Haha, thank you! biggrin.gif

I think Ella and Nicole are the most likely guests for the first week and I think we could see Taylor performing on October 26th (the day before the album) maybe?

Posted by: Aprilconda 1st September 2014, 09:41 PM

I agree that Ella and Nicole are most likely for week one. I think Demi & Cher could possibly because it seemed rather random that they pushed the single back to that week (although the same happened with Neon Lights / BGT, yet she didn't get a slot).

Posted by: mr_aly 1st September 2014, 09:42 PM

I think Kylie Minogue + Enrique could be a strong possibility at some point for 'Beautiful', I see no reason why else they'd bother releasing it on 24th November.

Posted by: Ryan. 1st September 2014, 09:43 PM

I thought Ariana was going to be a definite considering her impact date was October 20th (seeing as it was such a random date I thought) but now it's been pushed forward to the week before, I'm not so sure. Maybe they'll just have her on after her impact date.

I don't see why they bother at all

I can see 'Bang Bang' being pushed back possibly? And see the 3 of them doing a medley like the VMA's

Me neither, to be brutally honest. sleep.gif

Surely Jessie J is of the cards due to her association with The Voice UK?

I haven't heard the track, but it'd be nice for Simon to have Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd on performing their track together - he's strongly associated with both acts and could really do with promoting Cher Lloyd again over here.

Posted by: Therm• 2nd September 2014, 06:34 AM

she's not on The Voice anymore so I think she'd be allowed on. hell, they may even let will.i.am on as he's so popular and has been on many times before, on the condition that he doesn't mention The Voice of course.

Posted by: liamk97 2nd September 2014, 09:14 AM

I can definitely see Kylie performing on X Factor - her tpur returns to the UK for a few dates in November, which would give the chance to at least film a pre-recorded performance.

Posted by: GrAmii 2nd September 2014, 09:44 AM

I read an article that Cowrll wants Madonna, U2, Rihanna, One Direction, Take That and Adele as he is after the biggest stars etc etc. I will try to find it, but it's probably a load of tosh and dependent on whether they all release something.

Posted by: liamk97 2nd September 2014, 10:20 AM

One Direction is a given really, so is Rihanna and Take That if they're releasing new albums this year. You can tell he's trying everything he can to get the ratings up if he's wanting Madonna, U2 and Adele on the show, but it would be incredible to see all of them performing! Would make a perfect line-up for the final.

Posted by: Aprilconda 2nd September 2014, 08:39 PM

If Adele releases her album this year, I'm 100% certain she'll be performing on X Factor. She's always said she loves watching the show and Simon will be wanting to pull out all the stops to beat Strictly Come Dancing.

Posted by: Martyn 2nd September 2014, 08:50 PM

With Hilary Duff performing on X Factor Australia next week I wouldn't be surprised to see her show up on X Factor UK this year as well.

Posted by: mr_aly 2nd September 2014, 08:59 PM

I'd be flabbergasted if Hilary Duff performed on UK X-Factor. laugh.gif

Posted by: Rabbit Heart 3rd September 2014, 07:22 AM

Sam Smith will definitely be performing.

Posted by: André 3rd September 2014, 07:42 AM

Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, One Direction and Take That are obviously performing at some point. Demi Lovato with Cher Lloyd and Ariana Grande are strong possibilities.

Posted by: LeeWallace 3rd September 2014, 11:27 AM

Ariana Grande is coming to the UK in October.

Never in a million years.

5 Seconds of Summer I'd imagine are a cert. Iggy Azalea if she pushes a new single before Christmas...

Maybe Madonna, dependent upon what her comeback single is like and whether the lazy bitch can be arsed.

Posted by: LeeWallace 3rd September 2014, 11:44 AM

Could this be the first year that an X-Factor winner will not be performing on the live shows? I doubt Sam Bailey will perform.

Posted by: *Tim 3rd September 2014, 11:47 AM

Maybe they'll get her on to perform so they can promote her tour?

I still think she might have a Christmas re-release maybe, depends if she's been recording as she's still pregnant (though must be due round about now?).

