Intrigued about the Loreen song, surely she'd walk it if it's even half as good as Euphoria, would the public really pass up the chance. Also excited for Lisa Ajax given she has almost the same writing team as Loreen! Looks to be a fantastic year to have (rehearsal) tickets.

Statements bloody better be one too.

I don't see why she'd turn up with something underwhelming though, if it was guaranteed not to at least have a chance of replicating Euphoria's success then why would she bother?

It does seem like a curious career move only five years later though (also, where did the last five years go?).

Apparently she's looking to go for a 1944 part 2 effect.

I love the song title Running With Lions for Alice Svensson. Judging by Anderz Wrethov being on the credits I think we may be in for a cultural appropriation festival that makes SaraHa look RESERVED *.*

Not at all surprised by that, though with the Debs behind it I imagine it will have more commercial appeal.

It's either going to be a masterpiece or it's going to be a 'Youniverse' style first draft posing as the final product of unrealised potential (hopefully the former since The Debs are involved).

I really thought she'd be the type of winner to try and distance herself from the contest, I'm so pleased this hasn't proved to be the case but she's got a huge weight of expectation on her with this. I think if it's anything less than a win she might struggle to recover her career (not that it's really going anywhere drama.gif) and be consigned to Euro legacy act, wheeled out every May for one purpose only.

I imagine she's been chained to the studio door and done this on pain of getting dropped, to be honest.

Wow, what a strong line up! Was definitely not expecting Loreen to return but watching this over the past few years has taught me to never assume, Saade being one case and the sudden support of an underdog in Frans showing that all it takes is a fantastic song that really captures Sweden's attention.

Expecting some Zara Larsson part II track from Lisa with that title which is exciting, obviously VERY excited for Ace and Dinah in one contest and one semi, someone hold me <3

QUOTE
She’s the Melodifestivalen legend who was expecting a place in Melfest 2017 after being disqualified from the competition earlier this year. But when the 2017 line-up was announced on Wednesday, Anna Book‘s name was not on the list. And she’s spoken out, saying she’s extremely upset at missing out.

At Melodifestivalen 2016, Anna Book’s entry “Himmel för två” was dramatically disqualified. Eurovision fans identified the song as having been based on Felicia Dunaf’s entry in the 2014 Moldovan national final. However, Anna Book was still able to perform the song out of competition at her Melfest semi-final.

SVT reportedly said that Anna would be welcome back at Melodifestivalen 2017, and prolific Melfest songwriter Fredrik Kempe offered to write her an entry. But as Anna told Expressen in October, she was still waiting to hear from both SVT and Kempe.

In a recent interview with Aftonbladet, a tearful Anna revealed that the Melfest team had not approached her regarding 2017. She said she felt betrayed by the Melfest team, especially boss Christer Björkman and project manager Anette Helenius.

Anna told the newspaper, “I’m incredibly disappointed that it is so easy for them to get out of a lot of promises and statements about “this will not happen” and “we will compensate for this”, but you hear nothing.”

Anna says she asked her manager to contact SVT to ask what was happening but did not receive a response.

However, SVT says they have not heard anything from Anna Book. An SVT representative stated: “We have not received any request about Anna Book’s participation in Melodifestivalen 2017 and we have not promised her a place in Melodifestivalen.”

Prolific Melodifestivalen songwriter Fredrik Kempe has been busy this year as a judge on Swedish Idol. He does not have any songs in Melodifestivalen 2017, his first time away from the competition in 11 years.

It does not appear that Anna Book made any effort to organise a song as her potential Melfest entry.
