BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Foxes - Better Love

The second single from Foxes' second album is Better Love, released 25th September. It's not yet out but there's a live performance:

Sounds more like something from her debut than Body Talk, we'll see I guess but it sounds solid.

I'm more taken by how much shes improved as a live performer since I saw her on Marina's tour a few years back. But will wait for HQ version of this to pass judgement! biggrin.gif

She was great at Hyde Park.

Body Talk was a great track! Intrigued by this!

It sounds more commercial than Body Talk, I give it that! Hopefully she can have a fourth top 20 in her belt (provided Radio 1 don't snub her from the A-List again sad.gif )

It's coming out this Friday! (https://www.facebook.com/iamfoxes/videos/821559207942169/)

I don't quite know what they're hoping to achieve with an immediate release, she's one artist who certainly can't afford this strategy.

I'll wait until the song is out before I give it a listen but I'm hoping it's better than FDFMN which I wasn't a big fan of.

This is not going to work out well sad.gif I know FDFMN managed to go to about #60 on iTunes just last week so hopefully Better Love will do slightly better.

See Foxes is just the type of artist who won't survive in on air sale sad.gif

I love it wub.gif It's definitely more commercial than Body Talk but it's gonna be screwed over so much by this OA/OS release drama.gif

'Body Talk' was always gonna be impossible to top for me as it's in my top 5 of the year, but this is a strong anthemic track! It sounds like the sort of thing that could do well (but very doubtful it will now).

Posted by: J▲hq 3rd September 2015, 04:05 PM

'Body Talk' really grew on me in the end but this is sounding a lot more instant and catchy on first play.

This is a jam *.* It sounds a little Bastille-ish in the chorus (which makes sense since she wrote it with Dan) heart.gif

Posted by: Kuki Sanban 3rd September 2015, 06:10 PM

Absolutely flawless, I'm just really concerned this is going to do absolutely nothing on the charts due to being OA/OS :/

Posted by: Joe. 3rd September 2015, 07:41 PM

Great song. It's got nothing on 'Body Talk' for me, which is still flawless. I hope this does her well. I can see it struggling for the top 40 sad.gif

I really love the chorus on this. heart.gif

Really liking it on the whole too, two excellent singles is making me excited for the album!

Yass Froot *.*

As long as it does something for album pre-orders I'm not too bothered about where it lands. Can't do any worse than Lay Me Down angel.gif

This is sounding good on first listen, and while it won't help her (although judging by 'Body Talk' a held-back release would end up with a just as bad week or two top 75 and never seen again), it's great news she is doing On Air/On Sale as it does suggest that every artist (bar a few dance acts who have pre-orders lined up) is going to change to On Air/On Sale which is what the UK really need to get to grips with.

I have no clue whether I like this or not yet, hopefully it grows sad.gif

Apparently they've pulled the plug on the album (though to be fair “Better Love” was a song title and little inspiration beyond that).

RIP Foxes. : (

“Body Talk” and “Youth” remain above average tunes however.

Oh dear - Poor Foxes. sad.gif

Do you have a source?

Twitter hearsay so not confirmed, but it does sound fairly plausible after the last single failed to get beyond #90. The album remains on pre-order for February 2016 though so it could still happen.

That's awful news (if it's true), I hope she carries on independently, she's better off that way tbh.

Posted by: NellyEverySundae 25th October 2015, 01:54 PM

I seriously doubt that is true. If it is, it's a real shame but I haven't seen this being said anywhere yet and until it is confirmed I'm still thinking it's probably getting released.

Posted by: Dandyman*5 25th October 2015, 02:03 PM

I hope that's not true for her... in this day and age, surely a digital only release at least must be cost effective? Assuming all the tracks are already completed that is...

Posted by: FranCAMstein 25th October 2015, 11:34 PM

Better Love is still getting played on the radio and I think she is more of an album artist than a single one. I seriously hope this is not true as she is one of my absolute favs!
