I wasn't sure if Radio 1 would playlist Chemical Brothers, but I'm glad they did, it's their most accessible song since "Do It Again", and I hope it goes top 40 now. They must be the oldest act on the playlist for some time, both Chems and Q-Tip must surely be in their 40s by now.

*edit* scratch that, I see Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder's on there as well. And of course, Paul McCartney from a few weeks ago.

Once again it's a shame UK radio penalise those who go for an On Air/On Sale release. I'm sure Selena would've been playlisted had she been held back, and she may still be in a couple of weeks - but it'll be too late.

Hopefully 'Black Magic' has the #1 sewn up now with Avicii stalling on the C-list.

Once again, I'm shocked that Radio 1 still see Snoop Dogg as a relevant artist.

Awesome climbers happy.gif esp. Y&Y, Disclosure\Porter, 5th Harmony! dance.gif
Newman's coming was just a matter of time. Don't think Chemical Bros will roll.

4 additions? Why can't they add more than that?! (Before someone says it, I know last week was a completely new C-List).

They should've added Selena tbh. Radio 1 seriously don't know how to handle OA/OS releases

I think it's because Selena Gomez has pretty much zero demand in the UK. “The Heart Wants What It Wants” went 30-65-OUT, hardly the sign of a burgeoning chart career.

It's not like The Heart Wants What It Wants was playlisted, yet managed do chart at #30 after all the initial hype died down.
There is demand for Selena, the GP just don't know she has a new song out if she's not being played by radio

Regarding Good For You, it has been getting great reviews from the e-web and is totally in yhe style of what is becoming hot right now, so there really is no reason why they wouldn't playlist it

Love the new Foals / John Newman / The Chemical Brothers tracks so fabulous to see them added wub.gif (especially as the latter is an act you'd have thought R1 would stop supporting by now). Yay for Disclosure and Fifth Harmony climbing as well.

That is surely a counter-productive way of looking at it? The song is currently dominating the US and places where she actually gets support, so for her to build demand here she'd need radios to support her in the first place..

The song is looking to be a gigantic worldwide hit if people get a chance to hear it, so hopefully they get on board with it soon (which i am sure they will given its performance overseas).

Besides, The Heart Wants What It Wants had no major radio support so it was destined to underperform. I think it actually did quite well considering. Come & Get It had Radio 1 and probably Capital on board to make that a hit. Besides, the new song is top 20 on iTunes right now showing that there IS demand for Selena and Radio 1 should really be realising this, but they aren't so it's why we're failing to adapt to OA/OS in the UK.

It only takes around 1,500 sales/day to make the UK Top 20 on iTunes, hardly signs of 'demand' just a predictably quick rise and equally fast fall that is dictated by obsessive fan base purchases. I remain to be convinced of Selena becoming a big chart star outside of the US in spite of all the money that Disney have put behind her.
