500 multicharts, that's insane *.*
hopefully there'll be a fair amount of non-female popstar #1s but I imagine those were really rare in the site's early days |

This better not go until next year like what you almost let the Year-End chart do!

2006 1 Sugababes "Red Dress" (1 week) 2 P!nk "Stupid Girls" (1 week) 3 Embrace "Nature's Law" (3 weeks) 4 Infernal "From Paris To Berlin" (5 weeks) 5 Nelly Furtado "Maneater" (4 weeks) 6 Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie" (2 weeks) 7 Lily Allen "Smile" (1 week) 8 Rogue Traders "Voodoo Child" (1 week) 9 Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man" (2 weeks) 10 Rihanna "Unfaithful" (1 week) 11 Cascada "Everytime We Touch" (1 week) 12 Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" (5 weeks) 13 Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars" (3 weeks) 14 Girls Aloud "Something Kinda Oooh" (3 weeks) 15 All Saints "Rock Steady" (3 weeks) 16 Nelly Furtado "All Good Things (Come To An End)" (7 weeks) So it was the Sugababes that claimed the very first Multichart #1, in a year that also saw Girls Aloud and All Saints claiming #1s. It was the first of many for GA, not so much for All Saints. But it was Nelly Furtado's year, 11 weeks at #1 with two AMAZING songs. Definitely surprised to see Embrace on this list, them and Snow Patrol both showing that bands could top the multi in the early days, but will this continue?? |

Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie" (2 weeks) In my top 10 of all-time 7 Lily Allen "Smile" (1 week) 9 Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man" (2 weeks) 10 Rihanna "Unfaithful" (1 week) 11 Cascada "Everytime We Touch" (1 week) 14 Girls Aloud "Something Kinda Oooh" (3 weeks) 15 All Saints "Rock Steady" (3 weeks) 16 Nelly Furtado "All Good Things (Come To An End)" (7 weeks) An excellent start *.* |

Embrace having a 3-week #1 back in the day? I had no idea. Great song too.
Unfaithful, Everytime We Touch, I Don't Feel Like Dancing were all highlights of 2006 too, good to see them on top for actually, 7 weeks in a row. |

Surely 'Nature's Law' is overdue some sort of chart resurgence in the same vein as 'One Day Like This'? I actually really like all of the songs, 'Chasing Cars' is a bit overplayed and perhaps inferior to 'You're All I Have', but there's no questioning the power it has!
'Unfaithful' and 'All Good Things' are my least faves out of those! |

1 Sugababes "Red Dress" (1 week) quite good but ultimately a disposable pop song which I wouldn't regularly listen to.
2 P!nk "Stupid Girls" (1 week) bleh, she has better 3 Embrace "Nature's Law" (3 weeks) okay but a bit on the boring side 4 Infernal "From Paris To Berlin" (5 weeks) really loved this back then 5 Nelly Furtado "Maneater" (4 weeks) now this was a great pop song 6 Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie" (2 weeks) still iconic, no surprise this was #1 everywhere 7 Lily Allen "Smile" (1 week) i liked this too, seems very innocent especially considering her later songs (F*ck You/Hard Out Here) 8 Rogue Traders "Voodoo Child" (1 week) this was a tune 9 Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man" (2 weeks) see Red Dress 10 Rihanna "Unfaithful" (1 week) beatufiul sang 11 Cascada "Everytime We Touch" (1 week) absolutely loved this, shame their later songs were just weaker versions of this (until Evacuate happened anyway, and a similar decline in quality happened from there) 12 Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" (5 weeks) this was soo overplayed but I do look back on it fondly 13 Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars" (3 weeks) same with this 14 Girls Aloud "Something Kinda Oooh" (3 weeks) decent song but too overrated on here by certain members 15 All Saints "Rock Steady" (3 weeks) see Red Dress 16 Nelly Furtado "All Good Things (Come To An End)" (7 weeks) really 7 weeks?? it's not that good early buzzjack |

I think I didn't find "Something Kinda Oooh" until 2008, but when I first listened to it, it was literally life-changing.

1 Sugababes "Red Dress" (1 week) quite good while not really being a sugas classic 2 P!nk "Stupid Girls" (1 week) forgettable 3 Embrace "Nature's Law" (3 weeks) Yesss If only it were possible to get a multichart #1 like this again 4 Infernal "From Paris To Berlin" (5 weeks) this was great, very infectious <3 5 Nelly Furtado "Maneater" (4 weeks) this was good too! 6 Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie" (2 weeks) haven't listened to this in a while though I liked it at the time 7 Lily Allen "Smile" (1 week) great pop with a bright & quirky charm, kinda like Foundations the year after which is even better imo 8 Rogue Traders "Voodoo Child" (1 week) fun little hit! 9 Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man" (2 weeks) can't say I loved it though it wasn't bad. 'Hurt' on the other hand 10 Rihanna "Unfaithful" (1 week) meh 11 Cascada "Everytime We Touch" (1 week) quite like this actually, perhaps their only real shining moment 12 Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" (5 weeks) omg *.* still enjoy this a lot 13 Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars" (3 weeks) pretty nice 14 Girls Aloud "Something Kinda Oooh" (3 weeks) the tutu song *.* 15 All Saints "Rock Steady" (3 weeks) wasn't bad from what I remember 16 Nelly Furtado "All Good Things (Come To An End)" (7 weeks) 7 wks might be a bit extreme though this was still quite good. She has better to come tho stay tuned ~ |

Ahh 2006, the Buzzjack glory days
The multi was much more diverse then (and I shared a load of number 1s with it). BJ has been around for 503 weeks, so 3 weeks were missing from the multi at some point! |

2007 17 Mika "Grace Kelly" (3 weeks) 18 Kelis "Lil Star" (2 weeks) 19 Nelly Furtado "Say It Right" (5 weeks) 20 Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend" (1 week) 21 Beyonce & Shakira "Beautiful Liar" (5 weeks) 22 Rihanna feat. Jay-Z "Umbrella" (7 weeks) 23 Avril Lavigne "When You're Gone" (1 week) 24 Fergie "Big Girls Don't Cry" (2 weeks) 25 Groove Armada feat. Mutya Buena "Song 4 Mutya (Out Of Control)" (1 week) 26 Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson "The Way I Are" (2 weeks) 27 Robyn feat. Kleerup "With Every Heartbeat" (2 weeks) 28 Girls Aloud "Sexy! No No No" (3 weeks) 29 Sugababes "About You Now" (6 weeks) 30 Britney Spears "Gimme More" (1 week) 31 Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love" (4 weeks) 32 Girls Aloud "Call The Shots" (5 weeks) The #1s of 2007 became a lot more female dominated, with only Mika and Timbaland representing the men in terms of lead artists (and Groove Armada but Mutya does the vocals lol)! The longest runner of the year comes from Rihanna with Umbrella, dominating for not quite as long in the UK chart but still a hefty 7 weeks! Girls Aloud had two further #1s as well as a long running #1 for About You Now by the Sugababes, my personal favourite of theirs! Ex-member Mutya Buena also had her own #1 with Groove Armada. |