----

I hope Demi gets a slot with Really Don't Care <3 Madonna (if she releases this year) and Adele would be fab too, I can see them being plausible as Simon will want this new series to be huge given the fact that him and Cheryl have both returned.

Posted by: Noahspike 3rd September 2014, 12:11 PM

I'm intrigued to see whether or not Adele will perform.

I think it'll be entirely up to her as her label seems to trust her instincts and allows her to veto a lot of promotional opportunities. I know she is a fan of the show, which might make a difference, but from what she's said in the past, the overexposure of her music concerns her and she likes to lay low while her singles are being hammered on radio (rather than take the Emeli approach). This is all assuming radio/the media will be fully on board with the lead single, of course, which I think is a fair enough assumption! I'd say overall, she's likely to do it as it'll coincide with the album's launch and she's been away for so long.

Posted by: R.o.b. 3rd September 2014, 12:42 PM

I can see OneRepublic performing too. Cowell's a huge fan of Ryan Tedder as a songwriter and they have had a huge resurgence in the UK the past year and a bit so I would say they'd be a good shout & Maroon 5 possibly too.

Posted by: jay727 3rd September 2014, 06:20 PM

Take That have already been confirmed to be performing the last week of November and have been booked for the final

Ffs.

I think Sam Bailey will definitely perform at some point. They wouldn't just ignore their reigning champion. She may not release another single/album but she might record a Christmas EP or something. Similar to how Leona stuck out an EP in 2011 just for the lolz (and she performed 'Hurt' to promote it).

Would love Sam Smith to perform Nirvana as I think the album will be rerelease with it!

Posted by: Sheikh Abdul 5th September 2014, 01:17 AM

Cheryl Cole will obviously perform on the day that her next single gets released, the new song (whatever it is) will already be #1 on iTunes before she performs then the lead will get bigger after the performance. Yawn zzz.gif

Rumour has it (haha hehe haha ho) that the next single is going to be 'I Lived' (not sure how true it is as I found it on wikipedia, which sourced it from this: http://playiga.com/track/onerepublic-i-lived-2/ ). It was going to be the next single, after 'Counting Stars', but they dropped it in favour of 'Love Runs Out'.

IF it is indeed 'I Lived' then I'm slightly disappointed. As much as I do like 'I Lived', I wanted 'Life In Color' as it is probably the biggest smash left on the album, imo. Ridiculously anthemic!

Sam stated in an interview that they wouldn't be re-releasing the album, as he believes the next material released should be for an entirely new album. "Nirvanna" too is out of the question as it doesn't feature on the album that the label would be wanting to push, sadly.

I think Sam will definitely have a slot on the show though, Simon would be a fool not to let him.

It will be interesting to see if OneRepublic, The Script and/or Maroon 5 perform on the show, I think all three should really. Maroon 5's next single is "Animals" supposedly though, which is great but is all about hunting down a woman, ha.

Wasn't "Something I Need" supposed to be the follow-up to "Counting Stars" ? .. or rather, to the re-release of "If I Lose Myself"

Posted by: Dobbo 5th September 2014, 05:13 PM

Something I Need should have been, by far the best song on Native.

Why would Nirvana not fit - I just have my Nirvana glasses on now because it's by far his best song IMO!

At any rate he needs new artists on each yr or it becomes a borefest of Take That, Michael Buble & Rihanan each series!

First post updated. I imagine some of the artists I've listed for week one will in fact appear later in the series.

Has she even got her £1 million prize yet? they showed her house on Through The Keyhole and it looked like a house that someone from a normal background would be living in.

Tomaytoes, Tomatoes............

Bottom line is the money doesn't seem to be flowing for her.

Posted by: The Hit Parade 30th September 2014, 08:02 PM

No, because a "record contract worth £1m" means a total investment of that much, including all the money they spend on recording costs, marketing etc. And in some cases when figures are bandied about it's a *possible* figure (eg, if it's a five-album deal and she lasts for all five albums without getting dropped, that's how much they'd spend). What it certainly doesn't mean is a million quid in her bank account.

