New 8-part-series hits Netflix tomorrow (15th March) which promises to shed new light on the case. Kate and Gerry did not want to be involved.

Will be watching it all over the weekend. Extremely intrigued to see how this goes!

100% watching this.

Such a fascinating and heartbreaking case. The most famous unsolved case of our generation, easily.

Richard D. Hall has some compelling theories on this case. His videos are long but they're definitely worth watching!

Absolutely going to attempt to watch some of this over the weekend. 8 Episodes at almost an hour each is a little long.
Truth be told there is very little coverage in Canada on this. I haven't heard anything in ages. Here it's all about Jon Benet.

One episode in and very all over the place. I'm sure it's all relevant, but I don't know much about the case.
Not overly captivating or interesting, so far at least.
This is my first Netflix Documentary. But I do watch a lot of Dateline/2020/48 Hours, nothing even close to those.

I honestly find the fascination about these true life crime things so boring, we rarely learn new information and it's always left open. The only one I've seen thats entertained me is 'Abducted In Plain Sight' just because of how ABSURD it was. A shame Netflix is pushing them so much, I would much prefer new original scripted shows sad.gif.

this was kinda long but I did manage to finish it, I had no idea it had such bad reviews? I keep seeing it being pegged as controversial which i dont quite get either

tbh I went into this like most people thinking the McCanns were guilty but actually I think its more likely she was abducted and trafficked. There was a lot of info on this that I'd forgotten about tbh so it was quite nice to have such an open and messy case packed up into a docuseries. like clearly the appartment was being watched and the McCanns routine recorded and by a group of people, the sightings of shady men and fake charity fundraisers was what converted me I think, as well as the DNA the blood dogs picked up being useless. i do hope shes still out there and has been living a half decent life just being oblivious to the fact shes madeline mccann bc she could very well have been sold to a wealthy couple who cant have kids and didn't want to go through a long adoption progress so thought they'd go against the law for whatever reason I suppose. I think that's what people want to believe as the alternatives are horrific.

I still don't like the mccanns tho and they should still be charged with neglect. they do come off awfully cold and robotic still (Gerry mostly) and I don't buy the excuse that they were told to present as that because that's the sort of situation where you can't control your emotions etc

I haven't seen this yet, but I think it's very naive to think Madeleine is still alive or that she was abducted. Obviously that's what the mainstream media want you to believe of course.

How so? I think it's very likely she was abducted, all the evidence points to that fact. The problem with the initial case was the Tapas Seven had some obvious guilt and the case was just poorly policed in general. Kate and Gerry McCann were probably badly advised to keep up a massive media profile with a ridiculous amount of PR which led the public and the media turn against them, as well as the Portugease police.

Watch Richard D. Hall's videos on YouTube. Your views on the "abducted" theory might change somewhat.

I don't buy that theory at all, there's way too much evidence to the contary from non-biased witnessess too. There's a reason Scotland Yard have never pressed any charges against them both - that theory just sums up the shoddy police work at the time because all the other logical theories went cold because of the slow reaction.

How do you explain the dogs then? I've followed this case right from Day One. Used to post on the Mirror and Sun forums but got banned and then I think they closed down. Discussion isn't allowed on DS as there are always too many arguments. The only mystery is how they disposed of her body.
