Thought this would be the best idea to start the thread after the first round draw was done yesterday. First Round Draw: Burton Albion v Peterborough United Port Vale v Maidenhead United Barnet v Blackpool Bristol Rovers v Chesham United Cambridge United v Basingstoke Town Mansfield Town v Oldham Athletic Altrincham v Barnsley Crewe Alexandra v Eastleigh Northwich Victoria or Chorley v Boreham Wood Coventry City v Northampton Town Brackley Town v Newport County AFC Grimsby Town v St Albans City Hartlepool United v Havant and Waterlooville or Cheltenham Town Salford City v Notts County Dover Athletic v Stourbridge Stevenage v Gillingham Millwall v AFC Fylde Aldershot Town v Bradford City Walsall v Fleetwood Town Bury v Wigan Athletic Portsmouth v Macclesfield Town Sheffield United v Worcester City Barwell or AFC Rushden & Diamonds v Grays Athletic or Welling FC Halifax or Guiseley v Wycombe Wanderers Crawley Town v Luton Town Doncaster Rovers v Stalybridge or North Ferriby United Didcot Town v Exeter City Dagenham & Redbridge v Morecambe Leyton Orient v Staines Town Gainsborough Trinity v Shrewsbury Town Maidstone United v Yeovil Town Braintree Town v Oxford United Whitehawk v Tranmere Rovers or Lincoln City Accrington Stanley v York City Scunthorpe United v Southend United AFC Wimbledon v Forest Green Rovers Plymouth Argyle v Carlisle United FC United of Manchester v Chesterfield Rochdale AFC v Swindon Town Wealdstone v Colchester United What do you make of the draw? Will you be following your local club throughout the early rounds. I'll be following Worcester City. |

My nearest club (Bournemouth Poppies) were knocked out ages ago The next nearest doesn't enter until January.
My guesses for live coverage (two on BT, one on BBC) - Didcot (the lowest-ranked side left) v Exeter Salford (owned by some of MU's class of '92, in Round 1 for the first time) v Notts County (founder members of the league) Maidstone v Yeovil (good chance of an upset) |

I guess I don't really have to worry about Exeter getting through this round then. (unless of course, me saying that does them in)

BT are showing Didcot v Exeter and FC United v Chesterfield, so I got two out of three.

The FA Cup just like the Capitol One Cup is hard to predict. Anything can happen but it usually boils down to 3 teams: Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City. I really hope Manchester United can win it this season, it's been far too long since they last won it!

It's always nice when one of the minnow teams gets shown on TV, it's a big financial boost for grassroots teams and a great sense of pride for those playing. It's a pity the non-league team that I part-own, Lewes F.C, didn't make the 1st round proper, but hopefully next year will be their year.

Very good performance from Salford, they dominated the match from start to finish and deserved the victory. That goal line clearance from Howson was in particularly very good as was their 2nd goal.
I hope Salford can get to the 3rd round at least and get a home draw against one of the top teams in the Premier League. A Salford vs Manchester United or Manchester City match would be fantastic for them and generate a lot of revenue and local interest. |

Great performance from Chesham against Bristol Rovers. They were 76 places below them in the various leagues. First time they've got through to the second round since 1980.

Is there not another team that the BBC could have picked other than Salford City, who they showed in round 1.

Is there not another team that the BBC could have picked other than Salford City, who they showed in round 1. I think they made the right choice, just like Warrington last year. Why have people watch, get into the underdog story of a team then never show them again? People can follow their story however long it lasts this way. |

I think Salford v Hartlepool was a fairly obvious choice. If the BBC hadn't picked it, then BT would have done.

I really hope Salford will win tonight, I think they have a very good chance to do so as well.