Of course, figures talked about for record deals are mostly lies anyway, since it's in the interests of both parties to exaggerate the figure.

How likely is it that Nicole Scherzinger gets to perform On The Rocks?

Surely Simon owes her a spot? She was great in her 2 year run.

Posted by: Only Human 30th September 2014, 09:55 PM

I could see it being very awkward between Cheryl and Nicole if Nicole were to perform.. They're not exactly best mates laugh.gif

Posted by: April 30th September 2014, 10:01 PM

I don't think Nicole is 'owed' anything by Simon.

Cheryl had to sit on watch Nicole perform "Poison" in 2010, but I guess the whole US X Factor thing has happened since then.

Posted by: MC Delroy 1st October 2014, 01:49 PM

A Cheryl Cole performance on the 9th of November is 100% certain to happen.

Posted by: Jonjo 1st October 2014, 01:57 PM

Pharrell Williams is on the first show apparently. He's got nothing to promote has he? So I can see him performing 'Happy'/'Gust Of Wind' (if that is his next single) medley.

Posted by: The Days 1st October 2014, 04:13 PM

He'll definitely perform 'Happy', probably as a stand-alone performance as Come Get It Bae was a big flop so he probably won't bother with another single.

Coming for that consecutive year in the top 40 biggrin.gif

That would be quite something but I feel the reign may come to an end next week. He'll be on the cusp this week and there'll be another wave of new entries week after.

Hopefully they'll save One Direction's performance for their album release so Ella can have a performance on the first live show with Pharrell.

Remember it wouldn't be X Factor without One Direction making 3+ appearances so I expect

1. Perform Single
2. Promote Album
3. Random interview before ad break for no reason
4. Performance in the final just for the sake of it
(5.) if Zayn and Perry get married before X Factor finishes, they will be there to talk about the wedding and how the show brought them together laugh.gif

Looking at the 19th October.

Noone with a single or album out on the 20th is X-Factor friendly/worthy apart from Nicole Scherzinger.

So hopefully they give her that spot. Her last album did solid w/ a release in March then deluxe for christmas.

At that point she'd only been a guest judge. Now after 1 year on US X Factor and 2 years on UK X Factor, surely she's likely to get a chance.

She could do Bang Bang, is Ariana not in the UK? She will most likely do her verse of Bang Bang and go into a mash up with Burnin Up being the main song

Posted by: April 12th October 2014, 08:21 PM

I think maybe a mash-up of the majority of Burnin' Up and a snippet of Bang Bang would be best to sell both singles and the album.

Just estimations based on the new release schedule. In reality, this series they seem to be having acts on at random times, unlike previous years.

Yeah. It wouldn't surprise me. They usually pick one of the big stars from earlier in the series to return. Last year was Katy Perry and 2012 was Rihanna.

Ed on iTunes:

35 Don't
37 Sing

3, 8 x
38, 130 +

If someone wants to do a OneRepublic update, go ahead.

Posted by: MrIndependent 26th October 2014, 08:22 PM

Native is currently at 32 on iTunes. Their performance was very good; I forgot how much I liked OneRepublic back in their Dreaming Out Loud days.

Posted by: Rob S 26th October 2014, 08:31 PM

Both performances were brilliant so I'd expect a big surge for OneRep & I definitely think TOY will be boosted to #1 after that performance.

I'm sure you're right but I'm sure I've read on here before about a performer on X Factor doing an old song but then again Pharrell didn't sing Happy when he was on so hopefully he won't but I still think AOM will still get a boost despite it!

Posted by: Dobbo 26th October 2014, 09:24 PM

I really hope he sings All Of Me, just funny the song being effectively reserved for the top 40 forever. Plus, it's not like he has much hope of another song charting. Look at Pharrell, where is Gust Of Wind at for instance?

Posted by: MrIndependent 26th October 2014, 09:33 PM

Ed's album is back up to #1. TOL has moved to 2 & 48 so far but LivePopBars hasn't updated so I don't know how much it's gained percentage-wise. Don't & Sing have both climbed as well.

