Think it's about time this guy got his own thread, right? He's been dominating the Irish singles chart for months (no mean feat!), has been making waves via TV promo in the US recently and looks poised to build on his hype in the UK with multiple shows and festivals lined up over the coming weeks. It appears an album is in the works following his two EP releases, although nothing solid has been confirmed yet. His second (official) single 'Sedated' will be released on the 14th of July though biggrin.gif.

Absolutely love this along with 'Take Me To Church' and 'From Eden' (haven't heard the rest of the tracks on the EPs yet mellow.gif). Brilliant voice and songwriting. Very much looking forward to the album!

I heard 'Take Me To Church' a fortnight ago and I was blown away. I thought it was a masterpiece and then I heard 'Sedated' on Radio 1 a couple of times and now I've became addicted to his work. I can't wait to hear his album, he's great smile.gif

Hozier is an unbelievable artist! He sold out two small London shows in 5 minutes (which I believ ehave just passed yesterday and the day before). He's got a couple of festival slots lined up, watch this space Hozier will be massive.

I would like 'Take Me To Church' to be a proper UK single (Radio 1 playlisting and all that). I know it's already released but still, it should do good chart-wise I think.

Noah do you have the Irish chart runs for him ?

Love this artist he seems instantly special - Take me to the Church is an instant masterpiece and was No1 early this year for me. Sedated was released on 21/5 or something!

He has had 2 playlistings I radio 1s INMWT list so I think TMTTC could be released and given support in the second half of the year!

Just looked up his chart runs - he really deserves a #1!:

Take Me To Church: 20-4-3-2-2-2-2-4-3-4-3-7-12-9-4-6-7-6-6-4-5-9-4-5-6-5-7-8-11-15-13-15-15-10-14 [35 weeks] (Every top 15 position except #1 pirate.gif)

From Eden: 34-8-7-2-2-3-2-4-4-11-6-13 [12 weeks]

Oops, I read that 'Sedated' would be out on the 14/7 in the UK - hadn't realised it's actually already been released huh.gif. It's still up for pre-order in Ireland.

Wow thanks great chart runs. Were they OAOS ? Sedated held back as he's more established now - yeh maybe it's impact date is July - it's out now on iTunes - reminds me I must update my new releases!

Yep, I think both were OA/OS. Their first weeks would certainly indicate so anyway.

Yeah they are and I'm not sure if you can get them anywhere. I just did them up from the Irish chart thread (which was quite laborious given TMTC's longevity!)

Take me to Church is a Hottest record for Zane Lowe from last night(its some new version or something Huw who was in for Zane said). Hopefully this means TMTC will be the first official single before the albums released in September & radio 1 put it in the main playlist as From Eden & Sedated were introduced through the INMWT list!

I like "Take Me To The Church" and it seems that only Irish appreciated this song when it should be successful everywhere. Maybe it will be a U.k hit the next months.

His Live Lounge performances were great, especially his cover of "Problem/Regulate":

Watch "Take Me to Church" and "From Eden" here.
