BuzzJack Music Forum _ Dance _ Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne - Real Love

Posted by: lewistgreen 28th September 2014, 10:27 AM

The next single from Clean Bandit, a collaboration with Jess Glynne, called 'Real Love'. This is the first single from the repackaged edition of their debut album, 'New Eyes'.

That's exciting cant wait to hear this! Must be an album rerelease coming up from them!

Once I've heard this ill decide what I think as it seems a bit like a J-Lo/Pitbull 'we can only have a hit if we work together' but I love Jess' vocals so I can't wait!

Posted by: Therm• 28th September 2014, 12:12 PM

Excitement. 2nd time-round dance collaborations can work if done well and aren't too similar to the first one, am looking forward to this!

Zane Lowe has the first play of this on Tuesday/Wednesday this week...I know he just spoke about it on Fearne's show but I've forgotten what date he said already!!

Posted by: mr_aly 29th September 2014, 11:18 AM

Ooooh, exciting! Could work out to be a smart idea for them.

Posted by: Stu1985 29th September 2014, 08:50 PM

Actually can't wait to hear this!

Clean Bandit are re-releasing their album with additional tracks.

I'm presuming this is mostly happening because they have nothing to release as a suitable second single in the USA tongue.gif I'm not sure releasing 2 Jess Glynne collabs in a row there is the best idea but I obviously see why they're doing it. I imagine it'll be pretty similar to 'Rather Be', hopefully not a total clone though.

Due to be played on zane lowe show right now on radio 1. 7.30pm, zane's hottest record in the world

Posted by: Stu1985 30th September 2014, 06:36 PM

Nice choon! Due to be a smash for sure!

Posted by: jsilv 30th September 2014, 06:38 PM

Nice to see Jess belt it out, very catchy and not a recreation of RB at all cheer.gif

Posted by: Cameron 30th September 2014, 06:45 PM

This is great ohmy.gif

Posted by: Rob S 30th September 2014, 06:50 PM

Wow sounds great, better than the last two CB songs. Still no where near better than RB though wub.gif

Posted by: Ne Plus Ultra 30th September 2014, 06:51 PM

This better hit #1. I'm loving this, especially since I'm now burnt out on "Rather Be". If it doesn't, at least they'll be the 2010's version of the Tamperer & Maya. kink.gif

Posted by: Kl▲mzee 30th September 2014, 06:53 PM

Really good! Potential for #1 if the release is handled right music.gif

Posted by: Davidson 30th September 2014, 07:23 PM

Wonderful. So glad it isn't a copy of RB, it is so fresh. They really work together amazingly well.

Posted by: Dobbo 30th September 2014, 07:53 PM

Like this on first listen, won't repeat anywhere near Rather Be's level of success but nice to hear something different from the same 2 acts!

Posted by: Jonjo 30th September 2014, 07:59 PM

That's brilliant! The hook is a bit plain/simple but it works. Very happy about it! Hopefully another number 1 for them.

Posted by: Bärenfanghoney 30th September 2014, 08:03 PM

That is an absolute f***ing tune. And a half.

It's surely gonna be number one.

Posted by: April 30th September 2014, 08:14 PM

LOVING THIS on first listen. Wow!

Posted by: Iz~ 30th September 2014, 08:14 PM

That is how to do a 'comeback'/extended album campaign! Should definitely have a second big hit on their hands with that one (at least, it MUST be). It's also rather brilliant and interesting but I've come to expect that from Clean Bandit anyway.

not bad. it's quite boring tho... there's a place it just doesn't GO to that it rly should've

Posted by: mr_aly 30th September 2014, 08:16 PM

Yep, very strong indeed! I'm not totally sure it'll be a number one but should be bigger than everything they released since 'Rather Be'.

Posted by: Jester 30th September 2014, 08:39 PM

Yes! Loving this biggrin.gif

Posted by: Davidson 30th September 2014, 08:44 PM

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't go #1? It sounds massive and is so catchy.

Sure, it won't be as big as 'Rather Be' but I can imagine it selling 600k easily, in the same way as 'My Love' has.

Posted by: gooddelta 30th September 2014, 09:54 PM

Seems like the type of song that might struggle comparatively in the November marketplace though!? I'd imagine a top five is on the cards but I don't expect it to go to #1 (very good though!)

Posted by: James1987 30th September 2014, 10:38 PM

I'd love to see this give Clean Bandit another number one I think this is great, better than I was expecting!

I do think it is missing that extra something in the chorus but that's a minor point, hope this is huge!

Just hearing this on for the first time on Radio 1 right now.

Very good song!

Not a fan tbh. It's somehow managed to make both songs sound boring. sad.gif

Agreed! I like both songs on their own (actually, I love Sunchyme!) but together... I don't think it works.

Posted by: JOTA 1st August 2020, 12:55 PM

I've listened Dario G's Sunchyme since its release in summer 1997... and this mashup is total fail, vocals not match any way to Sunchyme structure and main "African-esque" chant (original by Dream Academy's Life In A Northern Town)

Posted by: Jαsє 1st August 2020, 01:02 PM

They just butchered an absolute classic sad.gif
