Danaelandan Civil Unrest

Tensions have been rising in Danaelanda as the parliament are debating whether to invade Mezidinia, one of our border nations, to expand the Empire of Danaelanda.

The Danaelandan Independence Party, led by Joris Bonson state that we should free ourselves from the Twikande Union, who we send §100m a week to and are forcing us to accept 100,000 Mezidinian migrants. The country of Mezidinia, who have been in a state of economic trouble for a while - not even having enough money to remain in the Buzzjack Song Contest, have many of their citizens seeking a better life in economically thriving border countries such as Ramrynia, (TARO) Bellamia, Aquafina and ourselves.

Barraco Barner of The Orange Party, who speaks for President Sir Tim Bergling says "it would be a real shame for our country if we were to take advantage of Mezidinia's situation and invade them. surely we are better than this?". Many progressive forward-thinking people agree with him and welcome the Mezidinians into our great lands. Meanwhile DIP activists have been rioting and looting. We can only hope that this doesn't lead to another civil war, after the Great Civil War of 1964 over the decision to put a 20% tax on the purchase of televisions which left thousands dead.

In other news, "if Barraco Barner is our president why is he getting involved with Persephonia, scary" was the reaction of one tweeter after the decision to increase imports of Bre cheese from the nation by 20%. The cheese is known to be the finest in the world although it is a controversial topic in Danaelanda as many are against shops selling more imported cheese than locally grown cheese, citing the environmental issue of many food miles going to sell Bre cheese in our country.

The nation is divided between wanting to take part in bjsc and sitting out. That's why we participate rarely these days. Even though the pro-bjsc party is in power, the opposition is too strong and is likely to win at the next election.

We are also having a referendum on weather to stay in the bjsc Union or not in September.

Persephonia's President Izzy Azergla has announced her shock resignation, following the realisation that her name is an overdone meme. A snap election has been held and the ruling Carellisienne People's Congress (CAPECO) party has maintained its control of the country winning 87% of the vote. The former deputy leader of CAPECO, Lillian T. Chombo, has thus assumed party leadership and the presidency, becoming both Persephonia's second female leader and its second leader whose name is an overdone meme.

Following her sweeping victory, Ms. Chombo was quoted as saying "this Saturday shall be a Saturday to remember... an L. Chombo Saturday if you will!"

Ms. Chombo's first order of business is overhauling the Persephonian national thread again. Watch out for our new thread dropping shortly ~