OneRepublic up 32-5 with Native and at 39 with I Lived.

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 26th October 2014, 10:19 PM

John Legend is releasing a deluxe version of Love In The Future on 3rd November so it would make sense for him to sing All Of Me to push the album

There's nobody releasing though is there? Beyonce, Rihanna, GaGa and Katy - none of them releasing. So we're kind of left with the scraps. Taylor is obviously the head bitch in charge for Autumn/Winter 2014.

There seems to be a total whiteout of interest when it comes I Don't Care. But if anyone can click a hit out of anyhwere, it's good old Chezza.

It would be the moment of the year if Ed just kept increasing next week and got 2 weeks at the top before the John lewis Ad came in for a few weeks in november. But ultimately Cheryls held back nature will beat Eds consistent selling future million seller. Then obv TOL will stay in the top 3 or maybe return to No1 in the weeks after that.

As for peoples overall view of the guests this year so far wouldnt it be great if next week we had alt artists like say Hozier and Rae Morris - their star would become massive after that!!

This exactly, it will actually be really interesting to see how the song does, given that hardly anyone has heard of them... I listened to it today and it's catchy enough, I don't see any reason why it couldn't go at least Top 20 off the back of an X Factor performance.

Hahaha, that is such an awful line-up for the semi - why was Sam Bailey not on today though? Her album is re-released tomorrow so that would have made sense surely. Would have swapped her and Ella as the timing of Ella's performance wasn't particularly important since the song doesn't seem to have an EP or anything coming out.

Ugh at Idina getting a performance but as it's obviously going to be the Bublé track we should hopefully be free of a 'Let It Go' performance. Unless she does a medley a la John Legend (I dread to think). 'Let It Go' will undoubtedly get yet another boost from the performance regardless though sad.gif

Perhaps they reckon Sam's album will get a boost because of the re-release this week and get a subsequent boost the following week from X Factor? I agree that it would be better if Sam and Ella swapped anyway - Ella would be make the semi-final line-up a little more impressive.

Fifth Harmony - Sledgehammer [CONFIRMED]

Why are they performing 'Sledgehammer' if Bo$$ is the single?

Presumably any sales of the 2-track single will go to 'Bo$$', and at 99p for both, that is going to happen, as what is the point in buying 'Sledgehammer' on its own if you get 'Bo$$' for free when you buy the complete single.

Weird.

Posted by: TheGrinch 7th December 2014, 12:41 AM

They'll be performing Boss, heat radio station has been playing Sledgehammer which makes the situation even weirder.

Posted by: Ryan. 7th December 2014, 12:43 AM

The Hits Radio has been playing 'Bo$$' though and them and Heat are the only two stations to have played any Fifth Harmony songs so far.

Posted by: SLlewellyn 7th December 2014, 07:53 AM

So who do people reckon will be performing in the final? We have Tulisa, Taylor Swift ("Blank Space") and Ariana Grande left as possibilities, but surely Tulisa on the final is the least impressive act they can get? Weren't there rumours of Rihanna making a big debut on the show?

Posted by: -SCOTT- 7th December 2014, 07:58 AM

One Direction obviously!

Posted by: MrIndependent 7th December 2014, 06:39 PM

One Direction are pretty much a shoe-in for the final. They should have Ed and Sam on purely for the fact that they are the year's two biggest sellers and it would be foolish not to have them on. I'd like to see George Ezra perform but I doubt he would. Taylor would add more variety to the above list and is the largest female artist in the world at the minute; I think she's a strong possibility, and speaking of other successful female artists this year Paloma Faith would be nice.

Not here for silly, wasted slots with the likes of girl groups that the general public have never heard of or some washed up has-been.

I thought chances would be slim for Taylor Swift cause she has some gigs on the weekend in NYC but her fansites are saying she'll be in London on Sunday for the final.

What will Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith be singing then if they've already performed 'Thinking Out Loud' and 'Like I Can'? Whatever it is, their albums will probably sell another 100k+ each!

