BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Friday Chart Predictions

Posted by: SevenSeize 12th September 2020, 07:07 PM

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion could make it 3 weeks at #1 on the singles chart, with 24kGoldn & Iann Dior being their closest competition. S1mba & KSI look to make a big debut with Loose, plus potential new entries for Marshmello & Demi Lovato with OK Not To Be OK, David Guetta & Sia with Let's Love and M1llionz with Lagga

Doves return with The Universal Want, their first album in over a decade, and could claim their third #1. Looking to enter the top 10 are the latest albums from Marilyn Manson with We Are Chaos and Everything Everything with Re-Animator, plus new releases from The Flaming Lips, Roachford, Mastodon and YoungBoy Never Broke Again

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.
- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Posted by: SevenSeize 12th September 2020, 07:39 PM

hard to call where Everything Everything will chart this time, i'll take anywhere in the top 10 laugh.gif depends how big their core fanbase is now, as they're the only ones likely to buy this album

Posted by: ts7sfkptm 12th September 2020, 08:01 PM

hoping David Guetta & Sia are as high as possible!!

Posted by: Bré 12th September 2020, 08:07 PM

#1 should be a safe bet for Doves I'd think, I'm pretty sure their last album missed out by a tiny margin - that was right around the time I originally joined BuzzJack so it's been a long wait for them to get another shot at the top spot! Nervously awaiting Everything Everything's initial midweek position ~

edit: just looked it up and the last Doves album missed #1 by four copies. Wew xx Also with much higher sales than I remembered (over 44k), interested to see how close they'll come to those numbers this time.

Very happy to see Everything Everything hopefully on course to be the 2nd highest new entry (I was kind of expecting Marilyn Manson to be ahead of them now). Fingers crossed for top 5 still.

There doesn't look to be any new albums out next week that seem like obvious #1 contenders, wondering if we might end up having Pop Smoke finally hit #1 by default.

Honestly - if Ava Max’s record company start wheeling out the £4.99 signed albums & downloads, and reduced bundles she could actually be in with a shot (followed by a drop to #68 the following week laugh.gif )

Let’s Love deserves to be number one for the rest of the year IMO.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 14th September 2020, 04:42 PM

I'm hoping steps are top 100.

Posted by: ___∆___ 14th September 2020, 04:47 PM

Rolling Stones holding up much better than I expected - thought they would be out of the Top 20 tbh.

The Lathums sneaking into the top 100 singles with a vinyl-release! I can see their debut album next year going to #1 with strong sales

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 14th September 2020, 04:52 PM

I know they wont stay in but wanted steps to get at least a midweek chart, both them and kylie in the top 100 for now biggrin.gif

Posted by: girl_from_oz 14th September 2020, 05:12 PM

Roachford hasn't had a top 40 album in 23 years, although not as big a gap as Billy Ocean , 32 years ago between his previous top 40 student album and the current one

Posted by: M4NGO 14th September 2020, 05:12 PM

Steps might just stay in, would be nice to see them get a Top 100 hit in 2020!

Fingers crossed 'That's Love' can stay Top 40 biggrin.gif

Posted by: davidas 14th September 2020, 05:16 PM

Happy to see Miley climbing!!

Also good to see Steps top 100 and Kylie re-entering.

I think everyone misheard it as 'That's Love' - tbh they should have just renamed the song 'That's Love' laugh.gif

I think the same laugh.gif nobody would've known!!

and yayyy cheer.gif at it being top 40, I really hope it holds up throughout the week, and hopefully sees a rise in the coming weeks!
and hoping the OCC realise Sia is lead artist too and not featured......

I know what you mean in relation to Pop Smoke but if it does hit number one it’ll be due to its consistency in sales rather than by default

two new Pendulum songs - first release in a decade so could do reasonably well depending on how commercial it sounds.

Posted by: Steve201 14th September 2020, 06:16 PM

Hope radio 1 supports then!

Posted by: Bré 14th September 2020, 06:19 PM

I'd be surprised if Pendulum managed to come back with a hit single (maybe top 100 but I doubt they'd go top 40) but we'll see I guess ~

Posted by: TheSnake 14th September 2020, 07:27 PM

No Gok Wan in the first update then, would have expected him to be low top 40 there.

Pendulum I think should do a Bring Me The Horizon and go top 40 but I am not sure.

So why's Roachford suddenly doing so well with this new album when the last 6 didn't even chart? Where have all those new fans come from? It's a half decent album too, got some very soulful songs on it.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 15th September 2020, 01:08 PM

Its sales are still low so that why Roachford is getting so high, previous albums may have had similar sales and charted way way lower.

His profile got a boost when “Cuddly Toy” was used in the opening credits of the Alan Partridge film (it was the first time I’d heard of him despite his previous success), so could be related to that.

Posted by: Bjork 15th September 2020, 02:39 PM

I think the Roachford albums that did nothing 10 years ago were in a small US hiphop label
now he's on a big label (BMG) and at least he's got R2 support

Mood for No.1 - smile.gif

Posted by: dan-G 16th September 2020, 05:46 PM

it does look like Mood could do it this week. although it’d need to keep gaining on Spotify which it probably will.
great to see Looking For Me still in the top five.

Posted by: baccseat 16th September 2020, 06:16 PM

Cardi and Megan for 3 weeks! cool.gif

Posted by: Brightest Blue 16th September 2020, 06:26 PM

WAP is doing double Mood on YouTube, ahead on Apple (1 vs 3) and only slightly behind on iTunes and Spotify. I think 2k is enough of a lead at this point, but I guess it depends on tomorrow’s Spotify update!

Posted by: Bré 16th September 2020, 06:33 PM

Looks like the gap between 'WAP' and 'Mood' is still more or less the same as it was yesterday, I'm fairly sure Cardi will hang on this week but there should be a good chance of 'Mood' overtaking next week. I really hope so anyway, would be the best #1 in a little while! I really liked most of the #1s of the year up to 'ROCKSTAR' (all of them except 'Own It' and the 2 charity songs made it somewhere in my personal chart and quite a few of them were top 10 hits for me) but the last 3 have been a bit below the standard of the rest of the year for me.

-cue this Bieber/Chance song debuting at #1 to block it- x

Everything Everything still clinging onto the top 3 for now I see but with them only doing ~200 sales per day I assume they're probably going to be caught in the last couple of days by a good handful of the older albums in the top 10, so looks like this will only be like #7-9 for them at the end of the week </3

Posted by: M4NGO 16th September 2020, 07:28 PM

Yes, let's end WAP's run at the top! #moodstreamingparty

Shame Roachford is falling so fast throughout the week unsure.gif

Just extrapolating from them only selling ~200 per day for the last two days, at that rate they'll end the week at around 4.6k (and that's being generous giving them another ~200 for upweighted streams) - that's a good few hundred below what Taylor, Juice and Lewis did last week (and on par with Dua) so unless any/all of those are set to significantly decrease this week they all have a good chance of overtaking and that's not even considering The Rolling Stones and Nines (unsure how their numbers are holding up but of course both did well over 4.6k last week) and the possibility that Marilyn Manson might still overtake them too.

I do hope you're right though ofc xx
