've ever warmed to this. i get being explicit but this is a bit OTT, like we get it, you're sexually charged, but there are less abhorrent ways of making that point
Did You Do It? - one of her most forgettable songs so no fuss here Superstar - this was being geared up as single material in some places wasn't it? pretty annoying song and not fussed it's out Body Shop - the one i am most upset about here. I didn't expect it to do too well but i thought better than this !! a real earworm, catchy one even though lyrically it's pretty disastrous Goodnight and Thank You - no real opinion on this |

I don't mind 'S.E.X' but I can see why others would rate it so low. When you think back to 'Justify My Love' and the Erotica album where she displayed tact, humour, sensuality (depth beyond the shocks), this is kinda just explicit for the sake of it.
'Superstar' has always really annoyed me. The lyrics are horrendous and the chorus is flat as... I should have scored it lower tbh. Thank goodness it never became a single, although I've never heard that video rumour before. As if she was planning a controversial video for 'Superstar' when 'Gang Bang' was right there. A shame to see 'Body Shop' drop out so early. Again, I can see why some may not like it, but it's got an interesting production and there's some really nice melodies in there, which is enough to disguise the somewhat strange lyrics. The only redeeming feature of 'Did You Do It?' is the 'Waiting' instrumental and I couldn't tell you how 'Goodnight and Thank You' goes. |

No losses there for me, they are all things I've heard about twice and have no desire to return to.

Got their "f*** me" porn star heels on 230. Turn Up The Radio // MDNA // 4.192 229. Eva and Magaldi / Eva Beware of the City // Evita // 4.250 228. Waltz for Eva and Che // Evita // 4.250 (higher top score) 227. Some Girls // MDNA // 4.269 226. Champagne Rosé (Quavo feat. Madonna and Cardi B) // QUAVO HUNCHO // 4.269 (higher top score) A second Madonna single leaves and it is yet another MDNA track - 'Turn Up the Radio' actually received fairly positive reviews from critics at the time, but it seems the fans have different thoughts. It's very 'heard it all before', from Solveig's unimaginative beats, the cliche lyrics and its generic title; it doesn't leave a distinct impression. Two tracks from the Evita soundtrack leave in the shape of 'Eva and Magaldi / Eva Beware of the City' and 'Waltz for Eva and Che', both of which are more narratives for the musical rather than songs in their own right. 'Some Girls' is the fourth MDNA track to drop, this time an Orbit production in which Madonna lists all the types of girls she's not. Completing this section is 2018's surprise track 'Champagne Rosé' from Quavo, featuring a guest verse from Cardi B alongside Madonna's hook. Madonna's vocal is processed beyond belief and her pronunciation leaves a lot to be desired but the whole thing is strangely hypnotic. Madonna: 8/8 Like A Virgin: 8/9 True Blue: 9/9 Like A Prayer: 10/11 Other (80s): 10/10 I'm Breathless: 10/12 Erotica: 13/14 Bedtime Stories: 11/11 Evita: 10/13 Ray of Light: 14/14 Other (90s): 12/12 Music: 13/13 American Life: 11/11 Confessions On A Dancefloor: 15/15 Hard Candy: 13/13 Other (00s): 4/5 MDNA: 12/16 Rebel Heart: 22/25 Madame X: 18/18 Other (10s): 2/3 80s: 45/47 90s: 70/76 00s: 56/57 10s: 54/62 |

Is Turn Up The Radio the first single to depart then? Officially our least favourite, at least it has something notable about it now

Turn Up The Radio is so generic and faceless it deserves a low placing but 230th!? Wow, you guys were harsh!
Some Girls is my favourite from this selection - sure it's not ground-breaking but it's electric and fierce and such a POWER WALKING (the dog) tune *.* The Evita tracks... imma pass on them and that Cardi associating herself with our queen, nah bye burn with fire. |

I probably wouldn't have had 'Turn Up the Radio' this low. It's sooo faceless and the production is uninspired but I can at least admit I find it catchy. Tbf, it's absolutely fine for the intro and first verse, it's when you get the chorus where it starts to fails. "Turn up the radio / turn up the radio / don't ask me where I wanna go / just turn up the radio" Really Madonna? I know simple hooks usually work better but I've heard lyrics like that a million times before.
'Some Girls' being this low is a real surprise. I had no idea it was considered one of the worst on MDNA. I quite like it, reminds me of an EDM 'She's Not Me'. |

Superstar had a video ? Hmmm I have never ever heard about this !
Body shop is under appreciated , the best song lost so far. TUTR as worst single is a good choice. |

When you reach out I'll be there 225. A New Argentina // Evita // 4.333 224. Hello and Goodbye // Evita // 4.375 223. Bitch I'm Madonna // Rebel Heart // 4.423 222. Ring My Bell // Hard Candy // 4.429 221. Ain't No Big Deal // Others (80s) // 4.467 Two more tracks from the Evita soundtrack drop out in quick succession here. The first A New Argentina, is a politically charged anthem with soaring, passionate vocals from Madonna as she sings of hope and revolution. Hello and Goodbye is a short interlude-like number with Eva addressing a mistress as she goes through changes. It barely qualifies as a full song so it's no wonder it is out already. A big single now, one of Madonna's most viewed music videos and the third single from Rebel Heart (which is having a really bad time in this rate so far). Bitch I'm Madonna has Madonna once again teaming up with Nicki, to sing about how being Madonna leads to a life of fun only - not much else to take from it, it's totally throwaway and self-indulgent and so far removed from her other material and yet it fits with the growth of the parent album it is taken from which frequently charts her rise to fame and what it stands for now. Ring My Bell is the first Hard Candy out, and on the album it is a bonus track on the deluxe version. It features a spoken word intro followed by the signature sounds of the album as Madonna questions changing relations with a lover. Finally we lose an initially unreleased track from the 80s, Ain't No Big Deal which eventually saw light as a B-Side during the True Blue era. It lacks the big catchy moments that many 80s Madonna songs have and is fairly forgettable particularly among the True Blue signature songs. Madonna: 8/8 Like A Virgin: 8/9 True Blue: 9/9 Like A Prayer: 10/11 Other (80s): 9/10 I'm Breathless: 10/12 Erotica: 13/14 Bedtime Stories: 11/11 Evita: 8/13 Ray of Light: 14/14 Other (90s): 12/12 Music: 13/13 American Life: 11/11 Confessions On A Dancefloor: 15/15 Hard Candy: 12/13 Other (00s): 4/5 MDNA: 12/16 Rebel Heart: 21/25 Madame X: 18/18 Other (10s): 2/3 80s: 44/47 90s: 68/76 00s: 56/57 10s: 52/62 |

I sort of enjoyed Bitch I'm Madonna at the time as an ironic sort of affair. It's fun, it's bold, but ultimately it has no value to me years on. It actually makes my skin crawl a fair bit listening to it now and I can't say I enjoy it much at all.