Meghan to perform 'Lips Are Movin'' I presume - I expected this to perform quite badly but an X Factor performance may help it to do otherwise.

I would assume 3 of those are the celebrity duets (Ed/Sam/Meghan most likely). Unless one or more of them perform something else as well that only leaves 2 'proper' performances which seems a little bit light for an XF final unsure.gif There were 5 on last year's final.

Yeah 'Lips Are Movin' will be pretty big regardless of if it's performed on XF or not (I don't think it will be, too early for that surely). It's doing really well in the USA so far and it's off to a good start on UK Spotify.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sam and Ed were just duet parents, they have both recently performed their current singles. Meghan I can see doing both Lips Are Movin' as well as AATB with Fleur. Then it'll be Olly and Demi with Up.

Posted by: Shelter 7th December 2014, 09:21 PM

I guess the duets will be

Sam Smith & Andrea - Stay With Me
Ed Sheeran & Ben - Thinking Out Loud/A Team
Megan & Fleur - All About That Bass

Posted by: SLlewellyn 7th December 2014, 09:48 PM

If it's "Stay with Me", "Thinking Out Loud" and "All About That Bass" I might die - three of the most irritating songs of the year! That Ben and Fleur have already performed the latter two is quite annoying actually, I'd much rather see anything else from Sheeran's discography be performed - but it's not looking likely.

"Up" looking to score Murs another T10 hit then, and I'm sure "Wrapped Up" will be in the T10 a little longer too!

Posted by: steve201 7th December 2014, 09:54 PM

So it should be between Olly, Ed & Sam Smith for the Xmas No1 album then. Also can't count out Take That I suppose. Ed should pull through with so many hits this year for people to buy the album as pressies. But Olly also has an Xmas special that week so he could be the outside bet. I'd imagine it being Xmas week Ed could break 200k? Hope Sam Smith breaks a million sales by the end of the year!

She just screams one hit wonder (or one-big-hit-followed-by-an-underperforming-song-wonder) to me. I kind of felt 'All About That Bass' relied on its message (obviously it's very catchy too but I don't think it would have been as big if it wasn't for the message) and so the public wouldn't support 'Lips Are Moving' as much. Plus to me 'Lips Are Moving' sounds like a weaker version to 'All About That Bass' and this formula I don't think has worked well for other new artists.

Each to their own, but it's doing so well on Spotify and pre-orders this early, and the fact it's blown up in Australia and the US really manifest that this is going to be her 'Hot N Cold'. She's being championed by LA Reid and her label have done an exceptional job with her promotion, not only worldwide but now in the UK - as well - getting an X Factor Final slot out of nowhere with only one hit to her name speaks for itself. Her team are really gunning for her and investing in her to be the next big type pop female artist

I suppose you're right that everything is pointing to her getting another big hit with this! I don't have anything substantial to back myself up with other than assumptions based on similar past situations. Another thing that made me doubtful though was that I didn't think people particularly liked Meghan. A lot have criticised her for "skinny shaming" in her lyrics and the whole "I tried to go anorexic" thing didn't go down a treat, and those who weren't phased by this I didn't think would have bothered supporting her further. But then the facts you've supplied seems to suggest that this isn't really a problem.

Still, I'm doubtful she'll receive the same amount of success as she did with 'All About That Bass' and definitely not anything as iconic.

Posted by: Michael Bubré 7th December 2014, 10:29 PM

I don't think Meghan will be as big as Katy in the long run but it's definitely silly to write her off as a one hit wonder, 'Lips Are Movin' is already a guaranteed second hit and 'Title'/'Dear Future Husband' have made a bit of a splash as well despite not being proper singles. Sure 'All About That Bass' sold a bit on its gimmick but it was also a very wide appealing (Radio 1 / Radio 2 / Capital / Heart all played it) and GOOD pop song. Can definitely see her being big for a while.

