This sounds incredible! Can't wait for this biggrin.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 5th August 2019, 03:12 PM

This sounds really good! So summery wub.gif

Wonder if it'll be just a promo track seeing as though 'Goodbyes' is only a month old

Posted by: Theonix 5th August 2019, 05:06 PM

Goodbyes is creeping on becoming my favourite single of his, more music of this/Better Now's style please!

Posted by: SLlewellyn 5th August 2019, 09:53 PM

It annoys me how much I end up enjoying each of Post Malone’s releases, and I’m sure this one’ll be no different.

Posted by: dobbo 5th August 2019, 10:09 PM

I'm still not over how Goodbyes underperformed sad.gif this is also sounding very positive though!

Posted by: Bré 6th August 2019, 12:37 AM

A little disappointed if he's abandoning 'Goodbyes' already, that song really deserved better (not that it did badly but it feels like it should be bigger than it has been so far).

Posted by: Bjork 6th August 2019, 07:11 AM

hope they've learnt the lesson and don't release a video from the start
I really think thats why Goodbyes underperformed
without a video, people are forced to stream, same strategy as Drake

Posted by: dobbo 6th August 2019, 08:45 AM

But vids now count to the chart tbf, not by a great proportion admittedly but they'd at least have some noticeable impact compared to back when if One Dance had a vid. I just don't think the public bought into it as much as his other recent works.

Posted by: Bjork 6th August 2019, 08:54 AM

they count but very little
from a chart-perspective, much better to have audio than video streams

Posted by: Bjork 6th August 2019, 11:21 AM

after hearing the snippet, this sounds very super bubblegum pop zero urban smile.gif

So many hit songs have a video from the start. That is not the reason for this underperforming by Posty's usual standards. Using your example of Drake, a video from the start didn't stop Nice for What. It means this song, for whatever reason, hasn't clicked as much as the last few. It's a shame but that's all there is to it.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th August 2019, 06:33 PM

This is releasing tomorrow!

Posted by: SKOB 15th August 2019, 09:09 PM

Is this produced by Kevin Parker?

The song is good but he's an awful singer :/

Posted by: Jαsє 28th August 2019, 10:25 PM

Out on Friday!

Posted by: Bjork 30th August 2019, 06:34 AM

oh my this is almost bubblegum pop biggrin.gif
not sure what his fanbase will think, it's not very urban

lets see ifs team learned there lesson, if there's no video from day 1 sure his streams will be bigger

Posted by: SKOB 30th August 2019, 05:00 PM

Already stalling on iTunes, oops!

Posted by: lewistgreen 30th August 2019, 05:49 PM

Am I listening to a different song, what part of this is bubblegum pop? rotf.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 30th August 2019, 05:55 PM

Yeah it sounds more indie pop than anything. There was a rumor that it was produced by Tame Impala - turns out it wasn't, but it does sound like it.

Posted by: Jαsє 3rd September 2019, 10:08 PM

Damn, he's got a budget for his latest vids ohmy.gif

Posted by: Cqmerqn 7th September 2019, 10:22 PM

This song is so good wub.gif

Goodbyes and Circles are both 11/10 songs!

Posted by: Mack. 10th September 2019, 03:20 PM

'Circles' this is great from Post Malone. Another good song from him.

Posted by: Bré 11th September 2019, 07:44 PM

Loving this so much rn, Posty really has an ear for a great melody. One of his best songs.

Posted by: Steve201 12th September 2019, 09:32 AM

Added to radio 2s playlist 😂

Posted by: Mack. 24th September 2019, 03:20 PM

'Circles' becoming an 7th UK Top5 hit for him. For some reason this reminds me a bit in parts to something from Empire of the Sun.

Posted by: Mack. 21st October 2019, 02:30 PM

Another new peak for 'Circles'. This time of #4 in the UK.

Posted by: Mack. 28th October 2019, 04:24 PM

And now it matches the peak of 'Wow' and 'Sunflower'.

Posted by: zenon 6th November 2019, 05:26 PM

Do you think elderly people would like Circles? It's a world away from Post's normal style and even Radio 2 have playlisted it.

My great aunt thought it sounded good.

Posted by: Bjork 11th November 2019, 07:55 PM

Circles was predicted top hit #1 in the US this week but SLY has blocked it wink.gif

Posted by: #Justice4Wonho 12th November 2019, 02:58 AM

Should be interesting to see if Circles will end up getting the Billboard topper at all now, Memories is ahead of it by a mile on iTunes and Good As Hell is catching up to it quickly on pop airplay. At least it has the upper hand in Spotify but Travis Scott is taking up the top spot there at the moment

This is still Post's best single PERIODT

Posted by: Bjork 12th November 2019, 06:32 AM

next week he'll be #1 easily, SYL is dropping

Posted by: Bré 13th November 2019, 12:23 AM

A bit disappointed this ended up missing out on the #1 last week (although not too surprising as the projection was very close) but it'll still have a couple more shots at it I think, there aren't any new releases that will threaten to zoom straight to #1 this week so should just continue to be a close race between the existing contenders again.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 25th November 2019, 07:17 PM

#1 in the US!

Posted by: Bré 25th November 2019, 07:26 PM

Yasss, finally, thank god. It was looking like yet another photo finish between him and Lewis, I don't know if I could take him stalling at #2 by a tiny margin a third week in a row laugh.gif (of course it's a very weak #1 in terms of chart points but still, a #1 is a #1 ~)

Posted by: Fred Conner 8th December 2019, 12:22 PM

Post is doing a great work. RESPECT!

Posted by: dandy* 6th January 2020, 11:12 AM

Obviously I'm extremely late to the party on this one but I've grown to really like this now! In fact I'm finding I quite like a lot of his material after initially dismissing him.

Posted by: lewistgreen 6th January 2020, 10:49 PM

Back to #1 in the US this week!

Posted by: Dobbo 6th January 2020, 11:00 PM

Pretty ridiculous how such an average song (and one of his worst imo) is still doing so well. I don't always buy the "it's only doing well on name power alone" tag but this is the best example I can think of in a good while.

Posted by: coi 6th January 2020, 11:03 PM

It really isn't on name power alone. I think it's more to do with how this song is getting support from radio stations that don't usually play his stuff, as this one is a lot more pop than most of his other singles so far.

Posted by: Dobbo 6th January 2020, 11:06 PM

That is very true, I suppose.

Posted by: Bré 7th January 2020, 12:53 AM

It can hardly be on name power alone when it did significantly better than the other singles from his album... tongue.gif (well apart from 'Sunflower'). I really don't think 'doing well on name alone' is something that can be said about any really big hit in the streaming era, people will not continue streaming songs that they don't like.

I think whatever you think of this song it's extremely obvious to see why it would have wider appeal than other songs from the album.

Posted by: SKOB 7th January 2020, 07:48 AM

His name alone helps in airplay though. He is, together with Shawn Mendes, in that position now where Taylor and Katy were 5 years ago and Maroon 5 since where everything he releases gets automatically huge pop support if it is pop enough.

So all he needs to do is release a pop friendly song and there we go, #1 airplay hit in the US is in the bag.

For the near future, I predict his streaming numbers will decrease a bit or a lot, but he will get big airplay hits even more easily right out of the gate. He is soon "a soccer mom fave" tongue.gif
