I've realised I missed out a position in the chart run for 'Madame X' - it spent a week at #148 before falling out of the chart. I guess 7 weeks is better than 6 weeks. laugh.gif

The album appeared in the midweeks in its eighth week but unfortunately couldn't hold onto an official placing (it was #162 with 653 copies on the Thursday update, having sold 130 copies on Wednesday). I reckon it only just missed out on the Top 200 (I don't know what the #200 sold that week, but it sold 763 copies the week after). On the sales-only chart, it was #43 (a non-mover from the week previously).

It then just snuck in at #196 on the next Monday update, but fell out by the next day. It #55 on the sales-only chart that week.

It re-appeared at #196 again on the midweeks of Tuesday 29th October (didn't get the full Top 200 update on the Monday) which I think was due to a limited vinyl release or something. It was #77 on the sales-only chart that week.

Official
NE: 2-14-21-46-43-106-148 (first entry: 27/06/19) 7w

Sales
NE: 2-9-10-17-16-31-43-43-55-82-62-86-83 (first entry: 27/06/19) 13w
RE: 86-77 (second entry: 31/10/19) 2w
Total: 15w

It had sold about 42k by mid-August and I estimate its total to have been nearly 50k by the end of 2019.

Thanks for the estimate! I think I’ve been over-estimating it’s weekly sales, gonna take longer to get that certification than I’d been hoping. Oh well, before the end of the decade definitely tongue.gif

Oh and that re-entry in October would’ve been when HMV sold the vinyl for half price I’m sure, that’s when I bought it

'The Immaculate Collection' fell out of the Top 200 two weeks ago after 35 consecutive weeks. Its total currently stands at 763 weeks. I'm sure it'll be back in by January.

Madonna has only 2 hits that peaked at number 11 in the UK.

One More Chance and Love Profusion

I am not a huge fan of either track but was wondering if they were close to making the top 10?

'Love Profusion' was 2k behind #10, not sure about 'One More Chance' but I think it could have been a similar gap.

QUOTE(Liam.k. @ May 21 2020, 06:32 PM) *
An update, based on the yearly averages given last August:

01 1,018,000 Into the Groove
02 962,000 Like a Virgin
03 950,000 Holiday
04 909,000 Like a Prayer
05 815,000 Crazy for You
06 773,000 Hung Up
07 748,000 Papa Don't Preach
08 695,000 Vogue
09 669,000 4 Minutes
10 641,000 True Blue

11 621,000 Frozen
12 582,000 La Isla Bonita
13 562,000 Beautiful Stranger
14 537,000 Material Girl
15 463,000 Music
16 419,000 American Pie
17 418,000 Who's That Girl?
18 391,000 Borderline
19 386,000 Don't Cry For Me Argentina
20 352,000 Ray of Light

Finally Madonna has a million 'seller'! She's on track to have four of them by Autumn 2021 ('Like a Virgin' is about 10 months away, 15 months for 'Holiday' and 16 months for 'Like a Prayer').

Madonna's sales always shock me I mean she has more career defining songs than any other female artist in history you would have thought Like a prayer, Vogue, Hung up, Frozen, Into the groove and Papa don't preach were million sellers back in the day... When you look at how many million sellers Rihanna achieved for example in contrast!?!?

The 'Frozen' remix EP charts on the album download chart, debuting at #50. Not sure how many sales that is, might be over 100?

'The Immaculate Collection' also re-enters at #97.