To be honest, The XF final last year did hardly anything for the performers, Katy Perry didn't even move and 1D and Gary feat Elton didnt do much on the charts either after. I imagine there is just too much going on over the weekend

Ohh that definitely makes more sense. I'm sure 1D wouldn't be stupid enough to do Where Do Broken Hearts Go though... laugh.gif

So we have not 4 but 5 recycled acts for the final, brilliant laugh.gif Could they really not muster up a couple of new people beyond Meghan? I guess Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith are pretty much the 2 biggest acts of the year to be fair and obviously 1D and Olly are huge too (but a bit CLICHÉ for an XF final by this stage), it just seems extremely anticlimactic for the grand finale to be a bunch of people who had already been on the show just a few weeks earlier

That final line-up is looking fairly uneventful tbh.

I'm presuming there'll be three extra guests on Saturday to perform the celebrity duets. I guess Ed could duet with Ben and Meghan with Fleur (but DS suggests she'll perform All About That Bass alone, so I don't think she'll duet with Fleur).

Yeah I'm thinking that, hopefully they've blown the budget on at least Nicki or Rihanna for Fleur and that's why they had to mostly recycle the usual friends of X Factor laugh.gif

But they could still be the duet partners, they just might perform a song that isn't theirs? But I don't think that really ever happens apart from the judges duets.

Unless Mel B is performing with Andrea, that is a performance I love to watch. laugh.gif an opera version of "Wannabe" heehee.gif

Usually some mentors perform with their own acts, but in Simon's case he would have to get someone in to perform with Ben & Fleur. Or we are in for a surprise Madonna performing with Fleur ohmy.gif

Posted by: sammy01 11th December 2014, 05:29 PM

With the way the show has been pushing Fleur this year I wouldn't be surprised if Fleur gets Madonna, Mariah and Rihanna as her 3 backing singers, Whilst Ben gets the Cheeky girls and Andrea gets The Tweenies.

Surely there are more artists than the same few recycled on every show. No wonder the album chart is so predictable at this time of year.

Oh lord I hope Digital Spy I are lying, Meghan simply can't ONLY do AATB when Lips Are Movin is the next single/needs the recognition more

Andrea/Tweenies would be the best performance of the series tho

It should be:

Taylor Swift - Blank Space
Tulisa - Living Without You
Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin'
Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - Up
One Direction - Night Changes
Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk

I don't even like all those songs but that line-up would make far more sense & be far more relevant than what we've got. Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith et al need to f- off.

Posted by: MrIndependent 13th December 2014, 02:59 AM

Tulisa is not relevant, and what a surprise for you to belittle Sam and Ed. sleep.gif

The final performances are apparently as follows:

SATURDAY
Group performance: Take That - Rule the World
Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
Ed Sheeran - Photograph

SUNDAY
Sam Smith - Stay With Me
One Direction - Where Do Broken Hearts Go? - This isn't as stupid as people are making out tbh; Night Changes is already top ten and WDBHG? is a real crowd pleaser and will sound AMAZING in an arena.
Olly/Demi - Up

Posted by: liamk97 13th December 2014, 12:23 PM

Tulisa's going to be on the show but she's not performing - she's taking Mel B's mentoring place as Mel's too ill to appear!

To be honest I don't know why they didn't use Louis or Cheryl to fill in as they don't have any acts in the final. Seems pointless bringing in a late judge into the final.

I wasn't belittling them I was merely implying that they've been far too overexposed as it is this year and have already had slots on the show. Own X Factor alumni I can understand being brought back for the final but not anyone else. Also artists who have new material to promote should always be given preference in my mind (than say someone performing a 6 month old song). At least Ed is performing a yet-to-be-single from his album so fair play for that but Sam? Seriously... manson.gif

Posted by: girl_from_oz 13th December 2014, 12:52 PM

Still have no idea who the celeb duets are going to be, radio times app said Madonna was rumored for the show but that's the first I heard about it

Posted by: MrIndependent 13th December 2014, 02:14 PM

Ed has announced Bloodstream as the fourth single from Multiply -- maybe he'll change his performance to that at last minute? It would be much more fitting for the arena setting and it's a more interesting song as well tbh.

Posted by: Santa Martin 13th December 2014, 03:50 PM

According to twitter Ed is performing Photograph tonight
