Will this be coming back for the autumn or do we have to wait for the Christmas special next?

It's a pity, tv needs more music in the run up to Xmas!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. It's not been confirmed as cancelled and Greg James is Radio 1's new golden boy so I can't quite see them binning this off just yet.

If Sounds Like Friday Night was to make a return then it would most likely be in the second or third week of October, assuming it was to be for a 6 week run. That would match up with when promo for Quarter 4 albums starts to kick in. If we hear nothing in the next fortnight then I think we can assume the programme won't be making a return.
Personally I'll be surprised if it does make a return but stranger things have happened. As a programme it just never attracted enough decent viewing figures. But you never know... but it would require the music industry to get behind the programme by getting the biggest artists and acts on board but whether they they will... we'll have to see. |

I kind of want it to go away and be quickly forgotten, so in a few years time when the right person becomes BBC TV Controller they can bring back TOTP. I know it's very unlikely, but not impossible!

I kind of want it to go away and be quickly forgotten, so in a few years time when the right person becomes BBC TV Controller they can bring back TOTP. I know it's very unlikely, but not impossible! They should bring it back anyway. They only need look at Twitter and associated outlets every Thursday night to see how popular the reruns are on BBC Four. Amusing that everything I said about this show a year ago has subsequently been proven right. It so badly reeked of desperation. I still believe the public would respond well to a weekly music show with a focus on the charts on primetime telly in a good time slot (7-8pm). But everything about Sounds Like Friday Night was so focus grouped within an inch of its life you could see its flopping in the ratings and panning coming from a mile off. The Beeb's needless desire to categorise and commodify pop as disposable shit is what killed it off. |

Heard "on the grapevine" that SLFN is coming back early next year!
And whilst it still hasn't been announced yet, TOTP is definitely happening this Christmas still, whoop! |

I don't think those are connected with the programme other than the name tbh, they don't even use the logo.
