Following 2017's 'Crack-Up', Fleet Foxes out of nowhere it seems are releasing their fourth album 'Shore' on this coming Tuesday!

how random

Seems wrong that this will only be their fourth album as it feels like they've been around forever - a nice little surprise here though!

Excited to hear this - their last album was gorgeous! I still find myself listening to it pretty regularly.

very nice, very quiet, folk-ish

Looking forward to giving it all a listen soon, 'Can I Believe You' is the one being pushed - and I'm liking the sound of it.

Disappointed in this, feels a bit too polished and over-produced compared to their earlier works which are more unpolished and rough.

I gave this a listen earlier on, really beautiful and plenty of favourites on there - particularly Can I Believe You, Maestranza, Young Man's Game and Cradling Mother, Cradling Woman.

This whole album is a perfect autumn vibe <3

My biggest standouts (just in the tracklist order, I'm not sure yet how I would rank them against each other) are 'Sunblind', 'Can I Believe You', 'For A Week Or Two', 'Quiet Air / Gioia' and 'Going-To-The-Sun Road' though I do get the sense that most of these songs probably work best as part of the whole album experience rather than as individual songs, a lot of the songs do sound very similar to each other.

After revisiting my highlights from this a few times I've decided that THE ONE from this album for me (as far as being the best song to listen to on its own) is definitely 'Quiet Air / Gioia', gives me pretty similar vibes to 'White Winter Hymnal' which remains my favourite song from them overall. <3

We got another music video from this album exactly a year after its release, marking the autumnal equinox again:

Absolutely beautiful <3 (this song wasn't a standout from the album for me but I'm loving it hearing it in isolation now). Paging Chez, you'd like this.

I will now be disappointed if 22nd September 2022 rolls around and we don't get another music video. I think it would be neat if that became an annual thing. x
