Lawson will probably reach about #3 or so on iTunes (like all their other singles), the streaming factor will hamper them considerably but I see it peaking higher than 'Learn to Love Again' at least

Lawson will be lucky to manage to go top 10 on iTunes. I see this peaking at around #28 tbh, it's pre-orders have been rather poor and doesn't suggest in the slightest that 'Roads' will be hit.

I don't remember 'Juliet' doing much worse on pre-orders, so that would lead me to think Roads may chart in the Top 3? (it won't, but I personally don't see anything to suggest it'll perform *that* much worse than their past singles)

I can't find whose observation I'm stealing, but safe Capital/mass audience friendly songs seem to pull ahead of their pre-orders a lot lately, like 'Don't Look Down', 'Cool', 'Stronger' (which had only slightly better pre-orders than 'Rumors' -> #4 vs #17) and 'Heartbeat Song'. Given 'Roads' has genuinely been hammered by Capital I'm not too surprised, though I did think DJ SKT would be much higher.

I think its commercial peak was this time last year when I Wanna Feel went to #1. A few weeks after that, Gorgon City's Here For You 'only' got to #7 when it was predicted to top the charts by many and deep house songs started underperforming.

I did think Take Me Away could have got top 10 this week, but it's seem to have stalled. It is a very popular song in real life though.

I think i made a point about this a few weeks back, agreed that this is a very plausible theory and one we should all be considering~ (given that most of these song's first-week sales come *after* they've been released, kinda makes sense the songs that are either highly accessible/have high commercial radio support would outperform their pre-order performances)

Lost Frequencies Have we ruled this out too early for a top 10?

It's also worth noting that Florence has 4 singles in the top 75 #17, #50, #51, #69, I think this album could do very well indeed, I was worried for a while with the under performance of What Kind Of Man

I'm delighted how well that 'Runaway (U&I)' is performing as it should at least be #06 on Sunday with a return to the top 5 being a possibility.

The new 59p batch will be released tonight so hopefully some decent songs are in the batch (I Really Like You, Dear Future Husband, Jealous, One Last Time etc).

Even if they don't grab another top 10 at next week's end there's a reason why Lawson are doing better than Conor Maynard and Tulisa: airplay. Capital and Radio 2 are really supporting them on this. It's pleasing to see they are top 10 even with the constant push backs of release date this has experienced. They'll certainly need streaming on their side to stay top 10 though but I hope I'm proved wrong.

Ayo would be a fantastic 59p choice I'm still surprised its done as well as Loyal though, that felt more iconic.

Don't think I've ever heard a Lawson song. Are they the ones who had Kelly Brook in one of their videos or somebody else?

Good to see Natalie La Rose so high (I imagine it will chart at #4 or something). Heard her next song is with Fetty Wap Got high hopes for a song that combines the brilliance of Somebody and Trap Queen.

The reason Trap Queen is so high in the charts is because it was the most played song on Radio 1 last week! They dropped it off their playlist, and they were literally the only thing promoting the song so I think it'll probably drop fairly fast now (although streaming will probably keep it in the top 40 for a bit longer...).



I imagine Radio 1 will love this song. Lots of DJs seem to like it, I heard it three times in one night a couple of weeks back, and usually I hear it at least once, even in mainstream clubs.



Not sure on their total sales so I might be wrong, but Loyal probably did do better in the charts than Ayo? It got a lower peak, but Loyal wasn't held back so it had to climb into the top 10, which I don't think Ayo would've managed without being held back. And yeah, regardless of the charts, Loyal is obviously the bigger song of the two. This reminds me a bit of Breach's singles Jack and Everything You Never Had which did roughly the same in the charts.

Probably the best chance it has of charting this week, especially with the album streaming effect kicking in. Hopefully at least Top 75 - “All Under One Roof Raving” remains his biggest hit to-date in the UK (outside of The xx) reaching #123 last year.

I do like Lawson, I really do, but Capital playing them and not playing Tulisa / Conor Maynard makes no sense to me. I hate how the station supports an artist constantly and drops them like a fly the next minute.

'Loyal' is a good 150k ahead of 'Ayo' at the moment and is still selling/streaming well, so I think it'll remain ahead. However I think that 'Ayo' feels like the bigger hit - that could be because of it still getting good Capital support, but even so, I feel I've heard it a lot more on radio than 'Loyal', which is probably right since its the more commercial-sounding out of the two and has a catchier hook.

I'm not sure where Leona's new single will chart at, the original pre-orders had it in the high-70's directly after release for a good couple of days, then it remained around 250 for a couple of days, then it dropped out never to be seen again. Then it was pushed back, now it's been brought forward, I doubt she's got any promotion lined up for next week, but I can see this peaking around #10

I was going to say that Capital had a vested interest in Lawson, but actually I was getting them mixed up with the Wanted, wasn't I?

I think the other problem with that particular comparison is that there are other possible reasons for Conor and Tulisa to have career difficulties. Conor faced the usual problem for teen-oriented acts in that the audience moves on so far, and it's at least possible that some of the people who bought Tulisa's music have been put off by her image problem. I'm not saying they're right or wrong, just that it happened.

Capital very much do have a vested interest in Lawson, that's the only reason they have had any success at all. They're signed to that Global Talent thing that also runs Capital. Hence why Capital have spammed the shit out of all of their songs, including their debut when no one knew who they were.

She's on ITV's Palladium show this Sunday - I guess that's a big part of why they've brought it forward. She's doing some other TVs and radios in the next couple of weeks too. Well, when One More Sleep was released, fans only got it to #36 in its first week. and that's with better airplay and with streaming not included. I don't think the Palladium is going to have much effect, it didn't get Will Young top 40.

I think the new Rixton song will be a decent sized hit, should easily go top 10.

I find it crazy how a lot of labels have not realised the impact streaming has on the charts here now and how long it takes for a song to take off on streaming. By the time pretty girls starts getting any real streaming support it will have probably dropped out the chart.

I think the sales between 3-10 are quite close so movement is fluid that and the continued effect of the deletion and also capital arrived late to the party with the track so it's airplay is increasing a bit (only just reached top 40 at radio before capital support). Plus it's no1 on spotify now!

Muse Mercy 39 after Graham Norton.

Hope increasing radio 1 plays can stabilise this in the top 40 in the coming days and streams can pick up with the album release. It deserves to be a top 40 hit, wonderful track!

It's going to be interesting to see where Lawson finish on Sunday, if there's data missing in Friday's midweeks I predict that it would be around #07 in the midweeks rather than #05. I can see it missing the top 10 with it's challengers all dramatically increasing on iTunes. I'm guessing it will be around #14 on iTunes come midnight tomorrow and I'm expecting it to take a momentum drop next week similar to Ella Eyre.

So much Muse. Wish they'd concentrated on one or two tracks though, would've been nice to see them back in the T40 officially. Think the label are going to be disappointed with how well this album sells sadly, given that in the age of instant grats all the focus seems to be on the album instead of the songs. Fingers crossed for a big debut though.

Yeh it's true although I think the songs would do better with better support - it's only really radio 1 and a few others who playlist them. The instant Grat thing should insure a decent first week sale for them - I predict it'll break 70k!

Sia's 'Big Girls Cry' has now slipped out of the top 100. I'm immensely disappointed by that, it deserves so much more than a measly #77 peak.

I've personally always thought that Big Girls Cry was one of the weakest songs on 1000 Forms Of Fear, I thought that Eye Of The Needle, Fire Meet Gasoline and Dressed In Black were all much better single choices, and better songs, so I never really got behind it that much. But I agree that even for Big Girls Cry #77 is cruel
