Hey everyone and welcome to the 9th edition of reloaded as we head back to BJSC 9, which was hosted by ThisIsPop! Welcome to Ultraviolenceland as we re-run the 9th BJSC Contest!
Deadline is: 15th February 23:59PM so please get your votes in as soon as you can! Voting will be done in the usual manner of awarding your top ten in each semi 12/10/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 points, via PM to myself. As we are still in the stages of Re:Loaded where a majority of the participants no longer participate, there are no deductions for non-voting, however if you do have a representative in the contest, you may not vote for your own entry. (Side note: my computer is f*cked up so can't re-arrange these into any idea so the final runthrough list is the aq's followed by semi 1 qualifiers followed by semi 2 qualifiers) Nonsuch: Cyndi Lauper - Into The Nightlife United States Of Jack: Danity Kane - Bad Girl Ashton: Amy MacDonald - Barrowland Ballroom Land Of Jack: Star Pilots – In The Heat Of The Night Kingdom of Shadow: Margaret Berger - Will You Remember Me Tomorrow Tapatilandia: Killers - On Top Allecian: LeAnn Rimes – Nothing Better To Do Quotosibb: Santogold – You'll Find A Way MKL: Veronicas - This Love Hitanya: Jem – 24 FSR Rontvia: Sanna Nielsen - Nobody Without You Faztickle: Lucie Silvas - The Game Is Won B.a.N.G: Bjork – Joga Bokia: Namie Amuro - Can't Eat, Can't Sleep, I'm Sick Utopia: John Legend/Andre 3000 - Green Light Fervorosia: Bertine Zetlitz - Fake Your Beauty Herzebania: Helena Paparizou – Teardrops Simondly: Pink - So What Bhangra: Velvet - Fix Me Jesters Kingdom: Alizee – Moi Lolita Torchwood: Sneaky Sound System - Pictures Kylienips: Sandra Cretu – Hiroshima Tinnmark: Marit Larsen - Under the Surface Ojnoj: Twiins - I Don't Know Why Tasha Island: Monrose – Hot Summer Eledan: Morandi - Angels Voters: |

Am definitely going to vote in this in the next few days and everyone else should too!
(before BJSC semis go up and everyone gets consumed by the main contest) |

YAS SANNA *.*
Have a new appreciation for this legend after seeing her live last year. (She sang Empty Room, I'm In Love AND Undo and in the process ended my life. There was also a schlager cover of Heroes I never knew I needed in my life, Waterloo and the rest of Sweden's ESC winners) Gonna be a tough call between Sanna and Margaret for my 12. |

I feel like this might be the best Reloaded so far. Certainly got a host of good tracks on offer. Give us a good (at least slightly inspired) winner out of this please.
Oh, and sending votes. |

I have also voted in this, there were quite a few songs I gave points to in the semi-finals that grew on me even more <3

Actually do you lot just want results starting in about an hour? There are even less votes in the final than there was in the semi

Oops at how terrible the turnout for this has got :') |

We tried bringing this back as it seems some people wanted it to return when we temporarily suspended it last year, but it seems it was just a very vocal minority!
There was only another one of these planned for this year, but it may not even be worth doing that unless someone can come up with a way to get a lot more interest. |

The next one is BJSC X though which everyone has wanted forever. At least as long as Reloaded has been around. And when I say 'everyone' I mean most of the people who are still around who were in that contest - with a few harassing PMs that could work - although it may underperform I hope it doesn't because it's always been the thing I've heard of 'let's get to X'.
Beyond that it may not be worth doing them all in order sadly but I don't think the concept of using entries from past BJSCs is entirely dead, we could pick a random contest to rerun in non-spinoff months and as those will likely have more than 3 active participants it may attract more interest. Even mishmashing a few contests could work. |

I forgot this was even running. I'll try and vote tomorrow.
One option could be for us to run Re:LOADED in the main forum rather than as a 'spin off' seeing as it's not really a spin off. I don't think it helps that most of the participants are new so don't really get involved as they weren't part of the contest back then so don't really have a stake in the outcome. So much motivation seems to be placing rather than new music which is sad as so many of these contests have some fab tracks. Can't Let Go, Will You Remember Me Tomorrow, Colour Me Dirty et al |

Have voted too, I completely forgot this was going on!
I think the traditional Reloaded format probably isn't worth continuing with, based on the continuing low voters turnout. There are indeed some gems, but to find them you have to wade through a lot of filler too, especially considering 2008 was hardly a banner year for BJSC, as it was just finding its feet. The 2009 contests were really high quality for the most part, so it would certainly be interested to see the format continue in some respect so people can discover some of the gems from that year and beyond. I'm not surprised that the 2008 contests haven't gained much traction though in all honesty. |
