Major Lazer only 19, why can’t they translate their popularity into album sales? Weird. |

QUOTE Mint Royale @MintRoyale · 58s 59 seconds ago Natalie #1 missing data from somewhere surelySingles are dull, big jump from 63 to 1 for Natalie La Rose though. Lawson at 3. I thought they’d given up. QUOTE Mint Royale @MintRoyale · 43s 43 seconds ago DJ SKT FT RAE at 11. That’s just a bunch of random letters isn’t it. QUOTE Mint Royale @MintRoyale · 2m 2 minutes ago Jessie J somehow hanging around with Flashlight at 12 despite there being no flashlights in the UK where we use TORCHES. QUOTE Mint Royale @MintRoyale · 3m 3 minutes ago
Billy Joel is at 53 because his song was used on BGT. What an embarrassing way to sell records. |

I'm wondering if Lawson being at number three does suggest that some Spotify data is missing? I don't begrudge Lawson their place but I was convinced streaming would push it down a bit?

@GrechMartin Natalie La Rose is 9 weeks in and has already built up solid streaming figures though, plus sold 9k more downloads than Derulo |

I wonder if Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard's album will chart, also it's amazed me how The Darkness have somehow remained to be popular on the album charts, their last album also made the top 10 I believe

Is it really a shock that Natalie's ahead on today's update? She's had months of pre-orders to boost her ahead of Jason (and bear in mind iTunes doesn't add on the pre-orders to the feed upon release now). She probably won't hold on but I expected her there today at least.

Yeah, it's the same as when Carly was number 1 in her midweeks, not a shock at all. Pre-orders often get songs to number 1 in the first few midweeks, even when they're lagging behind the #1 on iTunes/Streaming.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that pre-order thing, Jason is bound to catch up in the end, his stream sales will be stronger than last week.

Great to see Natalie at #1. A shame that it won't stay there, but it should be safe for #2? I hope so anyway!

The Darkness will be a fluke top 10, like their last album it will likely leave the top 100 within a month. Poor Will, but as many have said it is no shock. I am not a big fan of any of the artists with new albums this week, is Simply Red a new studio album or some re-hash of old material?

Lawson have just been added to the 'Future Hits' playlist on Spotify so they'll probably start to pick up a bit on streaming in the next couple of days. I don't anticipate they'll stay top 3 but again, as have said elsewhere I'd like to be proved wrong. I'm just glad it's top 10 at all at this stage.

Has Will fallen to #7?
I expect Natalie should be comfortably #2, and I can't imagine Lawson will drop out of the top 10 from #3. |
