Could I request this be moved to R&B?

But yeah, this is definitely one of those monster hits and I'm actually on board. Bruno is so under appreciated here on Buzzjack!

The main hook of this song is blatantly lifted from Trinidad James' 'All Gold Everything' and it BOTHERS me because I keep expecting the 'n**** n**** n****' after it kink.gif

Not really sure what to think of this on first listen, I'm sure it'll grow on me but for the above reason it just sounds a bit weird. Will obviously be a massive hit anyway and hopefully we'll get something as good as 'Bang Bang Bang'/'The Bike Song' from this era ~

(BTW why the hell is this in pop lol, can we sort that out plz)

You would know from the first page that I had my doubts as with Ronson, it could be ANY genre and the song hadn't premiered. sleep.gif

But yes get this away from the platinum pixies and into RnB.

The debate seems to be "Mark Ronson does different types of music and so not sure where to place him"... when in reality he does "different types of urban music" so i thought his placing was pretty obvious tongue.gif

Well fair enough I guess but a song called 'Uptown Funk' featuring Bruno Mars seems like it's quite obviously gonna be a throwback soul/funk song ph34r.gif

(Agree with Bal also that he does make quite diverse styles of music but they mostly fall under 'urban' - 'Ooh Wee'/'Bang Bang Bang' are hip-hop, 'Valerie' is soul, this is funk etc. ~ Urban isn't just hip-hop and R&B!!1!)

I know this will get lost in the Pop forum amongst all the platinum pixies and Wiki would put him in every genre forum but it's the best match to a genre bending musician.

Yeah it's a tough one but you describe him perfectly in the bit I've bolded and the reason why I'd keep him in pop for now just while we wait to see if the album is the same sort of sound before moving all of his threads to the Urban forum, but if the other mods want to move him straight away then that's fine - we're discussing it now and will have a decision shortly!

'Feel Right' feat Mystikal is the first instant grat from the album:

Sounds like a slicker updated version of something that could have been on 'Here Comes the Fuzz'!
Hopefully! biggrin.gif

this is my favourite one.

I wasn't expecting much from this as I'm not a Bruno Mars fan but it's really good! Glad I like it anyhow as it's gonna be really big.

This will be 2015's Rather Be! I think sales could end up higher than Clean Bandits opening week!

December 27th would have been better but the song is hot stuff right now so can't say I'm fussed it's being brought forward even earlier. I think this will be the 'Happy' of last year. Imagine if it was Christmas #1 *.* ( not that it has any chance). Would love it to be though.
